This project has as main goal to study the influence of the coating thickness, deposited by arc-PVD- technology, on the wear resistance of coated cemented carbide inserts in three different turning operations. An additional effort has also been made to develop a new test method for evaluating flank wear resistance. Three different coating types (Coating A, Coating B and Coating C) have been studied in three distinctive thicknesses (2, 4 and 6 µm) for each type. For two of the coating types (Coating A and B) special studies has been done with the thickest coating, creating two additional coating versions of the thickest coating, by changing various deposition parameters, with the aim to enhance the cohesive properties of the coating and lower the residual stresses at the cutting edge. The results show increased crater wear resistance with increased coating thickness for all coating types, but the amount of increase changes with coating type (Coating A>B>C).

33 referendum has taken place in european states regarding the European Union since the fall of the Berlin wall. This thesis aims to initialy identify potential patterns in this group of referenda to launch and test a theory/hypothesis anchored in this pattern.The european states are differing in nature and the standard of living is chosen as the factor that can potentially have affected the outcome of the referenda held. The carrying thought here being that the voters in states with considerably lower standard of living than the european average would have a more positive attitude towards a deepened cooperation among european states.To try this connection between standard of living and how european citizens have placed their votes a main and principal quantitative test is undertaken. It is followed by discussion and arguments about the result of the test.The argumentation goes from being hopefull of the strenght of the hypothesis, to a more ciritical view of its' strength. The thesis is wrapped up in some argumentation about how and why it fails to explain what it was initially intended to do.

Uppsatsen fokuserar på hur begreppet hållbar utveckling behandlas i läroböcker i Samhällskunskap A. Syftet med min undersökning är att studera hur hållbar utveckling behandlas i samhällsböckerna i kurs A och jämföra om det finns en diskrepans med kursmålen och hur detta förhållande har förändrats över tid. Som metod har jag valt att göra en läromedelsanalys där jag utifrån en egen operationalisering av begreppet hållbar utveckling undersöker hur lärobokstexterna behandlar begreppet. Undersökningen visade att hållbar utveckling inte har någon central roll i läroböckerna och att väldigt lite har förändrats mellan undersökningstiden 1995 till 2005. Dessutom kan man hävda att det finns en diskrepans mellan läroböckerna och kursmålen, i synnerhet när det gäller dagens kursmål och de senaste läroböckerna..

Mitt syfte med den här studien är att beskriva och ge en förståelse för hur pedagoger i förskolan uppfattar och förhåller sig till begreppet hållbar utveckling och vad det innebär för arbetet i barngruppen. Studien är genomförd med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer och en videofilmningsobservation som metod. Intervjuerna genomfördes med fyra förskollärare på olika förskolor i en och samma kommun. I resultatet framkommer det att förskollärarna har stora kunskapsskillnader vad gäller hållbar utveckling, även intresse och engagemang varierar bland förskollärarna. Hållbar utveckling och lärande för hållbar utveckling är ett komplext begrepp som förskollärarna tolkar och förstår på olika sätt.

An investigation of the heat impact of laser cutting on the material properties when producing tensile and impact test specimens of different steel types of varying thickness has been performed. The purpose of the thesis project was to provide recommendations regarding how much material that needs to be milled from the laser cut edge before tensile and impact tests. The study has been performed partly by investigating the test specimens by heat camera when the specimens were cut in the laser cutting line and partly by performing hardness tests, investigation by microscopy, and tolerance and roughness measurements and tensile tests of the laser cut material and material produced in the traditional multi operation machine. The results show that the heat affected zone in the thicker materials is greater than previously thought of, and that the currently used recommendation has to be adjusted. The study clearly shows that the thicker the material, the greater the heat affected zone, independently of the steel type, since the thicker material takes longer time to cut.

This thesis is an attempt to study how a library that is driven by a contractor works. How allinvolved parts can cooperate. The main method used, is qualitative interviews. The authorshave made a survey at the public library in Järna in Södertälje county, where Boktjänst i JärnaAB has the business on contract since 1991.Following areas have been studied: organisation and assignment; librarysphere of activity andservices; the relations to the main library, and the vision for the future of the library.Some of the conclusions drawn by the authors are that when tenders are invited for a job, thelocal conditions must be taken into consideration. To have the same employer for the wholelibrary staff are likely to simplify the matters.

Bakgrund: Unilateral benträning är ett relativt outforskat område inom träningsvetenskapen. Traditionellt genomförs fysträning för intermittenta idrotter bilateralt, trots att idrottens rörelser sker unilateralt. Det finns många studier som behandlar samband mellan agility och effektutveckling, men få som har undersökt skillnaden mellan unilateral och bilateral effektutveckling sett till agility.Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om unilateral effektutveckling har en starkare korrelation med agility än vad bilateral effektutveckling och agility har hos kvinnliga fotbollsspelare i division 2.Metod: Kvinnliga fotbollsspelare (n=13, ålder 23 ± 4 år) utförde vertikalhopp med tilläggsbelastning på båda benen, vänster ben och höger ben på 20 kg, 30 kg, 40 kg samt för båda benen på 50 kg och T-test och Pro agility test. Effektutveckling i förhållande till kroppsvikten på båda benen (PBbw), vänster ben (PVbw) och höger ben (PHbw) analyserades och korrelerades sedan mot T-test (Ttest) och Pro agility test (Proagility).Resultat: Signifikanta korrelationer hittades mellan agility och både vänster unilateral (PVbw-Ttest, r = -0,578) och bilateral (PBbw-Ttest, r = -0,741; PBbw-Proagility, r = -0,555) effektutveckling, där korrelationen bilateralt var starkast. Ingen signifikant korrelation hittades mellan höger ben och agility.Konklusion: Bilateral effektutveckling hade en starkare korrelation med agility än vad unilateral effektutveckling och agility hade hos kvinnliga fotbollsspelare i division 2..

Bakgrund: I Sverige finns en allmän målbild om en långsiktigt hållbar utveckling och för att uppnå denna målbild har lagen om producentansvar instiftats. Som svar på lagstiftningen och för att operationalisera målet om en långsiktigt hållbar utveckling har materialbolag bildats. Verksamheten syftar till att uppnå uppsatta mål om återvinningsgrader. Det senaste inom återvinningsverksamheten är utvecklingen av fastighetsnära insamling. I utbyggnadsprocessen finns ett incitamentsproblem där fastighetsägare har svårt att se ekonomiska incitament till att införa fastighetsnära insamling.

The ability to tackle NP-hard problems has been greatly extended by the introduction of Metaheuristics (see Blum & Roli (2003)) for a summary of most Metaheuristics, general problem-independent optimisation algorithms extending the hill-climbing local search approach to escape local minima. One of these algorithms is Iterated Local Search (ILS) (Lourenco et al., 2002; Stützle, 1999a, p. 25ff), a recent easy to implement but powerful algorithm with results comparable or superior to other state-of-the-art methods for many combinatorial optimisation problems, among them the Traveling Salesman (TSP) and Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP). ILS iteratively samples local minima by modifying the current local minimum and restartinga local search porcedure on this modified solution. This thesis will show how ILS can be implemented for MSA.

Vi vill med detta examensarbete undersöka om skiftet från miljö undervisning till hållbar utveckling har skett, och hur väl känt begreppet hållbar utveckling är hos lärarna. Syftet med undersökningen är också att utveckla kunskap om de anvisningar som finns i våra styrdokument rörande hållbar utveckling följs och vilka arbetsmetoder som används. Vi har gjort kvalitativa intervjuer med sex lärare och två med rektorer från skolor på mindre tätorter. Resultatet av denna studie visar att majoriteten av de lärare vi intervjuat inte har någon djupare kunskap om begreppet hållbar utveckling. Den undervisning som i dag finns har främst ett miljöperspektiv. De metoder som används i den undervisning som sker har främst en tematisk profil..

Today?s course Idrott och hälsa A, at the upper secondary school level, consists of 100 points and all students take this course apart from students attending apprentice programs.

The purpose of this essay is to examine Swedish HR-managers who have either received, or been nominated for, the award ?HR-manager of the Year?. We investigate the managers? personalities, how they think about their own role and HR?s function in the organization, all in an environment that can be characterized by some skepticism towards HR. We find the HR-managers to be ?winners?; strong individuals that are confident, communicative, and driven.

Syftet med vår studie var att undersöka hur förskollärarna på förskolor som har fått utmärkelsen Skola för hållbar utveckling arbetar med hållbar utveckling i förskolan, ta reda på hur förskollärares förståelse för hållbar utveckling ser ut och i vilken mån förskollärarna i sitt arbete utgår från de tre aspekterna ekonomiskt, socialt och ekologiskt hållbar utveckling. Vi valde att använda oss av kvalitativa individuella intervjuer. Vi har intervjuat fem förskollärare från två olika kommuner, varav tre stycken arbetade på samma förskola men på olikaavdelningar. Resultatet av vår studie visar både på likheter samt olikheter i förskollärarnas arbetssätt med hållbar utveckling i förskolan, där temainriktat arbete, återvinning samt barns delaktighet är sådant som präglar förskolornas arbete. Barns delaktighet och medvetenhet om hållbar utveckling lyfts fram av förskollärarna som viktiga delar i deras förståelse av hållbar utveckling.

When establishing a groundwater protection area it is of great interest to be able to estimate the transit time of the groundwater from different places of the aquifer to the withdrawal well. These estimates can be uncertain due to heterogeneities in the aquifer. As a part of the work to develop methods for a more certain delineation of protection areas, a tracer test was performed in an esker located 25 kilometres NW of the town Uppsala.The purpose of this master thesis was to perform, describe and evaluate the tracer test. Travel times from the tracer test should then enable comparison against stochastic simulated travel times of the groundwater in the area.Three dyes (rhodamine WT, uranine and naphtionate) and a salt (NaBr) were used in the tracer test. The tracers were injected in four different wells located 25 meters from a pumping well.

The aim of my study is to answer the question whether there is a potential for services by working horses in the Swedish municipalities. The Swedish University for Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and Swedish Farmers Union (LRF) has started a cooperation called Climate School (Klimatskolan), with the purpose to increase knowledge in environmental and climate related issues in context of agriculture.
