Tail-biting in pigs is an animal welfare issue and in Sweden during 2002 the producers lost tree million Swedish crowns because of tail biting. This economic loss depends on the pigs which are discarded at slaughter because of tail biting. Tail biting can be separated into two stages, "pre-injury" and "injury". The aim of this study is to investigate if tail biting depends on environment or genetic background.A lot of research on the environments effects on the behaviour of pigs but not so much on the genetic effects has been performed. The frequency of tail biting in pig farms influence among others of environment enrichment, ventilation, gender and breed of the pig.

Reality-tv är ett fenomen som överskrider gränser och är på så vis utmärkande i sitt slag. Gränsdragningar mellan fiktion- och faktagenrerna inom tv-kulturen blir med tiden allt svårare att tyda. Det brukar benämnas ?faktion? eller ?infotainment?, som innebär underhållning, sensationalism och ?human interest? prioriteras. En av de reality-program som uppmärksammats är Kungarna av Tylösand, det gav upphov till en diskussion i medier om ansvartagandet då sex och alkohol hamnade i fokus.Genom att reality-tvgenren benämns som ?infotainment? så borde ansvaret hos produktionsbolag vara viktigt.

In Europe, the central governments are the ones to coordinate the international standards and strategies regarding GPP; Green Public Procurement. However in Spain a GPP program was introduced late and only applied to the Central Government Institutions, (AGEA) (BOE nr. 027, 2008). These means that smaller administrations, such as, Autonomous Regions, Municipalities and Town Councils were not included in the program. The absence of a national program which excludes those governments made them introduce their own criteria for GPP, and the difference in criteria varies from one government to the other.

De sociokulturella teorierna försöker ge en förklaring till hur lärande går till. TIU är en metod som syftar till lärande och därför tittar vi i denna undersökning på vad de sociokulturella teorierna säger om fyra valda TIU-program. Materialet till denna studie är hämtat från eget material, litteratur samt studenter i Oslo. De olika ursprungskällorna medförde att materialet ursprungligen såg ut på olika sätt, men det har bearbetats för att få en enhetlig form. Det bearbetade materialet analyseras utifrån Olga Dysthes sex centrala aspekter i sociokulturell teori om lärande, samt Vygotskijs teori om ?den närmaste utvecklingszonen?.

Genom att skaffa och införa ett geografiskt informationssystem (GIS) kan en organisation utnyttja sin geografiska information på ett bättre sätt och både effektivisera arbetet och skapa bättre beslutsunderlag. En utmaning vid införandet är att sprida användningen av systemet. Storumans kommun har införskaffat ett GIS men inte börjat använda det fullt ut utan har stannat i införandets första fas vilket har gjort att de inte kunnat tillgodogöra sig de fördelar systemet kan ge. Syftet med detta arbete är att öka kommunens användning av deras GIS-program Solen genom att uppdatera programmet med geografisk information som kan användas i förvaltningarnas verksamhet.Genom en fokusgrupp, intervjuer och observationer har jag kommit fram till vilken geografisk information som kommunen behöver i systemet och därefter har jag lagt in den. Studiens slutsats konstaterar att användningen ökar med mer och uppdaterad information i GIS-programmet.

The governments expenditure was far greater per capita than both that of USA and Soviet Union and included massive evacuation plans for Stockholm and other large cities in Sweden, with the hopeful expectation to bring down the amount of people in each of them to 15000 in case of a foreign hostile nuclear attack. The policies included construction of shelters with room for 2,5 million of about 7 million citizens in total at the time along with gasmasks for the whole population. Not only this, Sweden was considered one of the biggest military powers of that time in relation to its size and population.

Tecken finns på att det objektorienterade paradigmet börjar tappa sinstatus som den oomstridda lösningen inom systemutveckling. Nya idéerkommer in och ställer grundläggande programmeringsprinciper påända. Vad kan ett deklarativt förhållningsätt tillföra och vad innebär detatt programmera funktionellt? Variabler är en viktig komponent i denprogrammering som huvudsakligen bedrivs idag. Variabler tillhör detimperativa paradigmet i vilket programmeraren i hög grad beskriverhur beräkningar skall utföras av datorn.

India is home to every sixth person in the world, some 30 million dogs and a quarter of the total world cattle population. A vast majority of Indians are Hindus, and even though the Hindu religion proclaims love, nurturing and worshipping of animals, sometimes the same religion constitutes an obstacle for animal welfare in practice. This paper investigates the significance of historic and religious symbols to the way animals are perceived in modern Indian society, as well as the different social factors which underlie attitudes to animals. The concept of karma, as well as that of good versus bad deaths, is probably the foundation of the general Hindu reluctance to euthanasia in any form. Although in theory all species are generally regarded as equal in Hinduism, in practice there seems to be a differentiation; for cultural, religious, medical and financial reasons.

Since energy simulations are used to verify that projected residential buildings will reach the current energy requirements it is important that the results are reliable.This report investigates the extent of uncertainty in energy simulations, estimates the causes of the uncertainty and its economic and environmental consequences.The method used in this report is based on three validation methods; empirical validation, analytical validation and comparative validation. The analysis was carried out for five multi-family dwellings in Uppsala with installed meters for energy measurements. One of these objects, Klockarlunden, was studied in more detail than the others.The results show that the deviations are between 10 and 29% for the studied objects, which means that the uncertainty is estimated to be at least 29%. All simulations underestimate the buildings need of energy. The simulation for Klockarlunden can predict the energy consumption to be within the range of 46-98 kWh/m2year with 90% confidence level based on the current uncertainty.

Personal interviews were conducted with four employees in real estate companies and two tenants in each company stock.Conclusion:We have found that communication affects the relationship between company and customer. Tentants have experinced credibility of businesses is important for them to have a confidence and loyalty in the relationship. .
