Undervisning och dyslexi : Några gymnasieläraren arbetssätt för att stödja elever med dyslexi

According to the curriculum the teachers have a responsibility to adjust the activities in the classroom in order to suit the pupils and to give them the means of assistance the pupils need to be successful in their learning. The teachers should also stimulate the interest to learn and support the pupils? self esteem. One of the problems a dyslectic pupil faces is an often weak self esteem. Another is the weak phonological awareness which makes it hard to fully understand the context and to recognize different phonemes when writing.

Is the Use of the Rubber as a Preventive Measure to the Spread of HIV/AIDS Morally Justifiable? Ethical Reflections on the Controversy

Since the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) was discovered in the 1980s, the condom has scientifically proven to be the only technological device that can prevent transmission of the virus during sexual intercourse. This technical approach to the HIV has strongly emphasized that prevention is only possible if the condom is properly used. However, as a technological artifact the condom has shown that its use is laden with values. The question of values on condoms has brought in a heated debate on the moral justifications of its use. In Malawi, just as in other African countries, the Faith Community has rejected the Governmentsplea to promote condoms as the preventive measure against the virus.The Faith Community has emphasized on abstinence and mutual faithfulness as the only reliable means to the prevention of HIV/AIDS.

SE MIG, HÖR MIG, RÖR VID MIG - En litteraturstudie om hiv-positiva/aids personers upplevelser av sjuksköterskors bemötande

Bakgrund: Hiv-infektionen kan spåras tillbaka till år 1959 och år 2007 uppskattades 33 miljoner vara infekterade med hiv världen över. År 2008 uppskattades ca 5000 personer leva med hiv i Sverige. Hiv smittar bland annat genom sexuell kontakt och blod. Bemötandet av hiv-positiva patienter kan skilja sig från bemötandet av patienter med andra svåra sjukdomar. Tidigare studier visar att flera faktorer påverkar hur sjuksköterskor bemöter hiv-positiva patienter, till exempel fördomsfrihet, acceptans och tidigare erfarenhet av denna patientgrupp.

Are we able to help younger students to develop their understanding and their use of the capital letter, dot and question mark by giving them intensive teaching on the subject during a short period, and would the effect be long lasting?I decided to investigate this together with young students in second and third grade and at the same time try to see which grade would benefit most.By using an experimental research design I conducted the investigation in a class with children from both grades where the result was compared with two similar control groups. The investigation lasted during five months, while the students were able to show their knowledge in the subject just before and after a two weeks period of intensive teaching and then again after four months.The result showed that the intensive teaching had an effect that lasted over time and that it was the students in second grade that would benefit most. .

?Man känner sig otillräcklig? : En kvalitativ studie om fem lärares upplevelser av att undervisa nyanlända elever i ordinarie klasser

The purpose of this study was to examine how teachers in primary schools experience the situation of teaching newly arrived immigrant pupils in their regular classes and also how they plan their teaching for these pupils. The empirical study did intend to answer the following two questions; how do teachers experience the situation of teaching newly arrived immigrant pupils in their regular classes? How is teaching of newly arrived immigrant pupils in regular classes being formed? A qualitative method was used in the form of interviews with five primary school teachers from two different schools. The overall perspective I have assumed in this study is the sociocultural perspective, but I have also taken up a second language perspective and an intercultural perspective. All the teachers in the study have described their experiences of teaching newly arrived immigrant pupils in terms of difficult, tough and demanding at the beginning, but nowadays somewhat easier.

This paper sets out to examine to what extent French grammar teaching contributes to the students? practical, oral skills. Are the students familiar with the grammatical system without knowing how to apply it orally in practice? The paper contains a theoretical background and an empirical survey. One quantitative and one qualitative method have been applied in the survey.

Vilka faktorer har påverkat den ekonomiska tillväxten i Afrika? -en empirisk studie under perioden 1989-2004

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka varför Afrika har haft så dålig tillväxt de senaste sexton åren jämfört med resten av världen. Paneldata från 41 afrikanska länder mellan åren 1989 och 2004 används för att undersöka åtta variablers påverkan på den ekonomiska tillväxten. Variablerna som ska granskas är sparande, humankapital, inflation, inflation i kvadrat, bistånd, öppenhet, jämställdhet och aids. Fokus ligger på aids och jämställdhet, eftersom de inte varit föremål för tidigare empirisk forskning i samma utsträckning som de andra variablerna. Regressioner gjordes dels över ett treårsintervall och dels över ett femårsintervall för att undersöka hur variablerna påverkar tillväxten för olika tidsperioder.

Bakgrund: Hiv är en virussjukdom, vilken utan eller misskött behandling kan utvecklas till följdsjukdomen aids. Vid sjukdomens uppkomst cirkulerade okunskap kring smittan vilket påverkade patienter med hiv och aids på flertalet sätt. Idag är sjukdomen globalt utbredd, och ett stort befolkningsantal är drabbade, vilket talar för vikten att bidra till en ökad kunskap och medvetenhet kring sjukdomen. Att sprida denna kunskap är något som sjuksköterskan kan göra i sin del att arbeta hälsofrämjande för samhället. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa hur patienter med hiv och aids upplever sjuksköterskors och övrig sjukvårdspersonals bemötande.

This is a study about how different digital instruments can be used in education for pupils with autism and intellectual disability. The questions formulated to research this chosen area was: ?What does teachers think about digital instruments and interactive teaching materials when it comes to benefits and disadvantages in the classroom?, ?In what ways is digital instruments used as teaching materials in the specific school context? and ?From a perspective of teaching and learning, what kind of problems and opportunities can be gained from using digital instruments and teaching materials?. To gather this information interviews was done with three specialist pedagogues working with the chosen group of pupils at three different schools. The material shows that the specialist pedagogues have positive attitudes towards working with digital instruments in this specific group of students..

Geometri : Varierad undervisning i kreativ anda

The purpose of this study is to observe which method that is used when it comes to teaching geometry. The study aims to take a closer look at four different ways of teaching: illustrations, using practical objects, brainstorming and verbal communication. The method used to get the results is observation. With the result, we can deduce primarily that the educators make use of the four didactic methods to varying degrees. There are similarities between most of the teachers but also differences between them.

Kan ett konkret arbetssätt påverka lusten till matematik?

The purpose behind this work was to investigate whether I could from a practical approach to create desire for mathematics among students in primary schools. I wanted also to find out how students feel about their current mathematics teaching. By introducing an equation game, and interviewing students to find out their perception of their mathematics teaching, I was able to answer my questions. What I came to was that through a practical and laboratory work, I could create an enjoyable educational opportunity in mathematics. Then during the interviews I also learned that students had not a pre-determined negative attitude towards mathematics.

Lärande genom estetiska lärprocesser : Konstnärlighet som metod i Waldorfskolan - en etnografisk fältstudie

In this essay we study the practice of teaching and learning through aesthetic learning processes in a Waldorf School. Through an ethnographic field study three Waldorf teachers have been interviewed about their views regarding in what ways aesthetic learning processes are present in their teaching and how learning through these processes is being carried out practically. For the study a specific class has been observed during three days in a Waldorf School in Stockholm to examine how the aesthetic learning processes are being performed in practice.Through the study we have reached the conclusion that in this particular Waldorf School teaching is being performed artistically and through aesthetic approaches and perspectives. This way of teaching is being carried out not only in the aesthetic subjects but also in the theoretic. The results of the study show that aesthetic learning processes are present in almost all of the subjects in this Waldorf School..

Att undervisa kring miljö och hållbar utveckling - Hur förhåller sig läroböckerna i samhällskunskap, historia och geografi till Lpf94 och de nationella kursplanerna?

Daily citizens are informed by the media about the environment and the climate changes. The schools purpose is to educate students according to events that are of current interest and take place in present time. According to Swedish curriculum, Lpf94, all Swedish education should include and discuss the problems surrounding durable development. The purpose of the study is to se how the textbooks in History, Social studies and Geography and their contents meet the demands of the curriculum. The study shows that only the textbooks in geography meets the demands that the curriculums have on durable development.

Synen på engelskundervisning i årskurs 9 hos en lärare och fem elever : Med fokus på val, användning och utvärdering av läromedel

Läraren står inför ett stort utbud och stora möjligheter till variation i användningen av läromedel idag. Vilka läromedel som väljs i undervisningen beror på olika ramfaktorer såsom elevgruppen, deras prestationsförmåga, intresse, motivation, tid och skolans ekonomiska resurser.I vår studie presenteras hur en lärare och hennes fem elever upplever engelskundervisning och vilka deras åsikter är kring läromedlen. Studiens utgångspunkt är en kvalitativ undersökning baserad på intervjuer med denna lärare och dessa elever.Vårt syfte är att belysa hur elever och lärare upplever undervisning i engelska i årskurs 9 med fokus på val, användning och utvärdering av läromedel.Resultatet visar att eleverna efterfrågar mer muntlig engelska under lektionstiden, vilket inte tycks tillgodoses med de läromedel som används. Eleverna har trots detta en positiv inställning till de läromedel som används samt till engelskundervisning och de ser fördelar med färdigheter i ämnet. Betydelsen av engelska språket för kommunikation med omvärlden anses viktig.
