A real option model is developed to examine the crucial factors affecting the agricultural firms? decision to quit the production and rent out the land to a company building a PV power plant. The public policies in support of investments in renewable energies have created the conditions for a market regarding investments in PV installations in agricultural areas.The decision to switch offers to the agricultural firm and to society several economical, social and environmental benefits, representing sustainability. However, PV installations in agricultural areas require the allocation of a certain land area. By assigning a part of land to PV installations, thereby the area of land allocated to agricultural production decreases.

This thesis aims to evaluate the concept of Uncovered Interest Parity. The parity states that the logarithmic difference between domestic and foreign interest rate equals the logarithmic difference between expected future spot exchange rate and the spot exchange rate, . In defining the exchange rate it is often presumed that the parity relation prevails even though several studies suggest the opposite. Numerous economists maintain that the theory?s shortcomings can be explained through the existence of a Risk Premium.

The aim of this study is to increase the understanding of the causes of the first war between Russia and Chechnya. Empirical data consists of four half-structured interviews with former Russian and Chechen war participants that tell about their perspective of the causes of the war between Russia and Chechnya. The study used narrative method and the theoretical framework consists of International Relations theories such as Realism, Geopolitics, Liberalism and Marxism. Geopolitics sees the geostrategic interest, territory as a cause of war. According to realism warfare occurs because of the state?s endeavor after power and influence in term of territory.

Denna uppsats försöker utreda vilken roll etnicitet spelar i det som betecknas som ett gängkrig i Köpenhamn. Hösten 2008 har ett stort antal skottlossningar ägt rum på Köpenhamns gator, och huvudaktörerna är Hells Angels /AK81 och en rad geografiskt baserade gäng.Vårt tillvägagångssätt har varit att analysera mediers och polisens agerande, men vi har också lagt stor vikt vid insamling av material genom intervjuer med respondenter från Blågårdsplads, Hells Angels, AK81 och Black Cobra. Vi har analyserat detta material med stöd av teorier kring hur etnicitet kan konstrueras och utnyttjas, häribland primordial, socialkonstruktivistisk och instrumentalistiska etnicitetsuppfattningar.Etnicitet har spelat en central roll i konflikten. Medier och polis har genom sin framställning av konfliktens parter bidragit till att konstruera etniska skiljelinjer i konflikten, linjer som primärt går mellan ?invandare? och danskar.

The aim of this study is to analyze the discussion on the publication of twelve caricatures of the prophet Muhammad, in two Swedish newspapers ? Dagens Nyheter and Sydsvenska Dagbladet. The caricatures were originally published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, in September 2005. Even though the violent protests and attacks against Danish interests gained major media attention in Sweden few ? if any ? major Swedish newspapers published the caricatures.Using Fairclough?s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), a theory and a method that critically examines the relationship between text, the discourse practice in which text is produced and consumed, and the wider social practice, this study examines why Swedish newspapers chose not to publish any caricatures.The study concludes that the relationship between orders of discourse continuously affect, and is also affected by, Swedish media content.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att redogöra för utvecklingen av den indiska läkemedelsindustrin och sedan undersöka vilka efekter TRIPS (Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights) avtalet kan leda fram till. Indiens läkemedelsindustrin har haft en relativt stakt utveckling sedan 1970-talet då regeringen införde flera reformer som var menade att utveckla den inhemska läkemedelsindustrin och begränsa import. Samtidigt infördes också ett ganska svagt patentsystem som tillät de indiska producenterna att kopiera västerländska läkemedelsprodukter. I början av 90-talet var den indiska läkemedelsindustrin ganska framgångsrikt bland utvecklingsländerna och regeringen insåg att exportorientering vore en bra väg att gå. Under 90-talet utvecklades industrin ytterliggare, där både produktion och export ökade markant i volym.

Denna uppsats baseras på fältarbete i efterkrigstidens Bosnien & Hercegovina och handlar om gränsöverskridande samarbetsrelationer inom ramen för kvinnoorganisationen Zene Zenama. För en mer nyanserad illustration av organisationens multidimensionella samarbete utgår jag ifrån intersektionalitetsperspektivet som teoretiskt ramverk och huvudsakligen intervjuer som empiri. Jag söker även förstå kontexten och få svar på vilken betydelse kriget har för organisationen samt hur olika jämställdhetsfrågor legitimeras. Min analys visar att krigets betydelse inte kan underskattas i organisationens kamp för jämställdhet, vilken inte heller står helt opåverkad från det transnationella ekonomiska stödets premisser. Samtidigt som krigets konsekvenser verkar enande i kampen för kvinnors rättigheter och i stärkandet av en regional identitet tenderar de även att utesluta andra erfarenheter av utsatthet som inte direkt är förknippade med krigets förödande följder..

Purpose: The study aims to increase knowledge of dealers' purchasing behavior of impulse goods in wholesale trade.Methodology: An exploratory survey method has been selected in order to investigate the relatively unexplored topic; buyer behavior of impulse goods in the wholesale. Data has been collected through interview of 27 dealers that conduct business with bulk confectionery sales across Sweden. A semi-structured interview technique has been selected, with a predetermined interview schedule but with space for follow-up questions and discussion.Conclusion: The background to this work argued that there is not much research on how retailers reasons when buying convenience products, or also called as impulse items. It is usually the sale of goods such as several of the informants believe is critical to their business existence. Impulse goods which do not require any effort, has little search time and usually are cheap and suits many customers pockets.

The aim of this thesis is to examine whether law reforms in the detailed planning process can be an aspect that gets in conflict with the citizens rights to participate in the Swedish planning through dialogue, and how five chosen municipalities are working with citizen participation. To be able to answer the aim of the thesis a literature study and five semi-structured interviews was performed in purpose to get wide-ranging information from municipal officials working with detailed planning handling. Law changes that aims to make the detailed planning process more efficient has been implemented partly to satisfy the needs of dwellings since the detailed planning process among master builders seems to be slow and inefficient, which to the them means higher costs. The requirement on having a detailed planning program was taken away when the new planning law was adopted year 2011. The planning program was including a moment of citizen dialogue. The case studied municipalities have not been affected in this law change arguing that it?s still possible to bring a program if needed.

This thesis revolves around co-opetition and boundary spanning activities with IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) as research case. The main objective is to through qualitative interviews and a passive observation of email conversations explore how the participants of IETF experience and is affected by a double membership where they sometimes are cooperating with their competitors. Theories states that boundary spanning activities can create role conflicts for these participants when different role-senders, IETF and the employer, send incompatible expectations. We also believe that this can have a negative impact on discussions and the standard development process, which is why we are conducting the passive observations mentioned above.The result shows that the environment of co-opetition is a contributing factor to role-conflicts. These conflicts appear when participants are forced to choose between the role as an employee and the role as an IETF participant.

The purpose of this study was to analyze recent appropriations of works of art in advertising. Why was art infused into magazine advertisements, how were the works of art tampered with to achieve commercial goals, how well did they function together with the ad copy? What did these advertisements want? What did the artwork contribute to the commercial message? These were some of the questions asked in the study that involved a closer look at four appropriations: one based on a battle painting by the Swedish 1900th century artist Carl Wahlbom, with a commercial message printed on top;  one a collage including an 18th century portrait of Marie Antoinettte by Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun; one advertisement was influenced by Dutch 1700th century still lifes, and, finally, one paraphrased Velázquez?s famous painting Las Meninas from 1655. Companies behind the advertisements featured a Swedish trade journal, a fashion exhibition in Paris, a shop for kitchen utensils in Stockholm, and an up-scale department store in Madrid.The ads, in different ways based on works of art, were evaluated as reasonably successful commercial messages. These ads, however, hardly qualified as works of art in their own right ? if that was the intention.

A study about how the organization DIAN Interfidei works to pursue peaceful relations in Indonesia]. The aim of this study has been to analyze how an Indonesian NGO called DIAN Interfidei works with peacebuilding through faith in order to bring harmony between the various ethnic and religious groups of people that inhabits the nation. Through interviews and the study of Interfideis own source-material could their methods and problems be explored, and later on related to contemporary research in the field of conflict-resolution and peace-making. The conclusions that could be drawn from this study is that Interfidei primarily targets two specific groups (teachers of religion in schools and future religious leaders) in their programmes, because these groups in turn have the potential to affect several people in their own work.

Are there signs that show of a change, either towards more or less cooperation between United Nations and the United States?To answer these questions I will use the theories realism and Hedley Bulls concepts of fairness and his ideas of an international system in his book ?An Anarchical Society?.

Föreliggande uppsats utgår från ett potentiellt problem för Försvarsmakten att i det nyligen införda tvåbefälssystemet omhänderta den högskolemässigt utbildade officeren som sannolikt generellt innehar en högre utbildningsnivå och mer uttalad karriärambition än de äldre yrkesofficerarna från det tidigare enbefälssystemet NBO.Uppsatsens syfte är att tydliggöra vilka förutsättningar på arbetsplatsen som gäller för tvåbefälsystemets högskolemässigt utbildade officerare vid officersprogrammet ur ett anställningsbarhetsperspektiv. Anställningsbarhetsbegreppet kommer att utgöra det redskap som jag applicerar på det avgränsade empiriska materialet för att se vilka förutsättningar, som gäller på arbetsplatsen i jämförelse med kraven i examensbeskrivningen för de högskolemässigt utbildade officerarna då de tagit examen sommaren 2010. Är de anställningsbara?
