The aim of the thesis is to examine the Swedish publiclibrary-debate between 1965 and 1975, with a focus on theinfluence of the New Left movement. The empirical materialconsists of articles from two library journals, and is studiedwith the intent to achieve knowledge of the library ideologyexpressed in context of the socialist movements of the 1960sand 70s. The method used is ideology analysis. Threedifferent areas of debate have been included in the study:issues pertaining to library holdings, problems concerning theworkplace and social and outreach activities.Some of the salient and key ideas that often recurs in thematerial touch upon the dangers of mass market literature, thenecessity for an expanded workplace democracy, theimportance of social work and the need for a more politicallyactive library. The bureaucracy, centralism and authoritariantendencies in the library world are criticized, as well as thenotion that the library should remain a politically neutralinstitution.

This essay deals with the subject of communication through Facebook. In this survey we studied 100 youths from Karlstad and their communication habits and behavior patterns on Facebook. The social network site Facebook has since its start in 2004 made a mark in modern communication. Today in 2010 the site has more than 500 million users. This paper wants to study what happens to other types of communication.

This qualitative study is based upon interviews with librarians. It investigates the librarians? opinions on material adapted for disabled people and examines strategies used to market user friendly services for the disabled. The study explores librarians? views about streaming directly on the internet.

Bakgrund: Beröring är livsviktigt genom hela livet. Människor mellan 66 och 100 år är de som får minst beröring. Beröring är en form av icke verbal kommunikation som kan förmedla kontakt och inge trygghet. Då äldre personer ofta får nedsatt kommunikationsförmåga blir den icke nödvändiga beröringen, det vill säga beröring som inte relaterat till omvårdnadsuppgifter, ett naturligt kommunikationsmedel. Syftet: Belysa icke nödvändig beröring i omvårdnaden av äldre personer.

I mitt examensarbete har jag koncentrerat mig på produkters taktila och haptiska kvaliteter. Jag ville bland annat undersöka vad som upplevs som intressant i olika former när man inte ser dem och hur man kan få föremål att kännas intressanta och uttrycksfulla utifrån ett känselperspektiv. Bakgrunden är att jag ofta kommit på mig själv med att formge saker till största delen för ögat medan jag ofta uppskattar produkter främst utifrån hur de känns att använda. För att få arbeta med olika aspekter av känsel valdes tre produkter som man möter och använder på olika sätt. Produkterna är en dimmer, en väckarklocka, och ett överfallslarm.Dimmern har inspirerats från rörelser man minns med kroppen.

Title: ?You could talk about it? ? a study of the experiences of victims of crime who have been receiving help from The Swedish Association for Victim Support.We got in touch with ten victims of crime through a local chapter of The Swedish Association for Victim Support and examined their emotional experiences of the help that was given to them from this organization.Background: Crime has always been a part of society and anyone can be subjected to some form of crime. Whenever a crime is perpetrated, there is always a victim. The purpose of this essay is to investigate how victims of crime emotionally experience the help they receive from the national association in Sweden who help and support victims of crime. Methods: We employed a qualitative method in the process of investigating the topic of this essay, and by employing interviews we got a deeper understanding of how victims of crime experience the help they receive.

?Pedagogiska kvarten? is a project at Örebro University. It is a study that deals with the teachers? perspective of pedagogics. When I came in touch with ?Pedagogiska kvarten? I found it interesting to find out more about pupils? perspective of pedagogics, since the teachers? perspective already had been noticed.

There are an increasing number of people suffering from depression and depressed mood. Concurrently important benefits have been noticed from the effects of massage, effects that can be assumed to restore individual?s health with depression and depressed mood. The aim of the study was to examine the importance of gentle massage in connection with depression and depressed mood. The research was based on scientific studies that were applied through the databases Cinahl, elin@Kristianstad, PsycARTICLES, PsycINFO, PubMed and the journal Vård i Norden as well as by manual searches.

Abstract in English:This essay constitutes a case study based upon in-depth interviews held with people who have, or have had, Exhaustion Disorder (ED), concerning their understanding and use of music and sound, encompassing experiences which are both positive and negative. The intention is to document how the illness influences the subjects' music use. The study shows that the respondents intuitively and consciously are using music by regulating, getting in touch with and manifesting their emotions. Music is an important tool in performing self therapy and to achieve a good existential health. Music can also provoke negative physical and mental reactions and affect the general health status for those diagnosed with ED.

Denna rapport har undersökt hur interaktivitet, genom interaktiva barnböcker på mobila enheter med pekskärm, kan påverka engagemanget för läsande hos barn i tre till fem års ålder. Detta har gjorts genom att en interaktiv barnbok skapades och deltagande observationer sedan utfördes vid sex tillfällen på tre förskolor där barnen fick testa den utvecklade produkten. De deltagande observationerna kompletterades sedan med åsikter om digitalt lärande från förskollärare på respektive förskola genom semistrukturerade intervjuer.Resultatet från undersökningen visar på en tendens till att engagemanget hos barnen kan ökas genom att införa interaktivitet i barnböcker genom att leverera dessa på mobila enheter med pekskärm. Undersökningen är dock gjord i för liten skala samt att produkten och undersökningen innehåller för många brister för att kunna ställa upp en faktisk teori. Istället ställs en hypotes upp som skulle behöva testas vidare under längre tid och i en mer rigorös undersökning..

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att identifiera vilka faktorer som påverkar den äldre patientens upplevelse av sjuksköterskans beröring. Beröring har två olika dimensioner, en instrumentell och en affektiv. Äldre patienter upplever instrumentell beröring som nödvändig, medan den affektiva beröringen upplevs som spontan. Resultatet visar att sjuksköterskans kön och ålder har en betydelse för hur äldre patienter upplever beröring.

I dagens förskola och skola tenderar elevgrupperna till att bli allt större medan antalet pedagoger minskar. Uvnäs Moberg (2000) har i ett flertal studier visat på att beröring aktiverar kroppens lugn - och - ro hormoner oxytocin. Studier vid bland annat det Amerikanska Touch Research Institutet i Miami har visat att massage har en ångestdämpande, lugnande och avslappnande effekt på elever. Inlärningen och problemlösning sker för det mesta lättare efter massage. Vårt syfte är att undersöka pedagogers syn på de känslomässiga, interaktionella och kognitiva aspekterna hos eleverna som en följd av elevmassage.

We are in an emerging digital society where we are increasingly dependent on the mastery of IT and digital technologies to better carry out our everyday tasks. They cover everything from keeping in touch with family and friends to pay bills and declare. At the same time there are those who have not learned how to use the new technology and live their lives outside of the digital society. What happens to these people, in a society that is becoming increasingly digitized? Do they take harm by being in digital exclusion? It looks like this are issues that will not become less important as digital technology constantly changes.
