My intention with this essay has been to examine how men?s tears are portrayed in three chosen films and what their crying does to their masculinity. In my analysis I have used the concept of hegemonic masculinity. I have worked from the assumption that in our culture men?s crying is problematic in some sense.

Vi hör ofta att vi har kommit långt i jämställdhetsfrågan i Sverige och på många punkter har vi det också. Men på andra kan man tro att vi fortfarande lever kvar i 1800-talet. Ett exempel är de svenska teaterscenerna. En stor del av pjäserna som spelas på de statliga scenerna runt om i landet är klassiker, pjäser skrivna i början av 1900-talet och innan. Och rollerna blir därefter.

The leaders are they who create the change but the co-workers are they who make it happen. In the process of change, leadership and the leaders capacity to create motivation for the co-workers, is therefore a matter that is decisive to its success.This is a study based on a qualitative method, where the interview is the main source of empirical material.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this essay has been to analyse an incident that received huge attention in the media that took place on February 24 2011 involving the famous fashion designer John Galliano. Galliano who at the time served as a creative director at French luxury fashion house Dior hurled anti-Semitic remarks during an altercation to a couple at Paris café La Perle. We intended to do a study of the material in two parts. The primary focus of our thesis was to analyse six different newspaper articles that involved the incident. We chose to analyse three articles from Great Britain and three from the United States to get a versatile image of the incident.

The purpose of this work is to explore the artistic processes of an ensemble where a musician and one or more dancers play together, either by improvising or by interpreting music that is written for the ensemble. The main themes are about finding ways to work with written material and still keep the communication between the music and the dance alive. The author is also interested in finding ways of identifying himself in the medium of dance although he is a musician. This essay analyzes the production process in connection with the original play Utopia 2012, which premiered at Backa Theatre, Gothenburg, Sweden on 27 October 2012.The aim of the essay is to seek a deeper understanding of this particular production process. No universal process plan was employed when creating Utopia 2012. Therefore, taking into account artistic, technical and administrative aspects of the work, a chronological process map has also been constructed in connection with this essay, in order to clarify each step of the theatrical working process.The theoretical approach is hermeneutic, and the material is based on interviews with key individuals with different professions and functions within the working process in order to gain multifaceted perspectives and results. The interviews took place at Backa Theatre with the exception of those held by telephone with the project?s two producers, both of whom by that time no longer worked at Backa Theatre.The findings of the essay mostly indicate that, with the significant exception of director Mattias Andersson?s artistic vision, no fixed process map nor explicitly articulated common goals were employed in this particular theatre production.

Ever since Thomas More?s book Utopia was published in 1516, theutopian idea has not lost its topicality and has been strongly rootedin literature, art, film and architecture. Utopia can be seen as a statein which utopia allows a space for wishes, dreams and a desire forsomething better. In my degree project I have chosen to explore thehistorical utopian ideas to create a content that treats utopia on asubjective level. With visual communication as a starting point I havetried to fixate this state in a book.

Det grundläggande syftet med den här studien är att få en fördjupad förståelse för hur en plats påverkar det som är och bildas där: människor, möten och kunskap.Undersökningen är en etnografisk studie som handlar om vad det är som utspelar sig i en bildsal, hur miljön upplevs och erövras av eleverna. Med stöd i kunskapsfilosofiska, i första hand sociokulturella och fenomenologiska teorier, försöker jag att få en större insikt i förutsättningar för lärande, handling, upplevelse och hur platsen inverkar på allt detta.Jag har i uppsatsen arbetat parallellt med text och gestaltning. Mitt material består av intervjuer, fältobservationer och visuellt i form av film, skisser och fotografi. Utgångspunkten i arbetet är att kunskap skapas i mötet och att rummet ger olika möjligheter för aktivitet och möten.Den gestaltande delen av uppsatsen är en undersökning av vad det är som är ett möte och vad dess förutsättningar är.

Our increasingly globalized world has contributed to that more Swedish companies has expanded their business to more distant areas. One of these Swedish companies that now stands before their first international expansion is the Swedish fast-food chain Max AB. Max has chosen to start their expansion in Saudi Arabia, a country far away from Sweden, not only in terms of geographical distance but also in cultural. The cultural differences that Max will encounter may affect the business and result in to various adaptations that must be done in order to establish successfully. The thesis investigates the existing circumstances for the fastfood business in Saudi Arabia and shows which adaptations international fast-food chains should or must do as a result of the cultural distances they encounter.

Title: "Oh how brightly May-sun shines?". I have chosen to write about culture differences in music. My purpose with this study is to unite two music cultures into one piece of art. Through my story and film you can see my attempt to teach a men's choir two songs in ten rehearsals.

Den här uppsatsen handlar om hur film marknadsförs via trailrar, exemplet är filmen Lejonkungen från 1994 och dess uppföljare samt en nyutgåva. Syftet är att undersöka vad det är som hamnar i fokus i filmernas trailrar, vad de har gemensamt och vad som skiljer dem åt, samt hur berättelsen förnyas. Uppsatsen tar upp forskning om high concept, trailrar och Disney för att få en teoretisk grund till analysen av vad som hamnar i huvudsakligt fokus i trailrarna och vad det fyller för funktion. Vårt syfte med vårt gestaltande examensarbete är att få svar på hur två 18 åriga tjejer, Minna som läser bild och form på gymnasiet och Miranda som hoppat av skolan upplever/upplevde skolan, hur de ser tillbaka på ett tidigare projektarbete, ?lära på riktigt? som genomförts tillsammans med oss då de gick i niondeklass, samt hur skolan utmanar/utmanat dem. Vi valde att låta vår undersökning resultera i en film. Filmen innehåller dokumenterat material med kvalitativa intervjuer med Minna och Miranda, deras estetiska uttryck samt vår personliga gestaltning av projektet. Genom kvalitativa intervjuer och samtal med informanterna fick vi flera bilder av skolan och vilken inverkan den har/haft på informanternas liv.

Vi hade en skissuppgift i bo?rjan av kandidatprojektet, da?r vi skulle fundera o?ver va?r passion till arkitekturen. Min passion kan vara minnet av en byggnad, ett rum, da?r jag ka?nt ett sug i magen. Jag inspireras av film, teater, foto och konst.

Animerade filmer görs idag till störst del av stora företag som har en rejäl budget och arbetskraft. Är det möjligt att göra en hel animerad kortfilm ensam med hjälp av endast program som är gratis?. I det här examensarbetet redogörs om det är möjligt att göra en animerad kortfilm helt själv under begränsad tidsram och begränsade förutsättningar. Jämförelser mellan kommersiell programvara och open-source kommer att göras, där programmen jämförs som helhet och i sina individuella funktioner.

This is a two years master?s thesis in Archive, Library and Museum studies, which purpose is to find out what ideas there are about school libraries and to get an idea of how informants interpret the new Education Act, which requires all students to have access to school libraries. Another intention of this paper is to highlight the potential rural-related attitudes of the responents. The study includes the sparsely populated municipality of Krokom and is based on interviews with librarians, the school director, principals and politicians who work there. The theoretical basis for this paper is Loertscher?s model för school libraries and a centerperiphery perspective.
