Today multi-touch technology is the basis for many new techniques designed to improve interactions with computers and mobile devices. It seems that multi-touch screen interface makes the user handling very natural in the sense that there is no need for a manual in how to interact with the object on the screen. The aim with this paper is to establish a fundamental set of design principles intended specifically for large multi-touch interfaces. To reach this goal we have implemented a couple of sub-goals beforehand: It was essential that we acquired a good understanding of the current state of the multi-touch interface and the different implementations that exist today. To make this possible we constructed a multi-touch display, "Rosie". Knowing how the hardware is produced today will help us understand the limitations and also the possibilities of the design implementations today and in the future. We also needed to devise a sound interaction design process that conveys the modern designers work.

The aim of this investigation was to assess if there was a correlation between touch avoidance and hierarchical position, perceived degradation, number of years spent in jail and age amongst men at a correctional institution. In addition, a possible correlation between hierarchical position and the amount of perceived degrading treatment was also explored. In the collection of the data a questionnaire containing 27 open and closed answer alternatives was utilized. A multiple regressional analysis was conducted to find possible correlations between touch avoidance and the other underlying variables. Also an independent t-test explored the possible effects of the control variables: place of birth and girlfriend.

The method used here is literature studies. Nineteen empirical studies are described and analysed with the purpose to compare the relative value of different subject access points. The studies examined compare the relative value of subject access points in relation to each other or in relation to different scientific disciplines.

Touch-baserad teknik har sedan 2007 tagit allt större utrymme bland tekniska artifakter och många kända namn inom teknikbranschen har klivit fram och konstaterat i mer eller mindre dramatiska ord att det vi känner som "PC", persondator, är på väg att förändras i och med detta teknikskifte. Vissa organisationer, däribland kommuner och landsting, har börjat använda pekplattor som dokumentersättare för bl.a. mötesprotokoll. SAS (Scaninavian Airlines) använder tekniken i cockpit i liknande ändamål. Det förväntas inte dröja särskilt länge innan vinstdrivande organisationer lyfter gränssnittet till sina interna stödsystem.

First-year students at Linköping University have developed a prototype that graphically visualizes a medical record in a new way. The customer of that project was the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Linköping University. They now want a usability evaluation to be performed of the prototype. The prototype is to be used by employees in the public health care and is supposed to be used on a small portable unit with a multi-touch interface. For this reason the prototype will be used as a complement to existing systems when the users work near the patients.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att utreda och diskutera vad i händelsekedjan vid orgelspel som påverkar touchen i klaviaturer kopplade till digitala respektive akustiska instrument och att jämföra skillnaden för det musikaliska uttrycket. Frågeställningar jag utgick ifrån var: ?Vad i händelsekedjan, från tangent till klingande ljud, är av betydelse för en bra touch?? samt ?Vilken betydelse har klaviaturen för de musikaliska uttrycksmöjligheterna??För att utreda ovanstående har jag mätt upp spel- och bottenvikter hos olika klaviaturer. Som konstnärlig del valde jag att spela in ett stycke av Klaus Huber till grund för de resonemang jag fört kring olika delar av klaviaturer och dess påverkan på det musikaliska uttrycket. I resultatdiskussionen konstaterade jag att mekaniska klaviaturer upplevs mer levande just på grund av sin ojämnhet.

Syfte: Syftet med föreliggande litteraturstudie var att beskriva vilka faktorer som kan påverka patientens delaktighet i sin omvårdnad ur ett patientperspektiv. Syftet var även att beskriva de valda artiklarnas urvalsmetod. Metod: Litteraturstudien har en deskriptiv design. Elva artiklar användes varav nio artiklar med kvalitativ ansats, en artikel med kvantitativ ansats och en artikel med både kvalitativ och kvantitativ ansats.Resultat: Resultatet visade att det finns flera faktorer som påverkar patientens möjlighet till delaktighet i sin omvårdnad. Faktorer så som information, patientens delaktighet vid beslutsfattande samt bemötande påverkar patientens möjlighet till delaktighet i omvårdnaden.  Slutsats: Information var viktig för patientdelaktighet i sin omvårdnad.

Denna lösning är inte ekonomiskt lönsam för företag med en mindre organisation, syftet med rapporten är att visa ett alternativ till denna lösning som är ekonomiskt försvarbar för företag med färre än 1000 anställda. Our purposes with this essay was to increase our knowledge about, and try to describe, how it happens when people get involved in gambling and becomes addictive to gambling, and what the way out of a gambling addiction could look like. Our framing of the question was: - How does gambling begin? - How does gambling evolve to an addiction and how does it go forward from there? - How do you leave a gambling addiction? Is there an experience of turning points? We did qualitative interviews with six former gamblers. Our main conclusions were that the initiation to gambling can be very different and still lead to similar effects. There seems to be a strong enticement surrounding the attributes of gambling, which are connected to developing a gambling addiction. The experiences of turning points were very palpable.

Universal Design is a well established methodology with the fundamental purpose of designing products to be usable for as wide audience as possible, without the need of special adjustment to suit the individual. This paper explores the field of virtual reality and how immersion and presences can be increased when it comes to navigation and interaction with Virtual Environments. The availability of VR technology has sparked a trend, especially in game development. Old ways of designing for interactive environments have to be revised. This is done by exploring the massive body of work done on VR, exploring its underlying concepts, using tested design techniques and ways of evaluating interaction for VR. A design suggestion in the form of utilizing a tablet device as the main input device is derived.

The essay is a text centred study of ten Young Adult Novels, in which Internet plays an essential part. The structure is put into light out of used narrative techniques of how to create stories and its construction elements. I compare the ten Young Adult novels to each other. My aim is to analyze the functions of the Internet motive in the chosen novels, using different approaches, and enlighten it with concerns to the new phenomenon that Internet is in society. Consequently the essay will also have a mimetic touch to it.The ten novels that I base the analysis on are written of both med and women and have both male and female as main fictive persons, and are from different parts of the world.
