Oljeprisets påverkan på svensk och europeisk ekonomi är högaktuell ? det skapar dagligen rubriker i massmedia. Inte minst på aktiemarknaden iakttas oljepriset noggrant. Denna studie undersöker huruvida statistiska samband mellan oljepriset och olika aktieindex kan påvisas, och även huruvida dessa går att utnyttja för prognostisering. Fyra branschindex ? industri, kemi, transport och råvaror ? samt generalindex, för Sverige respektive EU, undersöks.Kointegrations- och regressionsanalys används för att undersöka sambanden mellan oljepris och aktieindex, och resultaten tillämpas sedan för prognostisering.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur etisk produktion påverkar konsumenters attityd gentemot en ökad investering vid konsumtion. Vedertagen teori menar på att etisk produktion har en positiv påverkan på den genomsnittlige konsumentens attityd och att konsumenter kan tänka sig att betala ett högre pris för produkter producerade på etiskt vis. Med syfte att konkretisera begreppet CSR och underlätta för respondenterna i enkätundersökningen används begreppet etisk produktion med hänvisning till äggkonsumtion. Aspekterna av begreppet etisk produktion som ligger till grund för denna studie är miljövänlig transport och god hönshållning. Studiens resultat redogör för att konsumenter är positivt inställda till att betala ett högre pris för produkter producerade på ett etiskt vis och att etisk produktion är ett produktattribut som påverkar konsumenternas attityd gentemot konsumtion..

This master thesis is about designing and dimensioning a boat for transport of caravan, car, trailer or ATV. Buoyancy and stability are important properties as the pontoonboat should also be able to serve as a workboat. Many of the vessels on the market today that is being used for similar purpose are stable enough, but their hull is often similar with barges and thus too slow. This work has been to construct a boat that has good stability but also has a hull that enables it to move faster, is more maneuverable and having a more attracting design than today?s barges.

Denna studie handlar om den fartförlust och därmed den ökade energiförbrukningen som drabbar fartyg på grunt vatten. Syftet var att ta reda på hur mycket kortare en grund passage behöver vara för att den ska vara ett bättre alternativ än en lång och djup rutt med hänsyn till bränsleförbrukning och tidsåtgång. Resultatet av detta blev att det inte går att dra några generella slutsatser som gäller för alla fartygstyper men att det går att se tydliga tendenser. Studien hade även som målsättning att skapa ett underlag som skulle kunna användas av nautiker vid planering av resor, detta presenterades i form av en sammanställning av de resultat som erhållits vid beräkning av fartförlust i öppet vatten. Någon sammanställning gjordes inte för begränsat vatten eftersom exempelfartygen där fick likadana resultat vilket skulle ha gjort en sådan överflödig.

När paket transporteras vintertid kommer dessa att kylas ned av den låga utomhustemperaturen. Vid ankomst till sorteringsterminalen kommer paketen ha antagit en lägre temperatur än den i terminalen. Under tiden som paketen hanteras i terminalen kommer deras temperatur att stiga på grund av den högre inomhustemperaturen. Detta medför ett ökat uppvärmningsbehov i terminalen vilket således bidrar till en ökad uppvärmningskostnad och miljöpåverkan. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att ta fram en modell som beskriver energiflödet under transport och sortering för att kunna beräkna storleken på det ökade energibehovet som uppstår i paketterminalerna vintertid då nedkylda paket hanteras. Energibehovet skall sedan sättas i samband med den extra uppvärmningskostnad och miljöpåverkan som paketen ger upphov till.

Researchers, planners, and government agencies agree that road safety for children must be a priority and in particular that children should have a safe and secure way to travel to and from school regardless of age or the distance travelled. In Sweden, child traffic safety is a key part of the country?s Nollvision, a long-term traffic policy goal of ?no deaths or serious injuries?. Unfortunately, many countries have recorded increases in child traffic accidents as the percentage of parents who drive their children to school and thus congestion around schools has increased. Common strategies include traffic safety education for children, the redesign and improvement of traffic infrastructure, bicycle training, and carpooling.This thesis assesses the traffic problem around Ludvigsberg School in the district Valbo in Gävle, Sweden.

In the last few years there has been an ongoing debate concerning the methods of assessing the quality of public libraries and their services. This study investigates the opinions and needs of the users at four different public libraries in Malm : the local libraries in Bellevueg rden, Limhamn, and Kirseberg, and the main library in central Malm . The purpose was to find out whether different user groups display different patterns in their library use and, in addition, to identify what library services they prefer. The data were collected through interviews with users and librarians, and by means of a user survey ccarried out at the four libraries. The results indicate that certain differences in the usage patterns do exist between the main library and the local libraries.

The structure and performance of grocery distribution in Sweden has changed profoundly since the second world war. Increasing access and usage of the private car, in combination with an accommodating town planning has enhanced the exploitation of scale economies within distribution firms. There is, however, some ambiguity concerning the overall efficiency of the distribution system when the costs associated with travelling and purchasing performed by households are treated as an integrated part of the total distribution cost function. The purpose of this master thesis is to develop the foundation of a spatial optimisation model, which defines the most efficient distribution system. The underlying idea is that the optimal localisation and size of grocery stores is a function of economies of scale within the firms weighed against distributions costs within the households, such as transportation costs.

Arbetet med denna studie gick ut på att inventera vilka metoder som använts i Dannemora gruva av Dannemora Mineral AB (DMAB) gällande skuthanteringen under jord och ovan jord samt belysa och ge förslag på hur skuthanteringen skulle kunna effektiviseras och eventuellt generera en ökad mängd färdiga produkter och tillika högre intäkter för företaget.Med en mer effektiv skuthantering med fokus på separering av gråberg och malm, både under och ovan jord, hade DMAB erhållit mer färdiga produkter och därmed högre intäkter. Uppsatsens resultat motiverar att en förstudie inleds i företaget. Tillkomsten av nya arbetsmoment innebär naturligtvis en kostnad men den torde vara liten och högst försvarlig i sammanhanget men måste utredas i den rekommenderade förstudien. Det handlar också om andra besparingsaspekter som exempelvis minskade transport- och hanteringskostnader och i förlängningen även miljöbesparing, vilka dock ej är medtagna i den här studien..

The purpose of this study is to highlight how a ring road and an external retail establishment may affect the city commerce. Umeå is the study object with interesting undergoing changes including a new external retail area south of the city and a new transport route that will lead the through traffic around the city.The study is based on a review of previous studies and a qualitative method. Four interviews were conducted with people who have a connection to commerce and/or municipal planning and where considered able to contribute with rich and relevant information. The result shows that the commerce in Umeå will be significantly strengthened in the context of a new external commercial establishment when the city?s overall attractiveness increases.

Husqvarna AB operates two warehouses located in the area of Jönköping. The most important task is to manage the large volume fluctuations during the peak season. DHL Exel Supply Chain (DESC) run the warehouses and the domestic transportations is outsourced to DHL Express. A number of forwarder agents are responsible for distributing the export gods. In the present situation a bottleneck occurs at the warehouse loading section, and the consequence is fulfill the time of delivery for all customer orders.

On the behalf of the European commission suggestions were made on how to increase the usage of public transportation in cities in Europe. A suggestion on how to make public transportation more popular was to use more emotions when marketing public transportation. However, according to theory emotional marketing is best suited for products that have a more hedonic character which public transportation does not usually have. The aim of this report was to investigate if emotional marketing could have a more positive effect on the attitude toward public transportation than less emotional marketing. Ads for the metro in Stockholm were made and it was tested to what degree they conveyed positive emotions.

The everyday work at a staffing agency and how its leaders deal with the problems that appears: A case study at Maxkompetens.The purpose of this paper is to increase the understanding of how leaders at a staffing company deal with the everyday problems that arise from a geographically dispersed workforce.The staffing industry has grown by 30-40 percent annually and has over the past 15 years been the fastest growing industry in Sweden. This shows that the interest and demand for the staffing industry and its activities are now rising at an increasingly faster pace. This is an industry that is operating under specific conditions and with a geographically dispersed workforce. This will make the leaders of a staffing company to an important link between the staffing leaders and the staffing personnel.The relationship between the staffing company's leaders and its personnel is important, but not completely trouble free. Difficulties arise in that the employees may be located in different places and at various client companies with the result that the leaders of the staffing company cannot have a daily personal contact with their geographically dispersed personnel.We have used a qualitative approach on our paper and our empirical methodology has been a case study with ethnography and interviews.

Den första juli 2007 kommer en ny transporträttskonvention att träda i kraft. Konventionen förbereds av FN-organet UNCITRAL och avser behandla internationella transporter, där hela eller största delen av transporten sker till sjöss. De multimodala transporterna ? alltså de där mer än ett transportsätt används i en transportkedja ? ökar stadigt i omfattning och behovet av en harmonisering av internationella transporter är stort. Eftersom UNCITRAL:s konvention ämnar omfatta även till internationella sjötransporter anslutande landtransporter är ett av uppsatsens syften att undersöka hur omfattande denna multimodalitet är.
