Our purpose is to analyse three different epistemological discourses that exist in the social practice, Library and Information Science LIS, using the strategy for interpretation from the mimesis model by Paul Ricoeur and the terms from the critical discourse analysis by Norman Fairclough. The aim is also to explore there different views of knowledge organisation. We review previous research involving epistemology, knowledge organisation and discourse analysis in LIS. These show that there are many different epistemological standpoints and that later research has shown a more critical and sceptical state of knowledge organisation than earlier traditional positivist ideals. Discourse analysis is described as an important theory and method in LIS.

My essay aims to explore, "What image is conveyed by the stone mason's life and work on Korpåsberget". In my essay I have been working with respondent interviews to examine the purpose. I've been trying to get interviewees to talk freely, but have also had a number of indicative questions for support. In order to process and understand the interviews, I also have a part in the essay aiming to provide background information to the stone industry in Bohuslän, an area along the westcoast in Sweden, and foremost in the area of Bovallstrand.The text discusses the stone industry's development in the area, its development and the time until the stone industry at large was closed. As for the stone industry in Bovallstrand I have chosen to focus on the largest quarry in society, namely the Korpåsberget. The background text also briefly covers stonecutter?s lives and work.

Denna studie inriktar sig mot läsförståelseundervisning och vikten av att förstå läst text. Studiens syfte är att undersöka lärarnas uppfattning om hur undervisning i läsförståelse bedrivs i grundskolan respektive grundsärskolan. Genom att använda den deskriptiva aspekten på intervjuer försöker vi påvisa både fakta och mening utifrån respondenternas svar. Vi har använt oss av @ografi som undersökningsmetod. Detta innebär att insamling av rådata sker genom intervjuer via mail. Svenska elevers läsförståelse har försämrats det senast decenniet vilket framkommer i den internationella undersökningen PISA 2009.

The bachelor thesis examines conceptions behind the Swedish public librarian?s opinions of the public library as a meeting place. The study uses the critical discourse analysis, developed by Ernest Laclau and Chantal Mouffe, to analyze a focus group interview. The discourse analysis identifies four themes in the empirical material: the imagined arena of the meeting place, the behaviour in the meeting place, the meeting place?s librarian and the polemic against the meeting place.

När allt fler produkter blir bärbara, t ex handdatorer och mobiltelefoner, innebär det även att dessa har blivit mindre. Ytan där text och liknande presenteras blir då även den mer begränsad. Läsning kan ses som en komplex kognitiv process med många ingående delar, bland annat tolkning, förståelse och ögats fysiska funktion. Dessa ingående processer begränsas när ytan texten presenteras på är mycket liten. För att motverka detta har alternativa sätt att presentera text på tagits fram, så kallad dynamisk textpresentation.

The aim of the study was to examine the reading ability of adultswith intellectual and/or communicative disabilities. The group adults withintellectual and/or communicative disabilities consisted of 66 individuals.One control group consisting of 36 children aged 7 to 12 years and onereference group consisting of 14 adults were used. Participants were given anumber of language and reading related tests. Adults with intellectual and/orcommunicative disabilities had significantly lower results than the adultreference group regarding all tests and significantly lower results than thechild control group regarding phonological processing. There was nodifference between adults with intellectual and/or communicative disabilitiesand the child comparison group regarding word decoding and readingcomprehension.

Under min utbildning till lärare i svenska som andraspråk kom jag i kontaktmed en undersökning som hävdade att flerspråkiga elevers texter iblandupplevs som tunna därför att de beskrivande partierna är få, och delvisinnehållsligt annorlunda jämfört med de beskrivande partierna i enspråkigaelevers texter.I scheman över utvecklingsgången i ett andraspråk framstår mängdenadjektiv i elevernas språk som en parameter med vilken man kan avläsa hurlångt eleverna kommit i sin språkutveckling. Jag ville därför undersöka omdet är bristen på adjektiv som gör att de flerspråkiga eleverna har färre ochmer glest spridda beskrivande partier i sina texter, vilket i så fall skullekunnat avhjälpas med adekvat undervisning om adjektivens betydelse fören text.Resultatet av min undersökning visar på, att det för de flerspråkigaelevernas del inte tycks vara så att adjektiven saknas i ordförrådet. Det ärvidare tveksamt om vi enbart med ledning av antalet adjektiv i en text kanavgöra hur tunn texten är.Min undersökning visar dock på ganska stora skillnader i andelenadjektiv i förhållande till antalet löpord i texten, jämfört med elevtexterskrivna på 1970- talet, vilket kan tyda på att det antingen har hänt någotmed det svenska skriftspråket eller, att det har hänt något med de svenskagymnasisterna..

The Swedish government ratified on May 1 2009 an amendment of marital law, resulting in same-sex marriage becoming legalized. With the rights of the Christian Swedish state church to officiate weddings originating from the same law, the church was thereby faced with two options: Either officially include same-sex couples in the Christian concept of holy matrimony and keep the right to officiate weddings; or give up the right to officiate weddings altogether. An official decision to accept the terms was reached on October 22 2009, but not without being preceded by an agitated medial debate.This research attempts to analyze the arguments of the debate in three stages: In the first stage the arguments are categorized according to their respective ideological standpoint. In the second stage these categories are examined from post-modern, social constructivist and socialization theory perspectives. Based on this, the third stage sees the arguments analyzed from a viewpoint based in the Copenhagen school concept of securization.The research concludes that the debate does not only simply feature two sides with differences of opinion; but rather that the arguments of the two opposing sides are founded in a common view of the other side as a fundamental threat to ones conception of a sound society..

Träning och hälsa har under senare år fått ett allt starkare fotfäste på sociala medier, inte minst på sociala plattformar såsom Facebook och Instagram. Det blir allt vanligare att man efter, till exempel, en löparrunda eller ett gympass väljer att dela med sig av sin träningserfarenhet på dessa plattformar i form av bilder, text och data från olika träningsapplikationer.Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka förhållandet mellan sändare och mottagare av träningsrelaterade statusuppdateringar på Facebook, i synnerhet när det gäller de båda parternas olika tolkningar av statusuppdateringen. För att undersöka detta genomfördes dels en enkätundersökning samt en kvalitativ gruppstudie. Gruppstudien gick ut på att låta en mindre grupp använda det sociala nätverket Facebook som forum för att posta träningsrelaterade inlägg samt reflektera över de andra deltagarnas inlägg.Resultaten visar att det finns en tydlig skillnad mellan hur träningsrelaterade statusuppdateringar mottas i det allmänna flödet gentemot i en sluten grupp på Facebook. Vilken typ av data träningsrelaterade inlägg innehåller visade sig också ha en betydande roll för hur de mottas.

By means of text creation I approach, reflect upon and try a number of aspects of my own professional existence as a joker in forum theatre and as a forum play pedagogue.This essay is structured like the days of a week and it specifically relates three problematic situations: first, a Monday containing a case of discrimination during the performance, then, a glimpse from a Wednesday when I failed to use the time with enough consideration of our common work and, finally, a Thursday when I was professionally questioned.These three situations are described thoroughly and then they are tried by me. This is carried out partly by reasoning, partly by using for example sociological, pedagogical and above all philosophical texts in order to widen my understanding of my existence as joker and forum play pedagogue. When writing this essay I really realized the importance of taking the reactions of the spec-tators into consideration. I have had the opportunity to develop thoughts about the way in which reflection is created and thoughts about different layers of reflection. I have also pondered over the way in which I distinguish between forum play and therapy as a forum play pedagogue.

The aim of this study is to analyze the discussion on the publication of twelve caricatures of the prophet Muhammad, in two Swedish newspapers ? Dagens Nyheter and Sydsvenska Dagbladet. The caricatures were originally published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, in September 2005. Even though the violent protests and attacks against Danish interests gained major media attention in Sweden few ? if any ? major Swedish newspapers published the caricatures.Using Fairclough?s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), a theory and a method that critically examines the relationship between text, the discourse practice in which text is produced and consumed, and the wider social practice, this study examines why Swedish newspapers chose not to publish any caricatures.The study concludes that the relationship between orders of discourse continuously affect, and is also affected by, Swedish media content.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how the research library of Linnæus University is used by students as a meeting place. Building upon Putnam's theory of bonding and bridging social capital and Audunson's conception of high and low intensive meeting places, it aims to explore the research library's potential for creating social capital and thus strengthening both learning and democracy in a university context. Borrowing part of the survey design from a study conducted as part of the Norwegian PLACE project, this study collects responses from 134 students as to their use of the library as a meeting place. The results show that the Linnæus University library is used for a variety of meetings of both high and low intensity, why it should provide a good setting for the creation of social capital. There seems to be a connection between how often one visits the library, as well as to which department one belongs, and how one uses the library as a meeting place.

The main purpose of this essay was to find out how members of Narcotics Anonymous and professionals within the socila service departments define integration of drug addicts, and ascertain how they experience their parts in the integration process. We have wanted to examine which factors that are essential for the earlier drogabuser in his rehabilitation to the ordinary world.We wanted to find out as much as possible of the integration aspect. That´s the reason for our choice to do qualitative interviews with both people from the social service department and Narcotics Anonymous. We also obtained material from relevant litterature. In our analysis, we have started from three theoretical basis.
