The aim of this thesis is to accomplish a user study on how e-book users experience the electronic book, the e-book, as an instrument for reading fiction. The study is based upon qualitative interviews with twelve e-book users and a small survey carried out at the Stockholm City Library. The purpose is to identify the users' incentive for choosing the e-book as a medium for reading fiction, elucidate if and how the interface of the e-book affects the reading experience, and distinguish if there are any factors common to the users in their choice of reading e-books. How the users look upon the future of the e-book is also discussed. Among the people asked in the survey we note little if any demand for the e-book as an instrument for reading fiction.

AbstractI denna studie kommer vi undersöka hur maskuliniteter framställs i utvalda exempel från tidningen King of Sweden. Vi vill besvara våra frågeställningar kring hur maskuliniteter uttrycks i de utvalda bild- och textexemplen från King och vilka uttryck och egenskaper som kan uttolkas tillhöra dessa. Vidare undrar vi om någon av dessa maskuliniteter kan tolkas som en föredragen och dominerande maskulinitetstyp tack vare de egenskaper och värden den representerar. Slutligen vill vi se till tidningens presenterade stadgar om förutbestämt uttryck och innehåll för att undersöka hur väl dessa stämmer in i de text- och bildexempel som väljs ut.För att försöka besvara frågeställningarna söker vi efter mönster i bild och text ur ett flertal nummer av tidningen. Dessa mönster tolkar vi som exempel på uttryck av tidningens sätt att framställa maskulinitet, där vi ser om samma typ av egenskaper eller uttryck återkommer i flertalet nummer.

The objective for this Master?s thesis is to study literary programs for infants at six Swedish public libraries, their relevance and importance for infants and how the infant?s perspective in the program design and implementation is taken into consideration. The questions I pose are: In which way do the programs take the infants need for development and their literary prerequisites into consideration? Which functions can the programs have for infants? I have used a qualitative method, based on deep interviews with six library staff, working with literary programs. A model was developed based upon Daniel Stern?s theories of the interpersonal world of the infant together with Joseph Appleyard?s reading development theory.

The association between social parameters (i.e. socio-economy and level of education) and voting behaviour has been reviewed and analysed based on data from municipal council elections in Stockholm and Gothenburg in 2002. Some social scientists argue that the class voting is in decline and that new social cleavages have emerged. However, by using regression analysis techniques, this study implies a strong dependence of voting behaviour on social parameters, such as socio-economic status (SES) and level of education. Socio-economy appears to be a dominant predictor in the analysis.

This bachelor thesis is studying the INTERREG cooperation between Denmark and Germany, and if there has been a change to the organization and the individual conditions due to the Danish regional reform in 2007. The research method used is semi-structured interviews and the participants are a mixture of politicians and civil servants. The study is based on two themes, change in work routines and cooperation, and change in visions and targets.The participants have experienced change, both positive and negative, in work routines and cooperation and to a lesser extent in visions and targets. Preparation is the key to success and makes the transition much easier, which has been the case for Denmark. Other mentioned aspects are more work due to more complicated applications, and that the politicians so far lack a regional perspective and tend to stick to the local.

In this thesis the construction of identity within the EU is discussed. A thesis problem in three dimensions is used to explain the purpose of the construction, its realization and the consequences of such identity. These aspects show the complexity of the problems related to identity construction on a structural level.By using a post-modern and a social constructivist theoretical approach identity is presented as socially constructed by discourse. The theory of discourse makes it possible to analyze the development of an identity forming discourse within the EU and its status today.With an approach inspired by critical theory, we use discourse analysis as a methodological tool to illustrate the ideas that govern discourse, and in what way it is related to the social reality.The analysis states that the purpose of identity constructing is the striving for legitimacy. Without identification, the legitimacy is threatened.

Elcertifikatsystemet infördes 2003 för att främja elproduktion från förnybara energikällor. Producenter av förnybar el tilldelas ett elcertifikat för varje producerad MWh och elleverantörer måste köpa in elcertifikat motsvarande en viss kvot av deras elförsäljning, vilket skapar en marknad för elcertifikat. Systemet har lett till att den förnybara elproduktionen från kraftvärme ökat, dels genom förändrad drift samt ökad andel förnybara bränslen i befintliga anläggningar och dels genom investeringar i nya anläggningar.2007 infördes en lagändring som tidsbegränsar tilldelningen av elcertifikat till en anläggning till maximalt 15 år. De kraftvärmeanläggningar som erhållit stöd sedan systemets införande kommer inte längre tilldelas elcertifikat efter 2012 eller 2014. Detta har lett till att flera kraftvärmeproducenter hävdar att de kommer att investera i nya anläggningar med huvudsaklig motivering att erhålla nya elcertifikat, snarare än att förbättra prestanda.

It often occurs that the spirit regarding the future as a conservator is rather pessimistic. Howcome that there are so few employed conservators, when the need for conservation obviouslyis big? What kind of changes is needed for a better status regarding the conservation?This thesis concerns the development of the field of conservation in Sweden. What havehappened, what will happen and, particularly, what should happen? The information wasgathered from literature studies and interviews during the spring of 2010.

Since 1993 the Swedish Forestry Administration conducts a nation-wide inventory of wood-land key habitats covering all forest land in Sweden. The inventory aims at mapping and describing habitats where redlisted species occur or can be expected to occur. According to the inventory stand history is crucial to the presence of red-listed species. However, the current knowledge of stand history in woodland key habitats is very limited. The purpose of this work is to describe stand history in woodland key habitats, i.e. fire history, human activities - mainly cuttings - and structural changes.

During the autumn of 2008 I obtained office experience by working at the local government of Örnsköldsvik. I started working on the district green plan of the green structure and that led to the work of this exam paper. The purpose of this exam paper has been to define some standpoints for the green structure of the local government district of Örnsköldsvik. I have used both a larger and a smaller scale to obtain a wide a perspective as possible of the green structure. The larger scale gives an overall view of the whole municipality while the smaller scale is found in the study of the two local areas Centrum and Domsjö. For the local government planning to be able to obtain an agreeable level of verdure to the residents it is necessary that the green structure is brought up on the agenda.

The essay explores nationalism in the curriculum of the swedish school from 1878 to 1994. The text has been undertaken an analysis in three levels of discourse based on Norman Faircloughs critical language analysis. The first level is the text, the second is types of discourses and the third is order of discourse.The nationalism in the curriculum has been related to three nationalistic types of discourses, derived from earlier studies on Swedish nationalism. They are conservative nationalism, ?folkhemsnationalism? and contemporary nationalism.

The aim of the study was to describe the oral health development among patients at the Public Dental Care clinic in Bromölla who made an agreement regarding Healthy Dental Care during the years 2001 and 2004, compared with patients who did not made such an agreement. The study material was obtained from dental journals in total at 150 patients. Data regarding age, sex, health status, tobacco use, plaque- and gingivitis values, pocket depht, initial- and manifest caries, risk assessments, preventive measures by dental personel and acute dental care between year 2001 and 2004 was obtained from dental results. Almost twice as many man made an agreement compared to women. Tobacco use was higher in control group both 2001 and 2004.

Uppsatsen behandlar balansen mellan EG-rätt och nationell processrätt. Genom att göra en grundlig utredning av artikel 234 samt att utreda vilka grunder som fanns för det motiverade yttrande kommissionen riktade mot Sverige i anledning av svenska domstolars hantering av artikel 234 vill jag visa på den beroendeställning som finns mellan nationella domstolar och EG-domstolen. Uppsatsen belyser också de svårigheter ett system, som bygger på förtroende och i stort sett saknar sanktioner, utsätts för när det utmanas av någon sida.De frågor som behandlas i uppsatsen är: Var den kritik som riktades mot Sverige avseende tillämpningen av artikel 234 befogad? Vilken betydelse hade den lagändring, som genomfördes efter kritiken, för kommissionens beslut att avsluta ärendet? Har de lagstiftningsåtgärder som genomfördes i samband med kritiken någon effekt på den faktiska tillämpningen av artikel 234 i svenska domstolar? Finns det sanktioner mot en medlemsstat om ett brott mot artikel 234 kan konstateras? Vilken betydelse har artikel 234 för det fortsatta samarbetet mellan EG-domstolen och de nationella domstolarna?EG-rätten är sedan Sveriges inträde i Europeiska unionen en del av den svenska rättsordningen. För att det EG-rättsliga systemet skall fungera förutsätts ett fungerande samarbete mellan EG-domstolen och de nationella domstolarna.

Denna uppsats dokumenterar uppkomst, frontpersoner och verksamhet för Dalarnes sjuksköterskeförening (DSF) mellan åren 1920-1933, vilket är en lokal sjuksköterskeförening som senare blev underavdelning till riksföreningen Svensk sjuksköterskeförening (SSF). DSF var den första lokala sjuksköterskeföreningen och startades 1920 av sjuksköterskor kring området Falun/Borlänge. Det var inte en elitförening likt SSF som i sin professionalisering enbart ville avskärma sig från de underordnade som biträden och kämpa för status och kalltanken. DSF var en förening som ville stärka kårandan men även arbeta för löne- och arbetsförhållandefrågor, vilket på den tiden egentligen hörde samman med socialistiska föreningar. I sin verksamhet ville de även få till stånd en platsbyrå för föreningens medlemmar.

Studien har undersökt möteskulturen vid tre funktioner på ett internationellt företag inom tillverkningsindustrin. Möteskulturen är avgränsad till mötenas strukturella beskaffenhet, deltagarnas interaktioner och hur man tar tillvara deltagarnas kompetens under arbetsmöten. Studien utgår från en materialnära metod där möteskulturen har studerats genom tre fokusgrupper med 20 respondenter. Resultatet tyder på tre liknande möteskulturer med både välfungerande, strukturerade möten och otydliga dysfunktionella möten. Kulturerna karaktäriseras av en hög kvantitet möten, en utbredd strävan efter konsensus, obalanserade deltagarroller som innebär att alla kompetenser inte tas tillvara på.
