The focus of the research will depend on what conditions areoptimal for cutting marquetry with laser technology. In my work I account for thehistorical background of the various techniques and then through own practical testsexamine whether the laser technology can complement the traditional techniques..

Detta arbete inleds med att berätta om att författarna fick i uppdrag av det nystartade båtföretaget Strand Craft att ta fram strategier för hur de på bästa sätt kunde ta sig ut på marknaden och bli synlig för sina potentiella kunder. Problemställningen skall besvaras av de tre frågorna: var företaget skall kommunicera, hur företaget skall kommunicera och vad företaget skall kommunicera.För att svara på dessa frågor inledde vi med att analysera hur en kund agerar vid ett köp som kräver högt engagemang och vilka verktyg som finns tillgängliga för företaget att använda i sin marknadsföring. Dessa båda faktorer jämfördes för att få reda på vilka av verktygen som kan anses lämpliga att använda sig av vid marknadsföring av en högengagemangsprodukt.När vi fått fram vilka marknadsföringsstrategier, som enligt teorin ansågs som lämpliga, genomförde vi en kvalitativ undersökning med sju båtägare i Sverige för att se hur de agerar när de gör inköp av den här storleken. Båtägarna fick dessutom svara på frågor om vad de hade för åsikter om Strand Crafts varumärke och båtar.Utifrån respondenternas svar fick vi reda på att de idag har sina båtar till helt olika ändamål. Några har båten som ett transportmedel för att exempelvis ta sig mellan stan och sommarstugan på landet, men gemensamt för alla är att båten även ses som ett nöjesobjekt.

The aim of this two year master thesis is to study the knowledge production within the field of Textile Studies at Uppsala University, with special focus on the use of artifact documentation as a research method. With domain analysis as a theoretical framework, ontological and epistemological assumptions as well as historical and social aspects are studied in relation to the research process. Qualitative research methods are used, including interviews, observations and text analysis. In the analysis of the knowledge processes in the field, perspectives on tacit knowledge and the concept of documents, are used as a theoretical basis. In the field of Textile Studies, the artifacts are used as one of the main objects of study, along with archival and pictorial sources. The main epistemological assumptions are that artifact analysis is dependent on a knowledge base, where technical handicraft skills, contextual knowledge and practical experience of object observation are the most important qualifications.

Genom att undersöka halkolyckors utsträckning samt halkskydd som fanns tillgängliga konstaterades det att ett behov av nya halkskydd fanns. Enkäter för att ge svar på användning av halkskydd togs fram och svar från personer i åldrarna 20-65 visade att man överlag inte använde halkskydd. I stor utsträckning berodde det på halkskyddens dåliga kvalité och den negativa stämpeln som fanns på dem . Textila material undersöktes för att finna lämpliga egenskaper.

From policy to practice - a study of textile companies view about challenges with implementing CSR policies examine the textile companies awareness of which challenges there are with the implementation of codes of conduct in a global supply chain, as well as to analyze how the companies deal with the challenges. Portfoliometodik är idag ett känt begrepp, likaså digital elevportfolio. Båda dessa begrepp, och en av de programvaror som främst är utvecklade för att vara en aktiv digital elevportfolio, har en central roll i den här studien. Portfolio Manager 2, som programmet i fråga heter, är utvecklat i Sverige av svenska pedagoger.Studien har en kvantitativ ansats med enkäter som redskap. En köns- och specialpedagogisk betraktelsegrund fanns i studien, vilket också resulterade i nya pedagogiska rön.Studien är utförd i 5 klasser på 2 olika svenska skolor i slöjd, där samtliga elever gick i åk 5.Lärarenkäten var utformad så att den skulle kunna ge en bedömning av ?fenomenet? Companies in the apparel industry are becoming increasingly responsible with regards to the social and environmental issues related to textile production. Despite these tendencies, there are great insecurities surrounding the concept of CSR and the effects on consumers of CSR communication. There is currently no model for breaking the concept of CSR down into smaller elements, specific for the apparel industry. In the first part of this thesis, we create such a model, applicable in a consumer communication context. In the second part, we investigate the effects on consumer attitudes and intentions of communicating the different elements of CSR presented in the model.

The thesis has investigated the use of templates in timber framing, a field where there has previously been a lack of comprehensive and clear information. The main goal was to map and describe the various types of templates, their appearance, usage, and function, in order to make this traditional craft more accessible to both professional craftsmen and DIY enthusiasts. The project also aims to contribute to the preservation of traditional building crafts, in alignment with UNESCO's Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The methodology used in this study was a literature review, where relevant templates were gathered and analyzed. The templates were then categorized using a system developed by the author, which helped simplify the understanding of the templates functions and uses.
