Avvikelser i energiprestanda

Calculated and measured energy in residential buildings is going to differ. The reason to this may be due to many factors. In this study there is a study on how these factors affect the energy use in a building. To get an insight in what defines energy, there is first a description of energy supply both worldwide and used in Sweden, followed by a description of the energy balance. In this study energy will be studied in residential buildings only.

Ickefarmakologiska metoder avsedda att lindra cancerrelaterad fatigue i samband med cytostatika behandling

Bakgrund: Cancer drabbar ca 50 000 personer varje år i Sverige. En vanligt förekommande behandling mot cancer är cytostatika. Cancerrelaterad fatigue definieras som en trötthet som uppkommer i samband med en cancersjukdom och som inte kan botas med vila eller sömn. Det är den mest förekommande biverkningen hos cytostatikabehandlade patienter och ger både psykiska, fysiska och ekonomiska konsekvenser. Farmakologiska behandlingar avsedda att lindra cancerrelaterad fatigue är kostsamma och medför biverkningar varför försiktighet rörande användandet av dessa bör iakttas.

The horse is a homeothermic animal and to keep a constant body temperature in winter season is important. Acclimatisation is to provide means for a good thermal insulation consisting of skin, hair, and an outer air layer. The skin covers the horses body and it is composed of three main layers where the top layer of the epidermis consists of dead keratinized cells that are constantly being sheed. The dermis is composed of collagen connective tissue that give the skin its strength. The bottom layer with subcutaneous fat provides a thermal insulation and can be used as an energy reserve in cold weather.

Undersökning av svetsförband med avseende på svetsgeometri, diskontinuiteter och blästring med stålkulor

Breakdowns of welded structures are usually a consequence of fatigue loading. Fatigue fractures are commonly initiated in the region close to the weld toe but can also initiate from the weld root and from discontinuities inside the weld. The purpose of this investigation was to examine the weld quality of welded joints produced at Volvo Wheel Loaders factory in Arvika. The goal of the investigation is to give a clearer insight regarding factors influencing the fatigue strength of the welded joints and thereby give a better foundation for fatigue strength calculations.The investigation is including examination of the weld geometry, weld discontinuities and the effects of shot peening. Mainly three different methods for collecting test data have been used: Plastic replicas cast on the weld profile, weld specimens from a rear frame belonging to a wheel loader of model L110E/120E and Almen testing of the shot peening.The results showed that it is not possible to control even transition between the weld material and the base material without after treatment.

Trötthet/fatigue upplevs av många som ett av de svåraste symptomen som inverkar starkt på det vardagliga livet. MS-relaterad fatigue/trötthet ger en känsla av utmattning och brist på energi som kan vara överväldigande. Tröttheten är orimlig i förhållande till de aktiviteter som utförs. Syftet med uppsatsen var att beskriva hur det är att leva med MS-relaterad fatigue/trötthet.

The starting point for this master thesis was the product of the company "Humlegården", which allows its tenants in office buildings to follow their electricity consumption in real time, through their Smartphone's. The idea that resulted from that application is to investigate if it is possible to direct the tenants in office buildings to reduce their energy consumptions, but also to be satisfied with the indoor environment. This work addresses the factors which are the main energy consumers in office buildings. It addresses legal requirements and standards which are important to follow in order to achieve good thermal comfort in buildings. Some of them are physical climate factors like thermal environment, air quality and lightning.

Att leva med MS en litteraturstudie om MS-patienters erfarenheter av fatigue

Multiple Skleros (MS) är en autoimmun sjukdom som främst drabbar unga personer mellan 20 till 40 år. Prevalensen att drabbas av MS är 1 per 1000 invånare. Trötthet (fatigue) som är ett av de vanligaste symtomen bland MS patienter påverkar den drabbades liv negativt. Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva MS-patienters erfarenheter av fatigue. Metoden som använts är en litteraturstudie som har utförts utifrån sex vetenskapliga kvalitativa artiklar.

This master?s degree project concerns the combination of a multi dwelling passive house with solar energy for the generation of electricity and domestic hot water (DHW). Different alternatives with either solar thermal systems or photovoltaic (PV) systems are compared with two reference alternatives producing DHW from electricity or district heating. The economical comparison uses a life cycle cost (LCC) perspective based on the present value of expenditures for investment, energy and annual operating and maintenance.The energy yields from the solar energy systems were calculated by hand and with simulation software. Calculation and dimensioning of PV systems were carried out with a software called PVSYST.

Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva det stöd som bröstcancerdrabbade kvinnor ansåg vara av stor betydelse under sjukdomstiden samt att belysa kvinnornas känslor i samband med sjukdomen utifrån begreppen coping och fatigue. Studien utfördes med hjälp av 25 vetenskapliga artiklar från åren 1993-2004. Artikelsökningen har skett via databaserna Elin, PubMed, Blackwell-Synergy och Elsevier (Science Direct). Sökorden som användes enskilt eller i kombination var breast cancer, fatigue, care, coping strategies, experience, information, nursing och support. Urvalet av artiklar gjordes utifrån syfte och frågeställningar.

This report describes the building of a computer model that makes it possible to simulate the thermal climate in a greenhouse. The computer model is built on the physical theory of heat exchange that occur in a greenhouse, such as radiation and convective heat exchange. The model also includes the heat storage that is active in a greenhouse.The computer model is used to simulate the thermal climate in a greenhouse under three periods, winter, spring and summer. It also investigates which effect a concrete wall has on the thermal climate in a greenhouse. The purpose of putting a concrete wall in the greenhouse model is to investigate the possibility to store heat during the day and then use this heat when the temperature drops during the night.The result from the simulations shows that a concrete wall levels the big difference in temperature that normally occurs under a day in a greenhouse.
