Vertical village är ett tätt kvarter på östermalm med sammanlänkande trappor och gator som tar dig upp i stadsrummet,en förlängning av staden upp över takåsarna med vidsträckt utsikt. Längs din väg upp mellan gator och gränder nns livoch rörelse. För att skapa denna o-entlighet krävs en öppen byggnad med god förankring till marknivån men istället förett traditionellt kvarter med o-entlig verksamhet i markplan valde jag att lyfta det o-entliga rummet över takåsarna medutblick över staden. Detta skulle bli ett o-entligt rum på Östermalm som man söker sig till på samma sätt som observatorielundeneller söders höjder.I mitt projekt har jag valt att arbeta med två skalor, den mindre som blir det o-entliga stadsrummet medan bostäder ochkontor ger byggnaden sin höjd. Sett från staden ska byggnaden upplevas som en upphöjd fortsättning av gatan med enmindre skala som på ett spännande sätt bjuder in till detta stadsliv.

Today there is a large consensus about the importance of Swedish schools providingconditions enabling students to develop the ability to manage and learn through information technologies (IT). The goal of this study was to describe and examine how national education goals for the use of IT transformed into municipal IT-strategies for the school. A content analysis was conducted of thirty-eight municipal IT-strategies collected from Swedish municipal websites on the Internet. The content in the municipal IT-strategies was compared with the content in both the Swedish education act and the national curriculum. The results showed that the content in the Swedish education act and the national curriculum in fact was translated into municipal IT strategies, but that the range of strategies concerning technology, pedagogy and content in relation to IT was broad.

Denna uppsats behandlar precisionsgranaten XM982 Excalibur. Syftet med arbetet var att öka kunskapen inom Försvarsmakten avseende Excalibur inför ett nyttjande av granaten i krig och konflikter.Syftet var också att definiera faktorer som är viktiga att tänka på vid nyttjandet av Excalibur i krig och konflikter.Frågeställning jag ställde upp för detta arbete är: Hur kan XM982 Excalibur användas i krig och konflikter?För att kunna svara på frågeställningen så besvarades tre olika delfrågor.De tre delfrågorna är:Vilka tekniska och taktiska faktorer framkommer genom information från industrin?Vilka tekniska och taktiska faktorer framkommer genom information från Försvarsmakten?Vilka faktorer framkommer genom information från nyttjandet av Excalibur av USA i Irak?  Metoden som användes var litteraturstudier samt intervjuer av personer som arbetat med utveckling av granaten. Varje frågeställning avslutas med en diskussion där de olika faktorerna som framkommit diskuteras. Efter att ha diskuterat de tre olika frågorna avslutas arbetet med en sammanfattande diskussion.I resultaten från avhandlingen framkom att Excalibur är en väldigt teknisk artillerigranat med mycket bra egenskaper för att kunna underlätta för markförbanden, främst i strid i urban terräng..

AbstractThe assignment were assigned by Camatec Industriteknik AB. Camatec is a Karlstadlocated consulting company, they make everything from pilot studies to complete projects in mechanical design and calculation. They even have their own patented product, Camcoil. It is a winder for steel strips and is used for example with hardening of the steel strip. The assignment has been to solve the problems encountered by some customers within this product.

The aim of this project was to create an interior design for a children?s hospital patient room with the concept to adapt the room for the wide target group from 0-18 years of age. The analysis in the project is based on the hospital ward 322 at Drottning Silvias Children?s and Youth Hospital in Gothenburg. It?s an oncology ward where the children are very sensitive for infections and therefore need to be isolated in their rooms for 3-4 weeks.The main goal for the project was to create a room that works as a template and gives the people who lives in it the opportunity to create thier own room based on the personal things they bring into it, and how they decide to furnish and use the room.The result of the project is a template room with fixed furniture that can be transformed due to screens in the room.

This thesis is performed as a case study in Västerbotten Museum's textile storage space. The intention with this study is to investigate the relationships between the museum?s tasks: to collect, preserve and make the collections accessible. The aim is to reveal the problems that exist in museums today with increasing collections, less resources for the preservation of the collections and increasing requirements on accessibility. The aim is to deduce the problem by finding out how the different tasks relate to one another today.

Hur kan vi planera och argumentera för en mer integrerad och intensiv urban grönska i våra allt tätare städer? Vilken viktig roll spelar grönskan i förhållande till dess strukturer, funktioner och upplevelsevärden för stadsmänniskan? Vilka möjligheter ryms inom dagens stadsplanering för att synliggöra och maximera också den täta stadens småskaliga och med bebyggelsen socialt och funktionellt komplext sammanvävda grönskor? I ett personligt teoretiskt reflekterande utifrån relevant litteratur undersöks möjligheter och begrepp i relation till en grönare urbanitet. De i den teoretiska reflektionen funna strukturella, multifunktionella och upplevelseladdade gröna begreppen prövas därefter explorativt i en platsstudie med praktiska illustrationer, analyser och karteringar för området Varvsstaden, Malmö. This thesis is about School libraries and the honour "School library of the year". I have examined the questions - Whats to say about school libraries in the curriculum and the library law? - Who administer the honour "School library of the year" and whats demanded to get it? - What have made the school libraries I have examined to school libraries of the year"? As theory I have used the Taxonomies of the School Library Media Program by David V. Loertscher. I have given a background to and defined the school library as a function, a room and in the teaching among others.

Examensarbetet behandlar det s.k. Kingområdet i södra Helsingborg. Planområdet benämns som King i arbetet, har en storlek av ca 45 hektar och ett avstånd till innerstaden på ca i kilometer. Området består idag främst av bangård och verksamheter av olika karaktär. Under en kommande 20-årsperiod kan stora förändringar förväntas ske i dessa delar av staden och det är i denna utveckling som arbetet tagit sin utgångspunkt.

The aim of this study is to understand how the library environment affects the experiences and feelings of public library users. In order to concretise this, the study sets out from the public library in Bollebygd. We wanted to find out how the library users experience the library environment. Does the library environment affect the meeting between library users? How does the environment affect their moving patterns inside the library? Which environmental factors influence the users' experiences? Our questions were: how do users experience the library environment - as a mediating space for information and culture? - as a social room and meeting place? The material used to attain the purpose of the study consists of qualitative observations and interviews, and literature studies.

The purpose of this master's thesis is to examine how the public library communicates with young users through the library web sites. Four Swedish public library web pages for children are analysed. In the analysis the web pages are treated as a combination of semiotic resources that, communicating as a whole, hold a meaning potential. In order to identify the underlying meaning of the whole I have applied the tools of Kress' & van Leeuwen's visual social semiotics to the chosen web pages.The information value, the framing and the salience of each composition is examined and analysed, as is the size of frame, the perspective and the vertical angle of a selection of images from each web page. The results of the semiotic analysis are then discussed and related to Jochumsen et al:s four space-model and the notion of ?child perspective? and ?empowerment?.The results show that the child perspective is strongest on the web pages that represent the performative space as dominating and that empowerment is mainly represented as ?doing?, ?participating? and the ?free choice?.

Since the late 50th century, the automobile has been normative in the Swedish society (Lundin 2008). This has led to an urban environment deeply characterized by the motor vehicle and its necessities, while other means of transportation, such as train and bicycle, have been ignored and put aside. However, over the past decades, a new trend has been seen in urban planning as a consequence of the increasing knowledge of the negative qualities caused by the car. As a result, the bicycle is seen as a conceivable transport mode.This thesis examines cycling on four issues:- Why is there a need of more cyclists? - How can the total number of cyclists as well as the number of satisfied cyclists increase? - Which factors affect the choice of transport mode? - Which factors affect the choice of route?The first two questions are discussed from a literature study that was conducted at the beginning of the thesis.

The purpose of this thesis was to find out whether the main class C (religion) in the Swedish classification system Klassifikationssystem för svenska bibliotek is well adapted to classify materials published in or imported to Sweden, and handled by Swedish libraries today. The questions we put to ourselves were:1. How easy to understand, and how useful is the main class C religion today?2. What, in the main class C, is satisfactory?3. What, in the main class C, is inconsistent, anachronistic or incorrect?4. What, in the main class C, is in need of change or renewal?The method that was used was a number of interviews with librarians and cataloguers. We have interviewed eight librarians from six different libraries, of different types, but all with a relatively large collection of religious materials.Though all of our respondents have expressed a feeling that all the major religions deserve equal treatment in the classification system and a similar division of space, after some pondering on the subject, our respondents have agreed that a larger space for Christianity is warranted considering the composition of the current collections and publication. Our respondents have in some cases expressed that there is a lack of instructions as to how the subdivisions of the main class C (religion) is meant to be used.

The aim of the thesis is to explore how the human subject is depicted in contemporary posthumancinema and how these films effect our comprehension of human subjectivity. The object of analysis isJames Cameron?s Avatar (2009) and the method of analysis is cybernetic and intermedial. The conclusionis that Avatar is a film that depicts a posthuman network society where existence and subjectivity in a greatvariety of forms is possible. The film presents posthuman subjects in symbiosis with avatars, terminals,extensions and prothesis.

By adding my stories to the old ones (that create our society) I hope they, if only just the slightest, can influence on how we look at reality and on a possible reality.
