Aim: The aim of this study was to examine a way to measure students? knowledge development by using a self-made measure instrument based on William Doll?s postmodern curriculum.Question: Is it suitable to use an self-made measure instrument based on William Doll?s post-modern curriculum theory to measure development of knowledge?Methods: The study was based on process-hermeneutics and was focused on analysingcollege students? written and oral reflective thoughts. The data was collected over three lessons, where six students? written reflective thoughts were handed in. An observation was carried out each lesson for an extra control of validity.

This is a thesis on information design with a focus on text design. The purpose of this study is to gather knowledge about how information on the Easy-to-Read website, of the police, should be composed so that immigrants more easily will be able to read and understand the content. The goal of the study is to present a design proposal based on the knowledge that has been found through principles for readability, theoretical perspectives and literature, together with methods; readability analysis and interviews. The interviews were performed individually with the coordinator at polisen.se as well as four students from SFI (Swedish for immigrants). The study showed that the content on the website of the police is not adequately adapted to the needs of the target group. It also exhibited that the website's disposition is unclear, and that complicated terms are not explained.

Den här studien undersöker hur det vidgade textbegreppet, som breddar synen på text från att enbart gälla skriven text till att även innefatta bild, musik, film och andra medier, de facto används och fungerar i skolans verklighet.I studien tecknas först en bild av det forskningsläge som ligger till grund för hela studien och som samtidigt anknyter till undersökningsämnet.Den metod som används är en kvalitativ semistrukturerad intervjumetod där åtta respondenter, fyra lärare och fyra elever, intervjuas.Resultatet visar att det tycks finnas ett glapp mellan styrdokumentens tankar om det vidgade textbegreppet i skolan och hur det faktiskt ser ut i skolan.Uppsatsen avslutas med en diskussion där det i två teman, Textbegreppet i en vid definition och Olika syn på olika medier, diskuteras kring de empiriska resultaten i anknytning till den forskning som lyfts upp i studien. I studiens avslutande del, Avslutande reflektioner, poängteras glappet mellan styrdokumenten och verkligheten och en mer vid syn på textbegreppet uppmuntras..

Facilitated by the breakthrough of the internet, new ways of organizing internet-based projects that harness the power of the crowds are becoming increasingly common. Today there are ways of using the crowd as paid labour, as funders of your new project ventures and even for helping scientists doing science. Staying true to its traditional principles of objectivity and trustworthiness while asking the crowd to contribute, crowd generated ?Citizen Science? does not provide even the slightest amount of pay in exchange for the time and effort put in by their contributors. Surely there can not be many people willing to do such a thing voluntarily? Actually, practice is showing the exact opposite with contributions counted in their millions among the more popular Citizen Science projects.

We have used a qualitative approach and our thesis is based on a qualitative text analysis study where we have analyzed 13 articles (the articles are from scholarly journals, magazines and trade/professional) from 2007 to 2009.

Safe operation of a large synchronous power system as Nordel is not an easy task.There are several aspects to take into consideration. This thesis focuses on the problems due to voltage collapses in a transmission system.The ability to foresee an upcoming collapse is vital to maintain stable operation of the grid. The grid operator at Svenska Kraftnät (SvK) uses the computer program SPICA to predict the maximum transfer limit at specified transfer sections. SPICA uses actual states from the grid to predict the transfer limitation, and a quarter later a renewed estimate is produced and so on. This means that the operator can se his transfer limits vary every fifteen minutes.Our task in this project is to validate the accuracy of the limitations obtained by SPICA.

Syftet med detta arbete är att studera elevers tidiga utveckling av förmågan att avkoda text och attbeskriva huvudtyper av olika utvecklingsvägar. Frågor som besvaras är vilka steg som kanidentifieras i utvecklingen av förmågan av avkoda text i den tidiga läsutvecklingen i årskurs ettoch två samt vilka huvudtyper av utvecklingsvägar som kan identifieras. För att svara på dessafrågor har 46 elevers tidiga läsning analyserats vid tre tillfällen under ett år. Vid läsningenanalyseras fyra olika aspekter av läsande. Dessa är ljudning, korrigering, avvikelse och förståelse.Fyra olika utvecklingsvägar har identifierats.

Syftet med litteraturstudien var att undersöka vad forskningen säger omeffekterna av användandet av bilder i samband med läsutveckling med utgångspunkt ilärandepotential för eleverna.Artiklarna var åtta till antalet och innefattade fem kvantitativa undersökningar och trelitteraturstudier. De teman som har betydelse är i de kvantitativa artiklarna; inferenser,arbetsminne, ögonfixering, bildpreferenser, fysisk interaktion med bilder samt läsförståelse. Ilitteraturstudierna identifierades 4 olika teman; lärarens roll, meningsskapande genom bildoch text, elevers utveckling och vår tids krav.

The problem, which I want to highlight in this essay, is about my fear of losing face in conversationwith the parents of my text. I'm going through different approaches to find out what is happening inmy meetings with parents. I will also see if the knowledge that I get will help me to get deeperunderstanding of my reactions in different situations and if this opens up new possible ways ofhandling them.In my text there will be two stories where the conversation with parents has been difficult. Theyboth illustrate my uncertainty concerning the unpredictability of conversations with distressed orstressed parents. I can prepare the environment, by cleaning and making it look nice before meetingwith the parents.

Syftet med detta arbete är att ta reda på hur lärarna upplever att lässvaga elever påverkas av sina lässvårigheter inom matematiken samt hur lärarna hanterar de problem som uppstår för att hjälpa eleven. Jag har valt den kvalitativa arbetsmetoden med semistrukturerade intervjufrågor. Resultatet visar att svag läsförmåga påverkar eleven inom matematiken men också inom andra ämnen. Inom matematiken påverkas eleven särskilt vid lästal samt vid problemlösning om eleven lämnas ensam med en text som den inte klarar av att läsa eller tyda. För att stödja eleven kan läraren eller någon annan läsa texten eller så arbetar eleverna i grupp där samarbetet mot resultatet är viktigast, inte att kunna läsa texten.

The purpose of this essay is, using discourse analysis, to define how the Swedish society sees sexuality and how this is conveyed to young people. The questions at issue are; How is the term sexuality defined and delimited? How are the young people described in relation to sexuality? Are young people ascribed to different needs and qualities in relation to sexuality depending on their gender?There is previously a lot of research with great multitude about the sexuality of the youth. The research methods vary but text analysis within the subject area is unusual. The material used in this discourse analysis have been published by normative public institutions.

The analysis focused on four themes: 1) framing in the articles, 2) impersonation in the articles, 3) the democratic task of journalism and 4) the expectations of journalism in an election campaign.Main results: The main results showed that the difference between the two parties either was nonexistent or very small. The articles were sometimes framed in specific ways, but a big amount of the articles were not framed. Impersonation occurred in about half of the cases, concerning both parties.

The aim of this paper is to examine which attitudes and experiences teachers have around the wide text concept, which is found in the course plan for the Swedish subject, and to find out which function films have in their teaching. The starting point of the paper?s theoretical part is the Swedish subject?s course plans and current research concerning the wide text concept and film in teaching. In order to achieve the formulated aim, qualitative interviews have been performed with three Swedish teachers active in the later years of compulsory-school.The result shows that there are divided opinions of the actual meaning of the concept. However the three teachers agree that film has something to enrich the teaching of the Swedish language and they are for most part positive to using film in their teaching.

The primary task of the system is to simplify the ECG survey for patients who suffers from different kinds of arrythmias, for example heart fibrillation. With this system is it possible for the patients to do their ECG survey by them self at home and then send the signal with their telephone or mobilphone to a server.
