I have statistically worked up a material from 228 graves from the late Iron Age in the area of Mälardalen.In my material I have gathered the incidence of combs, knifes, beads, weapons whetstones and torshammarsrings.I have found that beads are overrepresented in graves of women and whetstones in graves of men. I only found weapons in graves from male.I found no indication from my statistic hypothesis (Z-test) that a grave that contains more than three beads should define the grave of a woman. A grave that contains a lot of beads, more than 20, consider I as a female gender.Combs, knifes and torshammarsring are considered as gender neutral..

This study examines how the stock prices are affected when articles, which negatively describe the companies? incentive programs, are published. According to the efficient market hypothesis, only new information should have an effect on the stock price. Furthermore, this study aims to examine whether this reaction is dependent of the economic climate. During the period of September 2005 to September 2009, stock price data was collected from the NasdaqOMX stock exchange and 75 articles were gathered from leading Swedish newspapers.

This thesis investigates how different Linux-distributions installation interface relate to the ISO 9241 standard, parts 12 and 13, and how they relate to the installation interface of Windows XP, with the hypothesis: "There is a Linux-distribution whose installation interface according to applicable HCIrecommendations is equivalent to that of Windows XP." With the checklists provided by ISO 9241 an empirical study has been made, and so comparable measurements of how well the Linux-distributions and Windows XP follows the recommendations of the standard was obtained. By comparing the results from the tests similarities and differences between the installation interfaces can be deducted. As the result and the conclusion shows there are Linux-distributions whose installation interface, according to the applicable HCI-recommendations, are equivalent to that of Windows XP..

The implementation of integration policy has in recent times been a major problem for the municipal administrations in Swedish municipalities. The concept of integration is considered to be very diffuse, difficult to apply and implement the following decisions. To understand the concept of integration is the first step, followed by understanding its complexity in an organization.In this study, I focus on studying the implementation of integration policies for integration work with Kalmar Municipality as a case study. I am using Lundquist's implementation theory about understanding, able and willing. The survey consists primarily of interviews but also a certain document to get a perspective on how integration policy has gone into integration work with the hypothesis that it is the understanding that weaknesses of the officials in the implementation of integration policies.

Den produktiva skogsarealen i Sverige som är grandominerad utgörs av 9,5 miljoner ha(Skogsstyrelsen 2011). Varav knappt 0,2 miljoner ha står på torr mark (personlig kommunikation Göran Kämpe, 2015). Problematiken i södra Sverige är att gran planteras på allt för torra marker, eftersom att tall anses för osäkert pga av betestrycket av vilt. I undersökningen utreds om och när tillväxten avtar för granen på torrare marker i sydöstra Sverige med hjälp av bestämning av ståndortsindex (SI).  Höjdtillväxten har, med hjälp av borrning/kapning på olika trädhöjder, rekonstruerats i granbestånd för en hel omloppstid. Detta har utförts på två olika lokaler där tall hade varit det naturliga valet och där granen bedöms lida av vattenbrist. Fokusområdet är ifall höjdtillväxten och SI avtar för granen på tall/torra marker under omloppstiden, som kan ses som en indikation på granknytning.Resultatet visar att granbestånden har ett betydligt högre ståndortindex i ungskogsfasen jämfört med när beståndet är äldre.

The primary goal of this study was to investigate how the radial growth of retained trees responds after thinning-from-above. The National Board of Forestry which initiated this study, was interested in whether there were differences in the growth-response between the tree species Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.). Another question of issue was if there were differences in the growth response between trees of different sizes. It is within the framework of the National Board of Forestry?s, Continuous Forests Project that these urgent questions are to be answered.

Det empiriska underlaget till den här uppsatsen utgörs av kvalitativa intervjuer genomförda på en tingsrätt med parter och vittnespersoner. Genom en analys av dessa intervjuer syftar uppsatsen till att utröna om den information som ges till parter och vittnespersoner inför och under en domstolsförhandling påverkar hur säkra de känner sig i sin roll under förhandlingen.Utöver de frågor som kretsar kring parter och vittnens upplevelser av säkerhet i den egna rollen och säkerhet i vad som förväntas av dem under en förhandling, ställs även frågor som ämnar undersöka om information bidrar till att parter och vittnen vet vad som händer i övrigt i samband med en förhandling. Frågorna undersöker också om den information som kommer från tingsrätten upplevs som tydlig och lätt att förstå. Vidare söker intervjufrågorna utröna om informationen påverkar om parter och vittnespersoner känner förtroende för rättsväsendet i stort och den aktuella domstolen i synnerhet, vilket i sig är en mycket viktig fråga.Studien, i vilken det teoretiska ramverket utgörs av processuell rättvisa, transmissionssyn och meningsskapande syn på kommunikation, kommer fram till att den information som ges till parter och vittnespersoner inför och under en domstolsförhandling påverkar hur säkra de känner sig i sin roll under förhandlingen.Genom att sammankoppla processuell rättvisa och meningsskapande syn på kommunikation bidrar studien till forskning om kommunikation och information på domstol. The purpose of this essay is to analyze the ideological development of the former communist parties and the contemporary left-wing socialist parties of the Nordic countries. It is aimed at the two decades that have passed since the collaps of the Berlin wall and the parties at hand are; the Norwegian Sosialistisk Venstre, the Danish Socialistisk Folkeparti, the Swedish Vänsterpartiet and the Finnish Vasemmistoliitto. Since the 1960´s these parties have undergone major ideological changes with reference to a widening of their political agenda to an inclusion of democratic ideals as well as the new ideologies of feminism and ecologism. Thus reforming them into modern left-wing socialist parties at different times. The main hypothesis is formulated from the idea that there must be a connection between the startingpoint of reformation and the degree of modernism/traditionalism they show today.

Health and fitness are two controversial and not easily defined topics that affect people in our modern society every day. We believe that we can find a link between individualism, globalization and the stress concerning weight and appearance ideals. Our bodies have turned into a popular subject for the media, and there is no indication that the interest will decline. As the world gets more artificial, "natural" ideals are getting more attention, such as the concept of a strong and healthy body. But there is also a downside, for example with health issues such as cardiovascular disease increasing following the birth of high-fat diets.

This thesis analyses how a radiology department at the largest hospital in Sweden, Karolinska University Hospital, most profitably could expand its capacity for investigating cancer patients using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The queues today for patients waiting to be scanned are long, which delays the start of cancer treatments. Meanwhile the hospital has a budget deficit of half a billion SEK, which make any expansion hard. In this thesis we evaluate the alternatives of investing in new machinery; utilize the current machinery better by using them more days annually or through a shift work system. Finally we evaluate a combination of these.

The essay aims to show n interpretation of Vampyr and Ordet; seen from a viewpoint Kierkegaards christian existentialism can enhance the understanding of mentioned movies. Central notions from Ks philosophy are explained and then the author points to examples of how this corresponds with the essence of the two movies.The argumentation is based on Ks thoughts on faith and human existence. Other theories concerning Dreyers movies, and to some extent his background, is also discussed.Finally the author concludes that he was right in his hypothesis: that it is possible to show an influence from Kierkegaards christian, existentialistic thoughts in the two movies.Moreover the author thinks that the chosen perspective works as a complement to other written material on the movies and that other writers on the subject have some problems summing up the contents of the movies from their different perspectives.The final conclusion is thus that an interpretation of the movies from a Kierkegaardian viewpoint increases the understanding of the same movies.
