Detta är en studie som behandlar hur väl kvalitén i trädet tas tillvara för sortimenten limträ och KL-trä. Limträ består av ett antal lameller som limmas samman med fibrerna i längdriktningen medan KL-trä är en krysslimmad skiva som består av en mängd sammansatta lameller. Trä är ett heterogent material som har skilda egenskaper beroende på var och hur det växt. Genom att sätta samman heterogena trälameller vill man skapa en homogenare produkt. Eftersom att produkterna används inom olika områden kan man tänka sig att det går att optimera användandet av råvaran till respektive produkt.

The Swedish Cellulosa Companiy, SCA, has today 280 000 ha planted with lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta var. latifolia) (?C?) which is equivalent to 14 % of its total forest area. Exotic lodgepole pine has in previous experimental stands shown a superior growth than the native Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) (?S?).But also the comparison could be questioned because stand histories were was unknown and also differences in age between C and S existed.

The purpose of this degree project is to give an overview of the planning system of four Swedish forest companies. The involved companies are ATA Timber, SYDVED, BERGS SKOG and VIDA SKOG. The study is based on information from a literature study and by interviews with personals from the four companies. Each company is described to get a better insight of the companies work and what potential they have. The description of the planning process comes after that. The companies are described separate from each other and will be compared later in this essay.

The scarification frequency is low in the area. AB Hilmer Andersson want´s to know if the private forest owners want to scarify more than is done today. Good regeneration is important for private forest owners so they can have a long term forest management and economics of their forests. This academic study is done as an opinion poll. The purpose of the study is to see how big the interest of scarification among the private forest owner is.

Glulam is a product that was engineered to make use of Timber in a more efficient way. Bychoosing Timber of similar quality and discarding natural defects during production, thedevelopment of a stronger cross-section is achieved.Carbon fiber is a relatively new material with a high tension capacity. This feature is used toexamine how the bending capacity of the beams improve by adhering carbon fiber laminateson the lower edge of the beamsThe strength of the material is tested with three experiments: carbon fiber on the bottom of thebeam (a), carbon fiber attached to the lower sides of the beam (b) and carbon fiber in thebeam, covered with a layer of wood (c)The results show that the first case, where the carbon fiber is attached to the bottom of thebeam, gave the best result with an increase in capacity of 59 % compared to the nonreinforcedcontrol. The other two cases also show an improvement in capacity, beam-type 3had a capacity increase of 47% and beam-type 4 increased with 25 %Tests were also made with glulam beams reinforced with fiberglass, but these tests were notanalyzed in depth because the purpose was to compare the capacity to carbon fiber. Thisbeam improved its capacity by 40.3%.The tests show that carbon fiber as a reinforcement material for glulam is a good choice whenthere is a requirement for stronger cross-sections in both new production and renovation ofold buildings.

The private forest owners play a key role in the supply of round wood to the Swedish forest industry. Today it is a keen competition between forest companies about the wood from private forest owners. In order to get access to the wood from the private forestry you need to be an attractive collaboration partner, who can offer long-term collaboration, service at top-level, and acting for good prices to the forest owners. This work aims at analysing the situation on the market today. It gives Sveaskog purchase department a good view of the forest owners? opinion in general about the existing purchase activities. Forestry service level and Timber prices are determining factors for a successful relationship between forest company and forest owner.

I takt med ökad globalisering och konkurrens, runt om i världen, har kundernas preferenser förändrats. Detta har gjort att företagen måste kunna kalkylera bättre med faktorerna pris och kvalitet. Mot bakgrund av detta behandlar denna uppsats i vilken omfattning stora sågverksföretag arbetar med kalkylering i sin ekonomistyrning. Dels har jag beskrivit den arbetsgång som tillämpas vid kalkylering i branschen och dels har jag jämfört denna med arbetsgången vid så kallad ?target costing? (målkostnadskalkylering).

Bakgrund och problem: Sverige har stora skogstillgångar i förhållande till antalet invånareoch skogen har historiskt sett spelat en viktig roll för den svenska ekonomin. Under de senasteåren har branschen kännetecknats av låg lönsamhet. En verksamhetsgren har dock haft enpositivare utveckling - sågverken. Ett av företagen inom den så kallade sågbranschen, RörvikTimber, tillhörde under 2007 en av börsens absoluta kursvinnare. Därefter har börskursenfallit och aktien är idag lägre värderad än vad den var före uppgången.

Att välja en stomme av trä till ett flerbostadshus verkar också ha fördelar i de icke avhandlade aspekterna, t.ex. miljö och arbetsmiljö.För att uppfylla ljud-, brand- och fuktkrav i ett trähus krävs det avancerade byggsystem som innebär stor komplexitet i projekteringen vilket kräver ett nära samarbete mellan träprojektör och fabrikör. .

Transport, inmätning och lagring av timmer på timmerplanen är kostnadskrävande aktiviteter som påverkar svenska sågverks ekonomi i hög grad. I och med detta har flertalet svenska sågverk på senare år sett över internlogistiken och investerat i beslutsstöd på timmerplanen. Kåge sågverk som ägs av Norra Skogsägarna har i och med investering av en ny såglinje ökat produktiviteten på sågen. Sågverket har en brant stigande utvecklingskurva och vill se över arbetet på timmerplanen för att möta produktionsökningen. Syftet med denna studie är att göra en nulägesanalys av Kåge sågs timmerplan samt föreslå en ny timmerplansdesign.

Our purpose in this paper is to examine if there is any profitability for a company with a factory in the Timber industry to invest in a combined heat and power, CHP. Based on analysis and the results that the paper generates, we will give Derome AB a suggestion on how it is a profitable investment or not to installing in a CHP.By investing in a CHP plant, you can get a high efficiency, which means that companies can use their resources more effectively. The Swedish wood industry has by-products of production that can be used for combustion in their boiler which is an advantage.The essay is a qualitative study where we have a case company, Derome AB. In this company, we interviewed two employees who have knowledge in the study. They have helped us to provide information and data about their business.We chose to use the pay-off- and the net present value method, NPV, to see if there are profitable advantages for the investment.
