In this two years masters thesis in Library and Information Studies, the Russian Library-Bibliographical Classification (LBC/BBK) and the Chinese Library Classification (CLC) are analyzed with regard to their historical and ideological backgrounds and their respective evolutions. The structure of these classifications is compared with the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC), as well as three chosen subjects (History, Politics and Religion). A qualitative comparative textual method is used.The study shows that these classification schemes, created at different times, different parts of the world, and different political systems, have different biases but give priority to the European before other foreign views. Otherwise, they often use a proximity principle. The CLC and the LBC were originally based on Marxist materialist principles but built in totally different ways.

Studiens syfte var att studera hur ingången till socialtjänstens arbete med vuxna kan se ut i en svensk kommun samt hur karaktäristiska, så som ålder, kön och ansöknings- eller anmälningsorsak, hos ärenden och målgruppen förändras över tid.Metoden som användes var kvantitativ, en så kallad fallstudie, och materialet som studien grundades på är data insamlad vid socialtjänstens vuxenenhet i Umeå. Dessa bestod av utskrivna Excel-ark som fyllts i av enhetschefen för hand och materialet täcker två tolvmånadersperioder (juli 2006 - juli 2007, juli 2010 - juni 2011).Resultatet visade att den vanligaste ålderskategorin för båda perioderna är 21-25 år med en medelålder för kvinnor på 39 år och män 37,5 år den första perioden (2006/2007). För den senare perioden (2010/2011) var medelåldern 39,5 för kvinnor och 38,6 för män. Männen utgjorde en större del av klientgruppen båda perioderna, och den vanligaste förekommande aktualiseringsorsaken för båda könen och perioderna var alkohol (lika vanligt förekommande som narkotika för män 2006/2007). Ärenden blev i hög utsträckning fördelade till ansvarig socialsekreterare samma vecka som ärendet inkommit till enheten.

For centuries inbreeding has been used to refine traits in dogs, making desired traits more hereditary and thereby, different breeds have been invented. Breed standards have been written for each of these breeds, describing in detail the different characteristics of each breed. When humans start to choose which animal to breed from, so called artificial selection, taste is put before function and the laws of nature, the natural selection, cease to apply. During this development, pedigree dogs have gone towards more and more extreme exterior characteristics and the dogs may have inherited various, more or less, severe problems for example compromised vision, impaired ability to move and difficulties to breathe. However they can still survive and reproduce because humans provide them with the conditions to do so.

I denna studie har den offentliga sektorns påverkan på tillväxt i OECD-länderna undersökts. Studiens frågeställning är: Hur påverkar den offentliga sektorns storlek och struktur ekonomisk tillväxt i OECD-länder? Undersökningen är gjord för åren 2007-2010 i en så kallad paneldata-undersökning. För att undersöka strukturen har den offentliga sektorns utgifter delats upp i sex delar - utgifter för utbildning, försvar, sjukvård, varor och tjänster, sociala avgifter samt övriga utgifter.I undersökningen har sex modeller används för att få fram resultat. Undersökningen visade inget klart samband mellan storleken på den offentliga sektorn och ekonomisk tillväxt.

The integration policy in Sweden has received criticism for being disintegrating due to the structure of division between those that integrate and those who are to be integrated, a division between ?us? and ?them?. In 2010 the reform Act on introduction activities for certain newly arrived immigrants (2010:197), was carried out to facilitate the integration of newly arrived immigrants on the labor market. The purpose of this thesis is to study power and discrimination structures within the reform by applying an intersectional theoretical framework. Intersectionality is based on the notion that different forms of discrimination such as gender, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation etc.

Studien undersöker hur matematiska begrepp etableras i diskursen i klassrummet och hur lärare planerar för, iscensätter och bearbetar matematiska begrepp. Studiens syfte är att studera hur lärare hanterar matematiska begrepp i undervisningen ur ett specialpedagogiskt perspektiv. Utifrån studiens ansats väljs två kvalitativa datainsamlingsmetoder. Till detta infogas Selander & Kress (2010) formellt inramad lärsekvens och Hallidays (2004) tre metafunktioner och en ny metafunktion, den institutionell funktion (Boistrup- Björklund, 2010). Studien visar att procedurkunskap har en stor plats i undervisningen. Lärarna hanterar begrepp i förbifarten och funderar inte på vilken roll de språkliga uttrycken har.

In Sweden there is a large interest in renewable energy but the market for solar power is still small compared to other countries such as Germany. Here many farmers produce their own electricity. The Federation of Swedish farmers have acknowledged the potential for Swedish farmer to produce electricity and there is an interest among the farmers. The agricultural branches in Sweden most suitable for solar power are pig production and poultry due to the even electricity need throughout a year. Swedish pig farmers are going through a period of unsteady profitability which makes it interesting to see whether producing their own electricity can affect the economic situation.

Denna studie går ut på att undersöka vilka mediekanaler unga förstagångsväljare använde sigav för att få politisk information innan och under riksdagsvalet 2010. Syftet är också attundersöka hur traditionella massmedier, som tidigare varit den dominerande källan förpolitisk information, står sig i relation till sociala medier i den fragmenterade medievärld vilever i idag. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten är utifrån Uses and Gratifications-teorin samttidigare forskning rörande förstagångsväljare och sociala medier. Metoddelen är kvantitativ iform av en frågeundersökning med gymnasieelever som läser sista året på gymnasiet.Datainsamlingen genomfördes i Sundsvall och Jönköping under december 2010. Resultatet visar att unga förstagångsväljare fortfarande anser att de traditionella medierna,främst TV, är de viktigaste för deras politiska information. Det framgår också i resultatet attdet politiska intresset hos unga ökar under valår.

The usage of temporary work agencies services is increasing in the Swedish labour market and it has also caused some problems. There have been cases where employers have been accused to circumvent the preferential right to reinstatement by using temporary agency workers rather than rehire preference eligible employees during labour need.The purpose of this thesis is to describe, analyse and enhance the understanding of the preferential rights to reinstatement and study when hiring of temporary agency workers, during the period when there is preference eligible former employees, is permitted. The method being used in this thesis has been applied with particular attention to the directives, laws, legislative history and doctrine.The preferential rights to reinstatement in 25-27 §§ of the Employment Protection Act is a protection which states that the employer has to hire employees or former dismissed employees during increased labour needs. The purpose of this right is that an employer should not be able to terminate an employee due to redundancy and then later hire new employees. An employee is entitled to the preferential right as he/she meets the criteria of the Employment Protection Act.

In the construction industry the number of female managers is very low, only four percent (SCB, 2010). In fact, women with management positions has risen by six percentage overall, the last seven years (SCB, 2010). If women in managerial positions continue to grow at this rate, the proportion of women managers will be equal to that of male managers in 2033. More women are needed in the maledominated construction industry in particular because it is deemed that they have a different way of thinking and acting (Granér, 1994). Nelton (1991) believes that companies can take advantage of female managers to be more competitive on the market, the reason why is because women can see other possibilities when solving problems. Rapacioli (2010) argues that the recruitment of women into management positions not only benefits the individual itself but also the company. We have used a qualitative study with a deductive approach. Six respondents from the same company were interviewed, two of them have management positions and the other four were underemployed.The research question of this paper is: What differences and similarities are seen between male and female leadership in terms of their characteristics in the construction industry?The purpose of this paper is to examine similarities and differences in leadership in the construction industry where the focus is on the female and male characteristics. To fulfill our purpose we chose a qualitative study. We have interviewed six respondents at one company in the construction industry. Two of the six respondents have management positions and the remaining four are employed. In this paper we have concluded that there are some differences and similarities between men and women´s leadership in terms of their characteristics.

The purpose of this thesis is to study whether there is a demand for sawn wood products of large dimensions and planed goods among Wallnäs AB:s customers. The thesis consist of two main parts, one survey among Wallnäs present customers and another one which purpose is to increase Wallnäs customer base. Finally there is a chapter that describes what properties the raw material has to have in order to produce the demanded products. The survey to the present customers was conducted through a questioner. A sample of those who stated an interest for either sawn wood products of large dimensions or planed goods, were later contacted for a telephone interview. To reach out to new customers, relevant companies has been identified through the Swedish Trade Councils data base and through the member list of the Timber Trade Federation.

Uppsatsen undersöker med en systematisk litteraturöversikt centrala teman inom ledarskapsforsk­ningen mellan åren 1940 och 2010. Finns det någon skillnad mellan äldre (1940-1999) och yngre ledarskapsforskning (2000-2010)? Vidare undersöks typ av artik­lar, var de är skrivna och av vem. Uppsatsens analys består av 2815 artiklar som har ordet ?leadership? i titeln, fo­kus var innehållet i titlarna.

Handelsgödsel och stallgödsel används i stor omfattning i jordbruket, men ungefär en tredjedel av den tillförda kvävegödseln tas inte upp av växtligheten. Omkring hälften av den mängden förs till närliggande vattendrag, något som kan resultera i eutrofiering av sjöar och vattendrag. Även fosforläckage till vattendrag kan orsaka eutrofiering och faktorer som kan inverka på läckaget av näringsämnen från åkermark till vattendrag är jordart, odlingsåtgärder och nederbörd. För att minska förlusterna av näringsämnen från odlingsmarker till vattendrag har det tagits fram åtgärdsprogram inom jordbrukssektorn. Ett program benämns som ?Typområden på jordbruksmark? och är en del av övervakningen av miljön i Sverige.
