Bakgrund och problem: Internationella rapporter om människans påverkan på jordens begränsade resurser har avlöst varandra och en växande allmän medvetenhet om företags påverkan har gett upphov till koncept och begrepp som Corporate Social Responsibility. Hållbarhetsredovisningen är idag till största del frivillig, men dess roll kan diskuteras, exempelvis vilken information det är som presenteras av företag och hur omfattande den är. Tidigare forskning visar på delvis motstridiga slutsatser om relevansen hos företags hållbarhetsredovisningar gentemot deras faktiska hållbarhet.Syfte: Att undersöka hur hållbarheten i företags verksamhet presenteras i deras respektive årsredovisningar, med specifik inriktning på miljöperspektivet, och hur denna presentation har förändrats över tiden.Avgränsningar: Uppsatsen har granskat fem svenska företag per bransch i tre branscher, hämtade från Stockholmsbörsens Large cap-lista. Granskningsperioden är begränsad till år 2009-2013. Endast hållbarhetsredovisningens miljöaspekter har beaktats under granskningen.Metod: I studien har en longitudinell innehållsanalys använts för att undersökta miljöinformation i de valda företagens redovisningar.

På uppdrag av Tidningsutgivarna har en studie utförts angående olika möjligheter att införa tryck av variabeldata med tryckmetoden inkjet i svensk dagspress. Målet var att undersöka tekniska möjligheter och begränsningar samt att utreda om det fanns något intresse på marknaden som skulle kunna ge någon avkastning. Studien utfördes med hjälp av noggranna källstudier och ett fortlöpande samarbete med olika företag med intresse för dagspress. Rapporten beskriver också företag som arbetar med den här typen av innovationer idag och diverse tidigare projekt med variabeltryckta tidningar. Nya teknologier som eventuellt kan vara av intresse för framtida utveckling har också beskrivits och hur tidningens framtid kommer att se ut ur ett kortare och ett längre perspektiv.Studien visar att inkjetpressar inte klarar av den hastighet som de moderna tidningspressarna håller idag.

Corn is an important food and feed crop in the world, in Sweden it?s up till now grown on limited acreages mainly for silage. But I think it can get more important if you can grow it also for grain, because it?s a good animal feed for example, for life stock-, pigsand poultry. On of corns advantage is that it can produce the same amount of dry matter as for example wheat, barley and rise but with 25% less water. I will examine if it possible to grow corn for grain production in the south of Sweden.

Sweden is one of five nations in the world manufacturing fighter aircrafts. Highly advanced technology is needed in order to develop a fighter aircraft. When developing advanced technology, new applications, other than those initially intended occur, spin-off. Some of Sweden?s largest companies are spin-offs from the fighter aircraft industry.

I denna studie har fyra svenska storföretag studerats med avseende på hur de definierar begreppet hållbar utveckling, hur deras förhållningssätt är till hållbar utveckling samt hur de arbetar med socialt ansvar, även kallat samhällsansvar i ett vidare perspektiv. De intervjuade företagen är Volvo Lastvagnar, Skanska, Tetra Pak och Green Cargo. Studien är baserad på intervjuer via telefon med företagens miljöchefer, dessutom har företagens hållbarhetsredovisningar studerats. Studien belyser definitionen hållbar utveckling och pekar på att det finns många olika tolkningar av begreppet. Slutsatserna från intervjuerna och det studerade materialet är dock att företagen utgår från det grundläggande dokumentet från Brundtlandkommissionen.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how investments are justified in the Swedish data center industry, with a focus on cooling equipment. This is achieved through semi-structured interviews with 20 different interviewees. These interviewees represent different facets of the industry and facilitate an understanding of which factors, such as: investment costs, operating costs, reliability, environmental impact and the influence of external and internal actors, come into play and to which degree they impact the investment decision-making process. The results show that primarily low operating cost in the form of low energy consumption is the driving factor when it comes to the procurement of new equipment. A lower environmental impact is a positive side-effect of lower energy consumption.

Denna rapport innehåller de samlade erfarenheterna från ett produktutvecklingsprojekt i kursen TDDD77 vid Linköpings universitet. Projektets mål var att skapa en applikation för att visualisera mätdata från en specialutrustad bil på en surfplatta. Detta var önskvärt då det inte fanns något sätt att se om någon sensor slutade fungera mitt i ett test. Projektet delades upp i en förstudie följd av tre iterationer, där en färdig produkt presenterades på en teknisk mässa i slutet av iteration 3.Resultaten visar att Essence Kernel Alpha States kunde användas som en hälsokontroll för projektet, men då de kunde ses som rätt vaga och lämnade rum för tolkning passade det bäst som ett komplement till exempelvis milstolpar.Att använda Google Protocol Buffers sågs som ett viktigt tekniskt val tillsammans med uppdelningen av klienten i front- och back-end. Protobuf underlättade kommunikationen mellan server och klient som annars krävt ett nyskapat protokoll.Uppdelningen av front- och back-end underlättade inte bara resursfördelningen vid utveckling utan även vid felsökning då det i många fall blev lättare att se precis var felet uppkom.

The ?civilized? world is in need of fossil fuel in order to function. Hybricon AB is a company in Umeå that is developing a technology that hopefully can reduce parts of this need. They are currently testing their two electrical busses (with Hybrid backup) in city traffic on the roads of Umeå in cooperation with the county of Umeå.                               The busses are originally diesel-busses, but the diesel motor has been replaced with two electrical hub-motors with a power of 145 kW each that are powered by batteries.The batteries are charged at the end station after each route. In case the batteries should run low on capacity during driving, they can be recharged by the so called genset.

Within the fields of business as well as the academic, there is a growing interest for the role images play in an organized conception of the world. This paper acknowledges the relevance of such images and ideas, and its purpose is to examine the fixed ideas and conceptions of the world as they appear in a Swedish organizational context. The Swedish Trade Council is a hybrid organization between the state and private sector with an outspoken purpose of defining an image of the outside world for small and medium size enterprises in Sweden. The underlying question in focus for this study is: What central conceptions of the world appear in the Swedish Trade Council?s information films ?Världens möjligheter?? Within organizational studies, a postcolonial theory has to a large extent been overlooked.

This study consists of a literature study and a survey in Tamil Nadu, India. The aim of the study was to get an understanding of horse feeding in tropical climates and what kind of feeding related problems that could occur because of the fodder. Information and data were collected from eight different stables and from Tamil Nadu University of Agriculture in the region of Tamil Nadu in March-April 2009. The horses in Tamil Nadu were given rice straw, unknown grass, Cynodon dactylon, lucerne, maize, Pennisetum glaucum x Pennisetum purpureum hybrid and Chloris gayana as roughage. As concentrates, the horses were given wheat bran, oats, barley, soybean meal, maize, carrots, coconut cake, peanut cake, horse gram and chick pea.

This thesis has been a part of Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB's evaluation of a turbulencemodel used in simulation of turbulent flow called PRNS (Partially Resolved NumericalSimulation). This model has promising properties and may be of use in savingcomputational resources. The purpose of this thesis was to analyze this model andcompare it with industrially applied models such as k-omega SST and LES (Large EddySimulations).PRNS works as a hybrid of the k-omega SST and DNS (Direct Numerical Simulation)where a constant, RCP (Resolution Control Parameter) with a value between 0 and 1are selected. This constant is then used in the calculations and determines thebehavior of the simulation. When RCP is set to zero the equation are the same as fora DNS simulation and when RCP is set to one the equations for k-omega SST issolved.

In recent years there has been an upsurge in products and activities designed for infants, what is known as baby culture. The essay is a discourse analysis covering the part of baby culture which is concerned with infants and books. The essay studies texts from libraries and children?s bookclubs in order to understand what it is they communicate, to whom and the conceivable consequences of the communicated message. One of the main purposes of the study is to determine what view of infants as social and cultural beings it  is that arises from the texts.

Inledning: Offentliga organisationers upphandlingar är ett ämne som är intressant både ur ett rent företagsekonomiskt perspektiv och ur ett medborgerligt perspektiv. Dels på grund av att den offentliga sektorn utgör en viktig del av den svenska ekonomin och dels för att dessa upphandlingar regleras i den omskrivna och omdebatterade lagstiftning Lagen om offentlig upphandling (LOU). Till detta kan läggas de problem och svårigheter som existerar vid inköp av komplexa tjänster. Syfte: Att analysera hur offentliga organisationer hanterar sina leverantörsrelationer i upphandlingsprocessen för att säkerställa en god tjänstekvalitet, vid inköp av komplexa tjänster, med perspektiv på fri konkurrens och nära relationer. Disposition: Vi har valt att disponera vår uppsats som en vandring offentliga organisationer vandrar för att nå sitt mål som vi definierar som god tjänstekvalitet.
