A method for measuring the total impulse from a multi hole diesel injector, introduced inprevious thesis work, ?Development of a method and a device for measuring the momentumrate of fuel sprays?, by Mikael Lindström, has been further developed and tested. The conceptis to simultaneously deflect all sprays from a multi hole diesel injector by using a bell shapeddeflector. The fuel sprays are deflected straight down from their initial umbrella angle, andthe resulting deflection force is measured in a thin strained section of the load cell. The strainis given by three strain gauges, with quarter-bridge circuitry for each gauge.

At Forsmark nuclear power plant the rather old-fashioned software COPTA is used in containment safety analysis. There exists a desire within the organisation to introduce a more modern software with ability to more detailed modeling and increased usability.The goal of this thesis was to evaluate the software APROS in containment safety analysis. APROS models describing one of the containments at Forsmark NPP have been developed. Two simulations of typical containment incidents, one of them a large pipe break, have been made where containment safety parameters such as pressure and temperature are studied. Results are analyzed and verified against results from corresponding COPTA models.

The 22q11.2 deletion syndrome is a common genetic disorder that affects for example the heart, palate, immune system and hearing and therefore affects a child?s development. The purpose of this study was to investigate the proportion of children (0-18 years) with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome who have a hearing loss. A retrospective study of 103 children diagnosed with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome was conducted by medical records. Of the 103 children, 51 were boys and 52 were girls.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att titta på och eventuellt upptäcka vissa samband mellan de vanligaste klimatparametrarna (lufttemperatur, sol, vind, luftfuktighet och lufttryck) och inomhusklimatet. Inomhusklimatet är i detta arbete det samma som luftens temperatur inomhus.Även en sammanställning av två studier kring NordIQ?s styrning av värmesystemet och tappvarmvattnet görs. En stor del av arbetet har varit att sammanställa och studera insamlad data från bland annat en väderstation.Under den här perioden (våren) är det solen och utomhustemperaturen som har störst påverkan på temperaturen inomhus. En stor del inom energisektorn idag handlar om att använda energin effektivare och minska på utsläppen. The wastewater treatment plant at GE Healthcare's facility in Uppsala deployed a three step vacuum evaporator in 2007. The purpose of this was to pre-treat wastewater containing amines. The purpose of this thesis was to optimize thisprocess by reducing the amount of concentrate without releasing more nitrogen tothe environment and to examine if density could be used as a measurement of whenthe process should be ended.To create a foundation for optimization six test cycles were conducted with samples taken from all three steps. Both concentrate and condensate were tested as well as the incoming solution. Furthermore, the thesis has been expanded with a benchmarking part examining two different evaporators.

Today?s system to measure the volume in a tank consists of a vertically placed sensor. When a vehicle is tilted the level of the fluid might change and if the volume is calculated based only on the information from the sensor it could result in a incorrect value.This thesis exams a new method to calculate the volume in tanks by using sensor fusion to crosscheck the i formation from the level sensors when the vehicle is tilted. The information is then used to see if it is possible to identify the grade of tilt by the change of fluid level. If the grade of tilt can be measured then the volume can be calculated in a more accurate way.

This report is the result of a diploma work made at IMT at US in Linköping. The purpose of this piece of work is to investigate the possibility to design a general program for data-acquisition using LabVIEW, suiting different hardwares and connections. Great importance has been attached to communication with serialport, using bluetooth, because different wireless PPG-instruments has been developed parallel to this project. These PPG-circuits uses this type of serialcommunication. Communication with USB, GPIB and analog connection has also been examined and analog communication has been tested practically.

Starting in January 2007, capital adequacy of internationally active banks will be regulated by the new Basel Capital Accord, International Convergence of Capital Measurement and Capital Standards ? a revised framework, [Basel II]. The framework introduces for the first time minimum capital requirements for operational risk and encourages market discipline of capital adequacy by initiating requirements for public disclosure of quantitative and qualitative information on operational risk exposure. This thesis examines the nature, definition, management and public disclosure of operational risk in Scandinavian banks based on regulations and recommendations presented in Basel II. We find that the models currently available for addition of operational risk to the capital requirement do not reflect actual operational risk exposure of banks.

Vi tar vår utgångspunkt i skolans roll som förmedlare av demokratiska värderingar. Vi studerar olika sätt att se på begreppet demokrati och problematiken i relationer mellan demokrati och skolan. Vi använder ett konstruktionistiskt perspektiv, där vi betonar vårt förhållande till forskningsprocessen. Vi betonar även svårigheterna i att särskilja delar i uppsatsen, så som metod, teori och empiri.Vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att problematisera relationer kring demokratibegreppet i gymnasieskolan, främst i relationen till betyg.Till empiriproduktionen har vi använt oss av tre samtal med personal på en gymnasieskola i Malmö. Vi har även studerat texter som Lpf 94, Värdegrundsboken och en rad debattartiklar.
