The primary purpose of this essay is to study and describe how the concept of ?ethnicity? is introduced, defined and constructed at the Universities of Social Work Education through the perspectives of students attending and teachers/researchers currently employed at the University of Gothenburg. Also, this study attempts to describe what differences there are between the two groups and how these are expressed. The theoretical perspectives which we have used to analyse the empirical data are social constructivism and postcolonial theories. We have applied a qualitative method based on four interviews with teachers/researchers and two focus group interviews with 14 students.

Bakgrund: Den svenska hälso- och sjukvården står idag inför en mängd problem som kommer att förvärras i framtiden. Ökande kostnader, bristande tillgänglighet och växande förväntningar från medborgarna är några av problemen som måste lösas. För att möta dessa problem måste den svenska hälso- och sjukvården förändra sig, något som de historiskt har haft svårigheter med. I andra länder har man använt sig av designtänkande för att förändra sig, med goda resultat. Problem: Vilka faktorer är viktiga för att man ska kunna lösa upp det organisatoriska motståndet mot förändring inom den svenska hälso- och sjukvården? Syfte: Syftet med denna undersökning är att analysera och utvärdera designtänkande som hjälpmedel för förändring av hälso- och sjukvårdsorganisationen. Metod: Undersökningen är kvalitativ och består av en jämförelse mellan förändringsarbeten som genomförts med respektive utan designtänkande. Teorier: Professionsbyråkrati, dominerande idéer och företagets kultur, förändringsanalys, designtänkande och värdestjärnan. Empiri: 17 kvalitativa intervjuer med anställda vid tre sjukhus (Karolinska sjukhuset, S:t Görans sjukhus AB och Mälarsjukhuset) samt tre intervjuer med industridesigners som har genomfört förändringsarbete inom sjukvården. Analys: Analysen är uppdelad i två delar.

The study analyzes how this religious conversion has shaped and influenced the identity of mentioned women, as well as their attitude and relationship to the social environment prior to and after converting. This means that in accordance with the purpose of this study, an attempt to reveal the everyday life of these women will be performed. In order to make this study possible, three different methods will be put to use. A narrative method that touches upon the time leading up to and after the final converting and the impact of the conversion.

To investigate what this means for the library, I do a functional analysis of ideas of librarians' views on quality and how they work with purchasing, weeding and mediation. I have chosen to limit the essay to fiction for adults in Swedish public libraries. By combining the basal idea analysis, where I investigate librarians' ideas about quality, with an operational analysis of ideas, where I examine the effects librarians' quality ideas get for the daily work, Iwant to find out the librarians' quality ideals.The material I analyze consists of 18 questionnaires, filled out by librarians with responsibility for purchasing and / or thinning in libraries across Sweden. The analysis is done with an analytical schedule, that consists of a number of opposing ideal types taken from previous research on quality, purchasing, thinning or mediation.

The purpose of this study was to analyze and develop a workflow for assessing and representing the value of ecosystems to professionals involved in municipal planning. A thorough literature review was conducted and supplemented by interviews and observations. Frameworks for ecosystem service assessments were analyzed and combined with methods in urban planning in order to assess social and ecological conditions. A workflow was set up and methods were evaluated by applying them to a case study in the area Åstråket in Uppsala. Experience from the case study was compiled in order to improve the workflow.Complex assessments were identified and simplified for the method to be useful for practitioners.

Menopause is a complex, paradoxical totality and every menopausal experience is differentfrom the other. This essay aims to capture some of the experiences surrounding it.The main questions is what it is that the women of the study share about menopause, andhow they talk about it. The material consists of interviews with eight women from the ages 51to 81, all of whom are either in menopause or have come out of it, and narratives collectedpartly on my own website ?Övergången? (?Transition?) and on the Internet via blogs and adiscussion board on menopause.Using Goffmans theories on interaction and roles and theories about gender and age as asocial construction I discovered that it is ambiguous messages that are thrown at the middleaged woman in menopause. Menopause is not always a welcome part of the role as a woman.The menopause is also associated with aging and a woman is expected to experiencemenopause during a certain age and period in the life schedule, often the middle age.

This master's thesis sets out to explore information literacy in a contextualized learning environment with emphasis on students at a vocationally oriented program in the Swedish upper secondary school. The concept of information literacy is widely discussed and furthermore a common subject for research within the field of Library and Information Science. Information literacy can be described as a set of skills or a range of attributes defining an information literate person. The skills and/or attributes facilitating the development of critical Thinking and problem-solving skills are often linked to knowledge about computers and libraries.Another view on the concept of information literacy has been developed by the Australian researcher Annemaree Lloyd. She stresses the importance of social and physical information sources and that these also should be included in the development of information literacy.

BACKGROUND: Today?s societal changes, including high rate of change and increasing information flows, are increasing the demand on the individual mental capacity. It becomes increasingly difficult to analytically process all the different dilemmas and everyday decisions as individuals have a limited mental capacity available to make these decisions. Thus, it has been suggested that ego-depleted relies more heavily on intuition, which is less burdensome, when making decision. However little is known about to what extent intuitive decisions differ from analytic.

Omkostnaderna för ett byggprojekt i produktionen är höga och beror på hur länge det varar. Idag skiljer sig tidplanerna mellan de olika platscheferna mycket när projekten är snarlika, vilket innebär stora skillnader på täckningsbidraget. Skillnaderna på tidplanen beror på att platscheferna planerar på olika sätt där de inte har klara styrdokument. Det finns ett intresse hos JM att utveckla tidsplanering då det är ett styrande verktyg som till stor del påverkar projektens ekonomi. För att kunna dra slutsatser har vi studerat planeringsmetodiken där det idag finns brister.

The purpose of this thesis was to determine what materials should be used when creating a stimulating garden for intellectually handicapped people and whether there are materials that are better than others to use in this kind of environment. How the materials preferably can be used and how the environment should be designed to satisfy the need of each individual will also be discussed. Seriously intellectually handicapped people have the same level of intelligence as a normal 0-2 year old child. It is important to point out that these individuals can not be compared to a normal child in other aspects than the level of abstract Thinking and perception of reality. As the grown up intellectually handicapped people have remained a lot longer on this stage of intelligence they have got more experience. (Kylén 1981) It is important with a lot of different experiences for the brain to develop normally, which implies the use of many different materials to achieve the best stimulation (Kylén 1981).

I arbetet undersöks hur kunskap om systemtänkande och ekosystemtjänster kan användas vid utformning av ett produktionslandskap ansluten till fjärrvärme i området Elleholm i Karlshamns kommun. Anledningen till arbetets fokus är slutsatser om utbyggnad av resurshushållande växthussystem i Elleholm som drogs under masterkursen Energy Landscapes, våren 2014. Målet med examensarbetet har varit att bidra med djupare analys av växthusutbyggnad utifrån teori och att med en landskapsarkitektonisk vinkling rekommendera placering och utformning av utbyggnad inom ett avgränsat projektområde. Systemtänkande och ekosystemtjänster undersöktes först teoretiskt i en litteraturstudie och applicerades sedan praktiskt i en fallstudie. Litteraturstudien visar att systemtänkande baseras i en vetenskaplig teori, systemteori, som influerat flertalet discipliner och även påverkat teori inom landskapsarkitektur. Landskapet kan ses som ett komplext och öppet system med flera subsystem och systemnivåer. Begreppet ekosystemtjänster (ekosystemens direkta och indirekta bidrag till människors välbefinnande) har i sin tur uppkommit för att försöka påverka och styra samhällsplanering mot beslut som möjliggör ekosystem att fortsätta ?ge? människan ekosystemtjänster. Ekosystemtjänster kan ses som komponenter i ett landskapssystem. I fallstudien applicerades teori kring landskapssystemets nivåer och ekosystemtjänster för att få kunskap om system inom projektområdet i Elleholm.

The purpose of this thesis was to create a strategic/tactical road access plan. This was done by designing an analytical method which gives the road manager a template to create long-term road access plans. The analytical method will help to identify and appraise roads to be upgraded and give information when it is time for building new roads. The study method involved developing an analytical method. The method was comprised of five main parts: the harvest plan, analysis of the road network, transport costs, quality and storage costs and finally, identification of investment alternatives.

Thesis completed by Johan Arvidsson, Alex Rasooli and Pontus Winroth, students at master program Product development and Design at the School of Engineering in Jönköping Sweden. The project comprises 30 ECTS credits and was carried out during the semester in the autumn of 2007.It was carried out in cooperation with Eksjöverken AB, subcontractor within the truck industry with special knowledge within the area of complicated machinery construction work. Job initiators at Eksjöverken were Mats Svanberg and Kjell Nygard. Dag Holmgren was acting as a tutor from the university. The task was to develop tools for trucks, primary toolboxes but in case of time also under run protection.
