In claims for unfair dismissal due to alleged redundancy, the burden of proof should be shared to enable an employee to have the cause of redundancy tried. In such a case, the employee should present evidence of an invalid cause ? such as personal reasons ? and the employer should account for the redundancy. With reference to their conflicting interests, the law favours the employer if the redundancy can be accounted for even if the employee maintains his or her position. This would have been reasonable practice if the employer?s evidence was subject to the same scrutiny as that of the employee but, as long as redundancy is considered a valid cause in itself, this is not the case.Redundancy does not come from nowhere, but it occurs when employers carry out their management decisions.

In this thesis a possible cost effective runner change of some of the units in the hydroelectric power station Olidan is investigated. The possibility to drive a unit at the same efficiency point through a change of the turbine shaft speed and the rate of discharge is tested. Furthermore the theories behind model testing, determination of efficiency increase from model to prototype and efficiency measurements shall be discussed and analyzed with Olidan as a starting point.A predicted curve has been built on information from model tests and field measurements on the existing runners and runner data from the test of the new model. The predicted curve shows the difference in efficiency between an existing runner and a modern one. It is the difference in efficiency that is used in the calculations that are to show whether changing to a pair of new runners will be cost effective or not.

One of today problem at IVT industries would be assembly of insulation on water cisterns. The element of assembly insulation on the cistern gets too elevated; hence one has to climb onto the stand the cistern is assembly on. This will increase the risk of work related injuries when there is a risk of falling down. It?s also rather strenuous on shoulders due to work with your arms high above your head.

The form of my essay is that all human communication, can be seen as a practical knowledge, witch can be trained. I describe how I came in to a pedagogic activity, which is aimed to train people?s communicative ability in their working life and in school. This is made in the form of lectures, seminars and training program. In this essay, I even describe my personally background and what it was, that made me work with people outside the theatre.

Abstract:Ambulance nurses have in their everyday work a varied work environment, the pace of work can quickly shift from being calm and structured to be a severe acute situation.Objective: The aim of the study was to describe how professional nurses in the ambulance operations experience their physical and mental work environment in daily practice.Method: A qualitative interview study with semi structured questions was used. The study group consisted of two women and three men, ages between 27?42 years. The study was carried out on an ambulance station in central Sweden. Based on collected data, a qualitativecontent analysis was performed that resulted in three categories.Results: The result showed that the ambulance nurses regarded that it was a lot of heavy lifting.

This master thesis was made to validate hydropower models of a turbine governor,Kaplan turbine and a Francis turbine in the power system simulator ARISTO atSvenska Kraftnät. The validation was made in three steps. The first step was to makesure the models was implement correctly in the simulator. The second was tocompare the simulation results from the Kaplan turbine model to data from a realhydropower plant. The comparison was made to see how the models could generatesimulation result that was similar to the reference power station.

Military dogs in Sweden spend their first 18 months after weaning with a foster owner that has volunteered to care for its upbringing. The foster owner is advised by a consultant and offered three opportunities to train the dog together with other foster owners. There is a positive correlation between the number of attended training opportunities with the consultant, or other professional dog trainers, and the results of the dog in the temperament test at the end of the 18 months. The test results are in turn positively correlated with the likelihood of the dog to enter service. This thesis aims to investigate why the number of training opportunities is important for the dog?s chance to enter service by identifying foster owner factors that influence the success of the dog and which temperament test items the factors have the strongest impact on.

The purpose of this study is to see how five different local radio stations, P4, within the public service organization Sveriges Radio communicate with their listeners through Facebook and how they differ from each other.We have also studied how the radio stations follow Sveriges Radios? policies for socialmedia usage and how the communication through Facebook can benefit thetraditional radio. Our study contains a combination of quantitative content analysis with qualitative interviews. We studied the five stations? Facebook pages from for the quantitative content analysis and interviewed those who were responsible for the social media pages, such as web editors and channel managers.Our conclusions are that the P4-stations communicate through Facebook to create a dialogue with the listeners and to reach two-way communication; the stations published mostly written updates that encouraged interactivity.

The world we live in becomes more globalized as a result of new communication media. Communication occurs over greater distances which leads to increased travel. In the report AR5, by IPCC, it is showed that the human impact of climate change is clear and that something has to be done. Therefore its very important to change the human impact. A part of it is to change the way we travel within the service which leads to the purpose of the thesis.

Syfte och frågeställningStudiens syfte är att, utifrån NyTidstestet, undersöka elevers grovmotoriska grundfärdigheter i årskurs 6 i Stockholmsområdet.Utifrån detta syfte har vi valt att använda oss av följande frågeställning:- Hur ser de grovmotoriska färdigheterna ut för elever i årskurs 6, när de bedöms enligt NyTidstestet?- Vilka skillnader framkommer, hos eleverna, mellan de undersökta stationerna?MetodFrågeställningen har besvarats genom en observationsstudie på sjätteklassare i Stockholmsområdet, sammanlagt 113 elever. Varje elev har observerats utifrån NyTidstestets observationsschema, där eleverna vid sju stationer bedömts enligt fyra kriterier: "mycket tillfredställande", "tillfredställande", "små brister" och "stora brister". Varje station innehåller en eller två grovmotoriska grundformer.ResultatDe undersökta elevernas grovmotoriska färdigheter är bristande. Hela 48 procent av övningarna kunde inte utföras på ett tillfredställande eller mycket tillfredställande sätt.SlutsatsUndersökningen visar att eleverna får en allt sämre grovmotorik och i och med den nya läroplanen (Lgr 11) tror vi inte att elevernas grovmotoriska färdigheter kommer att bli bättre.

Bakgrund Dagens samhälle ställer allt större krav på den enskilde individen att bidra till ett hållbart samhälle, där återvinning av förbrukade material är en del. Samtidigt talas om tillgänglighet för alla individer i samhället och lika rättigheter.Syfte Studien syftar till att undersöka hur förutsättningarna i miljön ser ut vid återvinnings-/miljöstationer för rullstolsburna i Örebro Kommun.Undersökningsmetod En observationsstudie av miljöfaktorer har gjorts utifrån egen utarbetad checklista med grund i bland annat bedömningsinstrumentet Housing Enabler samt rekommenderade mått från svensk lagstiftning angående byggnormer för tillgänglighet. Urvalet skedde genom bekvämlighetsurval.Resultat Observationerna av återvinnings-/miljöstationerna indelades i åtta kategorier, utifrån typ av station. De hinder som observerades var för höga/låga kärl, otillräckligt manöverutrymme, hindrande trösklar/trottoarkanter, tunga dörrar utan automatik och tunga lock/luckor på återvinningskärlen.Slutsats Samtliga observerade återvinnings-/miljöstationer innefattade miljöhinder för rullstolsburna vilket påverkar möjligheten till självständig återvinning. .

Nowadays Wireless LAN is playing a more and more important role in network systems. After 1999, in which the IEEE organization published its Wireless Local Network standard 802.11[1], many people saw the advantages of the standard but also the lack of support for multimedia streaming. A lot of research work has been done on the proposed IEEE 802.11e standard draft during the past 4 years. It is supposed to be able to fully support Quality of Service. The final version will be published early in 2004.

This report describes the development and implementation of a system for transmitting digital information at high speeds from a miniaturized submersible developed by the Ångström Space Technology Centre at Uppsala University. For instance, the vehicle shall transmit image data ? even stream live video - through an optical fibre to a monitor in a ground station. Hence, the system shall be used both to convert the image data to make it transmittable, and to recreate it at the receiver.The work includes a pre-study of the programming language and the technology used. A concept for the solution is presented together with main components later broken down into internal functions.
