People in today?s society are becoming more and more aware of how important it is to use energy as efficiently as possible. This is clearly noticeable by an increase in home produced heat with e.g. solar panels or heat pumps heating systems. These changing customer demands forces district heating technology to be redesigned, which is why there is an ongoing research regarding the next generation of district heating - low temperature district heating (LTDH).

Ystad har under lång tid varit en populär turistdestination för svenska och utländska besökare. Staden med dess omnejd har genom den fina miljön och dess historiska byggnader goda förutsättningar att attrahera turister till regionen. Efter filmatiseringarna av Henning Mankells romaner om kriminalkommissarie Kurt Wallander, som utspelas i Ystad, har antalet turister ökat än mer till regionen. Förhållandet mellan böcker och filmer är en väsentlig del av den turism som uppstår efter en berättelse om en fiktiv karaktär i en existerande miljö. Vi ville följaktligen undersöka film- litteraturturism och dess påverkan på en plats.

Latvia has been an independent state twice, the first time during the years 1918-1940 and the second time from the year 1991 and ahead. During these two periods Latvia has been a destination for tourists. The aim of this study is to describe how Latvia as a destination has developed during the years of independence. One further aim is to compare what Latvia?s tourism industry looked like during the same periods to descry similarities and differences.

In this thesis the survival and development of a yearly recurring event will be examined. The purpose of this work is to examine how the festival Stockholm Pride has developed and to find out what underlying factors and conditions that lays behind the development. Also being examined is how the event affects Stockholm city?s tourism industry. To be able to fulfill the purpose of the thesis a qualitative research has been used and two persons with allot of knowledge about Stockholm Pride and Stockholm?s tourism industry has been interviewed.

The purpose of this study is to analyse how a distribution and sale-network for quality softwood lumber should be designed to fit sawmilling companies? business concepts, and at the same time satisfy customer needs regarding delivery time and quality aspects. This thesis work is a case study based on a sawmilling and retail company in Sweden. AB Karl Hedin is a private owned sawmilling company with 500 employees. The company?s turnover is 1500 million SEK, it includes 4 sawmills, 16 builders merchants stores and a packaging company.

The focus of this essay is set on a number of processes that affect the challenges of the tourist trade, to be more precise ? an analysis of the attitudes towards tourism and sustainability within this line of business ? from an ethical and moral as well as social view. These issues are examined with reference to the concept of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). Thus, acquaintance with theories of social constructivism, post colonialism, globalisation and global civil society is essential in order to understand the analysed material. This master thesis is a biographical study of an author and journalist, Gustaf Montgomery GM, his network in Sweden of the early 19th century, and a study of his authorship and literary career. The starting-point of the study is GM:s change of field from the conservative to the liberal in 1832. With the advance in computer and network technologies, multimedia systems and Internet applications are becoming more popular. As broadband network is prevailing, more clients are able to watch streaming videos or to play multimedia data over the Internet in real-time. Consequently, there is an increasing demand in the Internet for streaming video systems. As the run-time environment of such applications tends to be dynamic, it is imperative to handle transient overloads effectively. The goal of this work is to develop an algorithm that would provide a robust and controlled behavior of the video system so that important data is delivered on time to the video clients.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka fenomenet shoppingturism. Skribenterna valde att utifrån sex stycken kvalitativa intervjuer kartlägga de faktorer som bidrar till att resenärer åker på en shoppingresa. Därutöver undersökte skribenterna även om shoppingturism kan kopplas samman med upplevelseturism samt om respondenterna anser att shoppingresandet kan ha någon påverkan på en destination. Metoden som skribenterna har använt sig av är en kvalitativ intervjustudie där intervjumanualen var halvstrukturerad. För att tolka de resultat som framkommit under samtliga intervjuer har skribenterna använt sig av tidigare forskning samt diverse teoretiska analysverktyg.

This study focuses on the integrity of students at Uppsala University that has used the university?s network, UpUnet. We?ve studied their opinions with the use of questionnaires that cover questions related to privacy and awareness about logging of data traffic.The results showed that more students than our hypothesis suggested were unaware of the surveillance on the network, and the majority of these also had a negative opinion towards logging of data traffic. However, we found that there were several relations between how the students responded on our questionnaire, and we?ve presented these in the analysis chapter towards the end of the essay..

When contemplating entering an alliance the rationale behind the decision should differ depending on the size of the companies involved as well as on other important factors.
