The purpose of this study is to investigate the reading methods that pedagogues, active in classes 1-3, use in the first stage of learning to read and how they consider their own choices of methods. In the theoretical background I sort out the basic differences between synthetic and analytic methods of acquiring the skills of reading. The analytic reading method means that the skills of reading starts with the complete text in order to later analyze the parts of the text. The synthetic method approach is based on a reading method where the parts are linked as a whole. The two methods are considered antipodes but can also be looked upon as complements in the current governing documents.

The purpose of the study was from the perspective of young people that has completed a stay at HVB-home. The respondents are between 15-21 years both boys and girls. The basic questions were: How do the respondents look upon this HVB-homes service process? How do the respondents look upon this HVB-homes service contents? How do the respondents look upon this HVB-homes service regarding available information and how the staff is available? What positive and negative experience do they have from their stay at the HVB-home? We also wish to get a picture of what is important to change to improve the quality on this HVB-home. To receive answers to those questions we formed a questionnaire.

Syftet med detta arbete är att studera elevers tidiga utveckling av förmågan att avkoda text och attbeskriva huvudtyper av olika utvecklingsvägar. Frågor som besvaras är vilka steg som kanidentifieras i utvecklingen av förmågan av avkoda text i den tidiga läsutvecklingen i årskurs ettoch två samt vilka huvudtyper av utvecklingsvägar som kan identifieras. För att svara på dessafrågor har 46 elevers tidiga läsning analyserats vid tre tillfällen under ett år. Vid läsningenanalyseras fyra olika aspekter av läsande. Dessa är ljudning, korrigering, avvikelse och förståelse.Fyra olika utvecklingsvägar har identifierats.

The absence of female directors on Swedish corporate boards is currently a hot topic for both politicians and business leaders all over the world. This thesis aims to discuss reasons for the scarcity of women on boards in Swedish publicly listed companies as well as what actions are taken to alter the composition of these boards. A rigorous selection of gender theories have been used together with data collected from in-depth interviews with mainly board members and nomination committees. Extensive analysis has led to findings that historical perceptions of differences between men and women linger as of today, which prevents women to reach top executive levels as well as board positions. The increasing use of headhunters has encouraged companies to look beyond male-dominated networks in an attempt to widen the range of potential board nominees.

Syftet med detta arbete var att kritiskt granska historieläromedel ur ett genusperspektiv.Arbetet belyser hur utvalda karaktärer såsom Gustav Vasa, Gustav II Adolf och drottningKristina framställs i text under en 20 års period, det vill säga från år 1980-2000. För attavgränsa mig valde jag att granska sju läroböcker i ämnet historia, som är eller har varitläromedel för årskurs 4-6. Avsikten med arbetet är att se vilka egenskaper som förmedlas omde ovanstående karaktärerna, och om läromedlen är förenliga med styrdokumentens krav omjämställdhet. Resultatet visade bland annat att de manliga karaktärerna utmärktes medegenskaper såsom: Ledarskap, aktiva, energiska och kloka. Samt att Kristinas egenskaperutmärktes såsom: Omogen, pojkaktig och känslosam.

The quantity of methane emissions from sheep depend on several factors, for example, the composition of the diet, feed quality, the age of the animals, time of the day and maybe also breed and sex. A comprising literature review was made about which factors that affect the size of emissions. In addition, a questionnaire was sent to two farms, one with a more intensive production system and another with a more extensive system. Inventories of the two farms were made; the rest of the data needed to conduct the study was taken from literature and other sources. Meat produced at the more intensive farm caused emissions of 0.4 kg of methane per kg of bone free meat and the more extensive farm caused emissions of 0.9 kg methane per kg of bone free meat.

Salome is the myth of the Oriental princess who dances for her stepfather, Herod the tetrark at his banquet. He becomes so enchanted by Salome's dance that he allows her to wish for what she wants. On the advice of Queen Herodias, Salome's mother, she asks the head of prophet John on a platter. Herod is horrified, but grants Salome's desire.This is the first in a series of Salome petitions as Mark and Matthew in the New Testament. Salome has since then never ceased to fascinate artists and writers through the ages.

The tomato is an important crop worldwide, and in recent years it has received great attention due to its rich content of carotenoids, which in studies indicate to have health benefiting properties. Many studies have been done in this area of research and in how to optimize the carotenoid content in tomatoes and tomato products. The objectives of this essay were to summarize present data in this field. The results were as follows:There are nine different carotenoids identified in tomatoes. Lycopene and ?-carotene are the ones that have been given the greatest attention.

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur bilden av Dalarna förmedlas genom internet och massmedia.Frågeställning: Hur ser Dalarnas platsmarknadsföring ut via Visit Dalarna? Hur förmedlar kommunikationsföretaget VisitSweden bilden av Dalarna till omvärlden? Hur förmedlas bilden av Dalarna i massmedia?Metod: För att svar kopplade till frågeställningen har en text- och bildanalys använts där icke sannolikhetsurval har legat till grund. Vidare har forskaren valt att använda hermeneutiken som förklaras som läran av tolkning. Studien är skriven utifrån en induktiv ansats där en kvalitativ metod används.Resultat: Efter att ha analyserat insamlad data blev slutsatsen att Dalarna har en platsmarknadsföring som stämmer överens mellan olika kanaler. Dessa kanaler förmedlar Dalarnas identitet med hjälp av texter och bilder.

This study focuses on a reconstruction proposal of a small part of a rural churchyard that has lost a big part of its history, in form of its conformation and plant material. The chosen part of the cemetery was established in 1938, and this proposal is an interpretation of the architect?s original plan, the workers wishes and my own observations and experiences of the place. In this proposal I have tried to balance the plants composition to create an environment that can benefit the biological diversity, that fits the locations habitat and today?s maintenance.

Syftet med denna studie är att granska hur den bild som förmedlas av individer med en annan etnisk bakgrund än svensk är konstruerad i bilderböcker. Detta sker genom en kvalitativ text- och innehållsanalys av fem bilderböcker utgivna mellan år 1995 - 2012. Böckerna som analyseras ärNoah och bästa grejen, En hög med snö, Den andra mamman, Alfons och soldatpappan samt Afrika bakom staketet. För att uppnå syftet har tre frågeställningar formulerats: hur sker personskildringen av individer med en annan etnicitet än svensk? Hur används miljön i skildringen av individer med en annan etnicitet än svensk? Hur samverkar text och bild i skildringen av personer med en annan etnicitet än svensk? Resultatet som framkommit visar att författare väljer att närma sig etnicitet på olika sätt.

Under examenskursen har jag studerat bilder som används istället för text. Många oväntade upptäckter och insikter dök upp längs vägen, vilket ibland medförde att jag ändrade fokus. Projektets process kom därför att bli ganska krokig.Från början var jag inne på att skapa språk som bygger på bilder. Tanken var att möjliggöra internationell kommunikation och kommunikation med personer med talhandikapp. Jag tänkte ?översätta? en text till bilder, som en skiss på ett sådant språk.
