I övergången från industrialism till post-industrialism förändras städernas ekonomiska förutsättningar och ökar konkurrensen. Städer som tidigare haft en god tillväxt med bas i tillverkningsindustri drabbas av konkurrens från länder som tillhandahåller billigare arbetskraft. I den här situationen väljer många städer att satsa på att stärka sin attraktivitet samt marknadsföra sig för att locka till sig nya invånare, nya företag, turister, externt kapital. En strategi är att satsa på kultur och evenemang. Värdskapet för evenemang kan vid första anblick framstå som en odelat positiv och oproblematisk företeelse, något som gagnar staden med alla dess invånare samt även regionen och landet som helhet.

Vi reser allt mer och vi reser allt längre. Till följd av vidgade arbetsmarknader och en ökad klimatmedvetenhet har tågresandet fått större fokus, och orter med järnvägsstationer har fått ökat intresse både för in- och utpendling. Ett välplanerat stationsområde kan vara avgörande för en stationsorts attraktivitet samtidigt som de är bland de mest komplexa områdena att planera. Sambanden mellan den fysiska utformningen av stationens närområde och människors transportval kan vara svår att uppfatta. För att kunna presentera planeringsförslag i ett stationsnära läge krävs därför grundliga analyser av ortens lokala planförhållanden. Syftet med detta kandidatarbete är att utvärdera analysmetoder för bedömning av orter i stationsnära lägen som kan appliceras på Herrljunga tätort, genom att studera tre handböcker från andra delar av Sverige.

Examensarbetet redogör för byggproduktionsplanering med en fördjupning inom tidsplaneringsmetoder- och verktyg, vilka kan användas som hjälpmedel inom området.  Inom fördjupningen gjordes två praktiska försök och intervjuer genomfördes för att få en verklig bild av hur planeringen fungerar, samt för att få feedback på försöken.  Arbetet resulterade i slutsatsen att olika planeringsmetoder bör användas i olika skeden av byggproduktionsplaneringen, samt att de olika planeringsmetoderna är till olika nytta för de varierande arbetsrollerna i en byggorganisation.  Man kan med fördel använda sig av en kombination av planeringsmetoderna, CPM, LOB och den relativt okända ?Kontinuitetsmetoden? när man planerar och styr sin byggproduktion.

Recent years there has been discussed how the critical situation in the housing market threatens the Stockholm region's growth. The thesis objective is to examine whether there is a scientific link between the lack of housing supply and growth. The thesis also intends to identify solutions for increased housing construction, for instance by examining the conditions for a greater regional perspective and influence on the region's housing supply. The thesis empirical study is based on semi-structured interviews with representatives from the Government, municipalities and the housing industry.In Sweden, research on the relationship between housing shortages and growth has not been conducted to that extent it can be said to exist scientific evidence regarding the growth threat. However, in Britain and the U.S, empirical studies show that a lack of housing supply has hindered growth through negative impact on countries' gross domestic product.

AbstractIn my study I have investigated how a constructed outdoor green environment can beused, managed and how it works. The study also investigates the concept of socialsustainability, where, for example, civil dialogue is a method to promote this. Thisinvestigation mainly gives account for the inhabitants viewpoint but also a gardenersperspective. The study focuses on The planning process of the study object, what theoutcome has been and how the users of the green environment, think about the result. Inthe process there has been a strong concern of involving the residents and others usingthe area.

This final project discusses renewal and upgrading of the area of Prim. It is discussed how this industrial area can be an attractive neighborhood with a varied range of services and commercial trade. Prim is located 2km north-east of the center of Barcelona. The area boarders to a deep railway valley that historically has separated Prim from its neighboring districts. At present there is almost no housing, services or commercial trade within the area and the industry is discontinued or the existing industrial buildings are derelict. There is also a lack of green recreational areas.

Safety in the construction industry has become a question of top priority in recent years. Despite a massive investment of time, money and knowledge, the occur-rence of fatal accidents in Sweden alone is around one a month.The purpose of this study is therefore to improve the safety on the construction site. By an examination of the role of the safety agents and their cooperation with the construction workers and supervisors as well as examine how safety agents can improve safety on the construction site, which is the goal of the study.Four questions were formulated based on the purpose and the goal of the study.The methods used to answer the questions were a questionnaire survey, multiple interviews, a literature review and a document analysis.The report describes the safety agent?s role as a complex one with many different tasks. The role of the safety agents is regulated in the health and safety law, but it can sometimes be difficult to interpret and the agents can therefore interpret their role differently.

In Scandinavia today many old harbour areas are developed into residential and commercial areas. For example are both Helsingborg city and Malmoe city in south Sweden planning to restructure some of their harbour areas to accommodate shops, schools, offices, residences et cetera. In Copenhagen in Denmark new plans for Nordhavn is also underway. In almost every plan proposal to redevelope an old harbour area the harbour activities are set a side to give room for new development. In Reykjavik, however, this has not been the case.

Flera svenska kommuner använder sig av den amerikanska professorn Richard Floridas teori om den kreativa klassen och ?creative cities? i sin marknadsföring. Syftet med mitt kandidatarbete är att undersöka om svenska kommuner är kreativa enligt Floridas teori. En jämförande fallstudie har gjorts där tre kommuner som använder sig av Florida i sin marknadsföring har undersökts. Kommunerna är Södertälje, Botkyrka och Ronneby.

Sustainable Development is often described as a balance between ecological, economical and social aspects. Between these exists a complicated interaction that creates conflicts in the planning of the landscape. We see a growing need for a functional interaction between values and interest and an understanding for different perspectives. Cooperation and dialogue are key ideas with the focus on cooperation rather than the goal. There is a lack of forum for dialogue and cooperation within municipalities where a great knowledge and competence are gathered.

Dagens samhälle är helt beroende av transporter. Av alla de olika typer av transporter som finns inriktar sig denna rapport på persontransporter. Ytterligare preciserat så handlar uppsatsen om intraurbana persontransporter och kollektiva lösningar på detta. Rapporten är en jämförande fallstudie och har som mål att belysa hur olika kommuner motiverar när en större kollektivtrafiksatsning skall göras. Innan fallen presenteras ges en bakgrund i några av de problem och förutsättningar som finns inom ämnet.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the employers? responsibilities for rehabilitation ofemployees in Sweden, who due to illness or injury are unable to work. The process of therehabilitation will be analyzed in a gender perspective. A minor comparative study aboutrehabilitation in Denmark will also be carried out. The purpose is to see how the process ofthe rehabilitation is designed for those who due to illness or injury are unable to work, whichfactors that affects the rehabilitation and which differences there are between Denmark andSweden regarding the employers responibility for rehabilitation.

The purpose of this paper has been to study the relationships and attitudes of a few teachers and librarians as to their co-operation in a combined public and upper secondary school library and to find out what circumstances there may be to exert an influence on their work. The paper has been based upon qualitative interviews with upper secondary school teachers and librarians as well as on studies of literature relating to our issue. We believe there may be different approaches to the learning process, as these are the relations and attitudes of two professions from different trades. That is why our point of departure has been Roger Säljö's theory about learning and, in our analysis, a few of Jean Donham van Deusen's ideas of joint planning and flexible timetabling. All respondents agreed that co-operation could be better, but the teachers were of the opinion that it must not interfere with their time.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the organizational buying behaviour in the purchase of travels abroad. We have conducted a case study of two companies, one medium sized and one larger. Our empirical studies have shown that the companies? buying process is divided into two types, the process of recruit a new travel supplier and the process of a straight rebuy of a regular travel service. In the recruiting process we found that the evaluation process of the purchase is an ongoing process that contradicts estab-lished theories.

Uppsatsen riktar sig till att öka tillgängligheten för äldre i Galgamarken, ett område som pekas ut som ett typisk exempel för problemet. Problemet är mycket aktuellt med en befolkning vars andel äldre ökar. Enligt regler fastslagna av Förenta nationerna, regler som Sverige beslutat att följa, så ska svenska myndigheter planera för samhällets svagaste grupper. Teori av goda lösningar som möjliggör god tillgänglighet gås igenom och olika forskares synpunkter ger en bred bild på hur lösningarna kan utformas. Genom användning av stråkstrategi så identifieras stråk med särskilt behov av åtgärder. Åtgärdas de utvalda stråken så kommer den generella tillgängligheten öka på Galgamarken. Situationen mellan teori och praktiskt utförande analyseras.
