The purpose of this thesis is to compare mass digitization and qualitative digitization, to see how the digitization process and the digitalized material differ. The study emanates from the mass digitization as it is performed at the National Library in Norway, and the qualitative digitization at the Royal Library in Sweden. The method used is document studies combined with mail interviews. The focus is upon the practical operation, to which counts: ?purpose & selection?, ?preparation, image capturing and processing?, ?metadata & text encoding?, ?quality assessment?, ?storage of digital originals and copies? and ?display?.

This study concerns digital stories told by five young Romani students and one teacher from Roma Culture Class in Stockholm, Sweden. The theoretical framework draws from theories concerning identity, culture,Romanipe, the Romani value system and social semiotics. The material for the study is the digital stories that were analyzed qualitatively. The results show that the young Roma in the study demonstrate pride in their Romani background and culture, but also signs of changes and development in their culture. Some of the participants do not show external signs of Romani traditions, for example in the ways of dressing.

The intention of this essay has been to investigate how the new digital technology has affected the tourism industry and marketing, as well as how travel agents and tour operators adapt to this. We also aimed to get a broader view of how the future might look like when it comes to marketing and virtual service landscapes. The purpose of this study is to examine young people?s opinions about libraries using social media for communicative and marketing purposes. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur lärare förhåller sig till digitala texter och digitala verktyg. Litteraturgenomgången består av forskning som berör digitala texter, digitala verktyg, mediers betydelse för barns lärande och hur lärare förhåller sig till dessa. En teoretisk utgångspunkt är det sociokulturella perspektivet på lärande med centrala begrepp som literacypraktiker, multimodalitet, medieekologi och progressivism. Vår undersökning bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer med åtta lärare och hur de förhåller sig till digitala texter och digitala verktyg, utifrån frågor som berör arbetssätt, möjligheter/hinder och påverkan från skolans styrdokument. I resultatet synliggörs fem olika förhållningssätt till digitala texter och digitala verktyg; digitala texter och digitala verktyg skapar både möjligheter och hinder, digitala texter och digitala verktyg ger stöd, digitala texter och digitala verktyg öppnar fönster till elevers fritidsvärldar, traditionella skriv- och läspraktiker som normerande syn på digitala texter och digitala verktyg samt Lgr 11 har inte förändrat något.

This essay examines the narrative aspect of interactive fiction. The study uses Janet H. Murrays analysis of the digital environment and the properties of it as procedural, participatory, spatial and encyclopedic. From this, her three characteristic pleasures in digital narratives - immersion, agency and transformation - are examined from the perspective of interactive fiction. The study also examines Nick Montforts analysis of interactive fiction as a potential narrative and a simulated world or environment.

Vårt examensarbete innebar att skapa ett system för digital lagring av trafikolyckor som inträffat i Kiruna centralort. De dataprogram vi använde oss av var ESRI Arc-view, Microsoft Access och Excel. Arbetsgång: Vi använde oss av Kiruna kommuns databas över vägnamn som via en länk kopplade ihop programmen Arc-view och Access. Alla vägnamn kommer därmed att finnas tillgängliga i Access databasen. Att kunna träna effektivt till ett avgörande prov är en förutsättning för ett bra resultat. Denna uppsats har ägnats åt möjligheten till självstudier inför ett TOEFL -prov med digitala hjälpmedel i form av applikationer till mobiltelefonen. I detta arbete jämförs två olika typer av studiemateri-al, där den ena (analog) representerar det som används för undervisning i TOEFL-kurser. Den andra (digital) representerar alternativet för de som vill skippa kursen och träna på egen hand via självstudier i telefonen. Med Schmitts metodanalys som verktyg har dessa applikationer under-sökts för att se hur pass väl de motsvarar de krav som finns för att klara READING-sektionen i ett prov. Inledningsvis håller den digitala självstudiemetoden en relativt bra standard.

Övergången till digital marksänd television rönte stor uppmärksamhet i medierna. Debatten handlade om staten som genom övergången skulle få större möjligheter till att kontrollera me-diemarknaden, om en teknik som var föråldrad och om oförberedda tittare. Gotland var först ut i detta teknikskifte och uppmärksammades speciellt. De lokala dagstidningarna har stark ställning i Sverige och har flera funktioner. De fungerar ofta som den huvudsakliga källan för den lokala samhällsorienteringen, som ett forum för den lokala debatten med såväl kommen-tarer som opinionsmaterial, både på redaktionell nivå som insändarnivå.

The aim of this research was to gain a comprehensive understanding of how daily activities impact the organizational culture within the Swedish Police enforcement agency, Polismyndigheten. The study specifically explored the influence of the purported culture of silence on organizational culture. Employing a case study approach, data were collected with a qualitative method from a total of 15 individuals, including students and officials affiliated with Polismyndigheten. The findings were categorized into five distinct groups, revealing a noticeable gap between employees and management. Additionally, the study identified generational disparities and a lack of a clear set of core values.

The articles are divided into three levels: main news, middle-sized news and notes. The material consists of 40 news articles from two Swedish daily newspapers, with a divide of 20 news articles per newspaper.Main results: This study demonstrates that there are differences in how a news article is formed in a digital as compared to an analog platform. The differences show that main news events are presented in the exact same way on both platforms. The smaller notes show vast differences in all categories and are often fuller on the digital platform, leaving information such as context and previous events out in the printed newspaper.
