Uppsatsen behandlar fra?gan om musiklekens betydelse fo?r de yngsta barnen (1-3 a?r) i fo?rskolan. I just denna ma?lgrupp a?r gra?nserna fo?r omsorg, lek och la?rande ta?mligen flytande. Den svenska fo?rskolan har en la?ng tradition av att anva?nda sig av musikaliska aktiviteter i verksamheten vilka kan uppfattas som tagna fo?r givna.

Redan i små barns vardag, kan en traditionell genussyn observeras i exempelvis leksaks- och klädaffärernas kategorisering av ?flick- och pojkprodukter?. En kategori-sering som jag anser kan styra in barnen i den konstruerade bilden av hur man är, och därmed ska ?göra?, sitt kön. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka tre förskole-avdelningars barnlitteratur, som barn i åldrarna ett till tre år har tillgång till, ur ett genusperspektiv.

Examensarbetets fokus är hur små barn mellan ett till tre år interagerar och samlär tillsammans i svensk förskola. Det övergripande syftet var att undersöka hur de yngsta förskolebarnens samspel, samlärande, kommunikation samt kamratrelationer gestaltas i lek och vardagliga situationer på förskolan. Detta för att öka kunskapen om de yngsta barnens sociala värld tillsammans med andra barn och vuxna i förskolan. En kvalitativ undersökning genomfördes på en småbarnsavdelning med 16 barn, där 7 var flickor och 9 var pojkar. 14 av de 16 barnen var även nyinskolade på avdelningen.
