The production costs have steadily increased within the construction industry during the 21st century. Voices are raised meaning that the construction industry is too unsuccessful in making the production more efficient and to develop it?s way of working. One way to deal with the production costs is to minimise the waste, with waste meaning activities that doesn?t add value to the finished product.

Today's consumer society has led to never-ending choices in terms of brands, products and prices in an endless variety of shops. The retail industry is a very complex industry that includes many different types of sales channels and many different types of products. A consequence of this trend is that brand owners today face difficulties in understanding how their products are being evaluated and difficulties in knowing which final cause that make a consumer willing to by their product is hard to figure out. The industry is very diversified, which means that for a company to really understand their position and their role on the market it requires that the company put a lot of effort and also a lot of money in the process of trying to figure it out. We will with this paper try to explain a small piece of that understanding and we hope to get results, which contribute to the further research in this area.

Uppsatsen analyserar hur främlingskap framställs i tre av Roberto Rossellinis filmer, ?Stromboli?, ?Europa ´51? och ?Viaggio in Italia?. Utgångspunkten är sociologi med inriktning på främlingskap där syftet är att avtäcka hur främlingen i varje film skildras, vad som utgör främlingskapet, om det löses och i så fall hur.  I min analys har jag tillämpat tematisk och narrativ analys av filmerna, vilka ställts i relation till uppsatsens teoretiska utgångspunkter utifrån Georg Simmel, Zygmunt Bauman, Julia Kristeva och Janet Wolff.Studien visar hur främlingskapets olika aspekter berörs och hanteras i filmerna. Klass, kultur och kön är tre avgörande och genomgående faktorer som frambringar främlingskap. Inledningsvis är huvudkaraktärerna en del av främlingskapet, men en medvetenhet väcks och en transformering av dem och deras relationer till de andra börjar.

Active sensors are used a lot in the society and industry, for example to gain better control over processes or to get proximity sensing features in different products. Within industry there is great interest in developing safe automation products that can be controlled with high accuracy but still at a low cost.The goal of this project is to develop a prototype of a non-contact rangefinder that measures distance using infrared light. The sensor is to be used for various applications in industries with relatively high accuracy and be compact, but at a low cost. By implementing a rangefinder into a product, more accurate detections of an object?s presence can be done.In this project a new distance sensor, EPC600 from ESPROS, was used.

Den här rapporten är ett resultat av ett examensarbete på 30 högskolepoäng, vid Linköpings Universitet. Rapporten behandlar projektmodeller som kan appliceras på projekt vars syfte är att ta fram informationsmaterial för industriverksamhet. Idén till arbetet väcktes då SSAB beställde en informationsfilm som de skulle kunna använda vid upphandling med nya leverantörer. Filmen skulle belysa hur deras produkter ska hanteras. Filmprojektet var mycket omfattande och för att kunna utföra det med ett tillfredsställande resultat krävdes det att arbetet strukturerades upp ordentligt.

This report is the result of a thesis work carried out on the Risifrutti production at the company Procordia Food AB. The thesis is at a master level and is the final work for the author to receive a Master of Science in Innovative production at Mälardalen University. The thesis comprises 30 credits and has lasted for 18 weeks. The thesis is mainly a research on whether it is possible to perform an Environmental Value Stream Map (E-VSM) in a food processing industry and an evaluation if the tools E-VSM and Green Performance Map (GPM) are useful in this type of industry. An extra part to this research is to use the results from the E-VSM and give Procordia Food AB information on improvement potentials in the Risifrutti production. The author has found it difficult to collect some of the quantitative data to the E-VSM, mainly regarding energy, but by using the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tool and other Lean tools the author was able to identify and quantify several wastes in the Risifrutti production. Recommendations for improvements based on these wastes have been given to the company. In the research part of this report the utility of the Value Stream Map, Environmental Value Stream Map and Green Performance Map in a food processing industry have been analyzed. The author has found that the Value Stream Map has been a useful tool since waste and unevenness in the tact of the production has been identified. The Environmental Value Stream Map and the Green Performance Map are also great tools when a company wants to analyze their environmental impact and then invest in environmental improvements. However, no profound energy analyzes has been done in the Risifrutti production because of the lack of energy meters for steam, electricity and compressed air in the production lines..

The aim of this study is to examine the image of Judas Iscariot in popular culture with the help of two movies, The Last Temptation of Christ and Son of God. This study is based on a film analysis where a characterization is in focus. The method has also chosen to include intertextuality. This is because it is relevant to show how writers and filmmakers used the previous materials to create their own versions. Survey theory was based on a mediatisation-theory.

The launch of the 4G network will offer new opportunities for the operators regarding products services. It may also impact the competition on the overall market.PurposeThe purpose of this thesis is to present a deep analysis of the industry and give the reader a comprehensive picture of existing conditions.

The cooperation between university and industry life in the region of Gävle is always a topic of importance. University and High schools have various roles to fulfill: except administrating the training and supporting research they should also - as a third role - contribute to cooperation between organizations, business companies and other associations. In addition to that, they should support individuals by local as well as regional development. The purpose of our paper is to make a critical review of the cooperation between the University of Gävle (HiG) and industry life until today and the consequences in order to encourage students to stay in the Gävle region during and after their period of studies.Initial we started with a preliminary inquiry with a questionnaire as a base for students in three programs at the Department of Economy; the program for Bachelor of Science, the program for estate agent and another economy program with direction estate economy. From this preliminary inquiry we got the picture of the way the students looked at the problem.

Pets like dogs and cats have a considerable importance for humans and research demonstrate a variety of positive economic and social effects in society due to our pet companions. The presences of pets are increasing on a global scale with correlation to economic development in low- and middle income countries. For example dogs have doubled in India over a five year period. The feed industry for dogs and cats is also the fastest growing sector in the food industry and certain pets have a significant animal protein intake which, depending on the choice of resources may provide a high ecological footprint. Examples of environmental effects with distribution and manufacturing of pet food are increased greenhouse gas emissions, waste, use of water and energy.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att skapa ökad förståelse för hur musik och rörliga bilder som kulturella minnen kan samspela och upplösa gränser mellan dåtid och samtid. De frågeställningar som också utgör kärnan i uppsatsen handlar om hur musik samspelar med rörliga bilder och därmed bidrar till att forma det kulturella minnet runt en tidsepok. Dessutom: huruvida samspelet mellan musiken och bilderna också kan upplösa gränser mellan dåtid och samtid.Undersökningen består av kvalitativa texttolkningar av ett urval scener ur Upp Till Kamp, en svensk tv-serie med långfilmskaraktär som återblickar på sextiotalet i Sverige. I scenerna finns exempel på olika möten mellan populärmusik och rörliga bilder. Musik som växlar mellan att vara välbekant äldre och nyskriven möter rörliga bilder som växlar mellan att vara autentiska och nyskapad fiktion.Det teoretiska ramverket utgörs av en integration av teorier inom de tre olika fälten medier och minne, filmmusik och temporalitet.

Companies that are facing the global market are put in to new challenges in order to streamline its business. One industry that has realized that changes are necessary is the construction industry, it is an industry witch is far behind the development of introducing information technology-tools systems in there business. It has shown there is a relation between high IT usage and high productivity, which is one of the reasons to why companies in the construction industry should purchase a business system especially for procurement. However, companies that have purchased a business system are facing difficulties in having their employees using it for its purpose. People react differently to changes and that?s why variations in quantities exist for usage of information technology-tools.

Denna studie har genomförts för att belysa skillnader i olika mediers roll för minnet och lärandet hos elever i gymnasieskolan. Syftet har varit att jämföra audiovisuell stimuli i form av utbildningsfilm med motsvarande information i skriftlig version utifrån ett kort- och långsiktigt perspektiv, då båda dessa medium används inom skolan utan några egentliga kunskaper kring deras för- och nackdelar. Två jämförande experiment med andra- och tredjeårselever på gymnasiet har genomförts där eleverna har indelats i olika testgrupper. Hälften av eleverna har vid experiment 1 sett på en utbildningsfilm, medan resterande har läst motsvarande information i skriven text. Därefter har ett omgående kunskapsprov med fasta svarsalternativ genomförts, följt av ett liknande prov tre veckor senare.

Barn lär sig mer och mer engelska utanför skolan genom populärkultur. Syftet meddenna studie är att undersöka hur populärkulturen förekommer i läromedel i engelskaoch på vilket sätt den förekommer. Även bakomliggande faktorer som Lpo94 ochLgr11 jämförs i analysen. Populärkulturens roll i skolan har förändrats genom åren ochdet är en central utgångspunkt i studien. Även hur populärkulturen kan användas inomandraspråksinlärningen samt som motivation är andra utgångspunkter.
