This thesis looks at two sides of the same coin: how to support the production and future development at a specialist medical technology department at Danderyd Hospital. The two sides are; a pilot study of a product management system (PDM) and an interview based study on the characteristics of the silent knowledge of the technicians. The department (National respiratory centre, NRC) is facing retirement of several key employees.The technical study shows that the success of an implementation is largely dependent on the users? prior knowledge and use of a 3D Computer aided design system (CAD).The system itself is shown to fulfill the Lifecycle requirement of tracking the products (mostly tracheostomy tubes) but without a CAD centered workflow, some substantial education and preferably some new recruits, an implementation of the PDM system will fail. The author recommends development of the current ?low-tech? system of MS Excel and Access rather than redistribute the dependency from technician towards a complex, commercial software and its vendor.The analysis of the technicians? silent knowledge with the newly developed method, epithet for silent knowledge (ETK), shows that the longer employment time:the more differentiated technicians become in describing their work,practical knowledge are regarded higher andthe social and collective problem solving factors of the work becomes more important.Typically, it is shown that a new employee should preferably enjoy problem solving, being pragmatic and social as well as having some prior education or work experience in a CAD and/or a PDM system..

In supporting an efficient way to gather and develop contact information for the Uppsala Association of Technology Physicist alumni, it is crucial to have in place an adequate and user-friendly system allowing the continuous collection and storage of such contact information. This can achieved by the creation of a website where alumni can enter information about themselves and where such information in turn is stored in a database. A database containing relevant tables has been developed in MySQL. In utilizing phpMyAdmin, the programming language PHP and Web Server Apache, a fully functional website to be included on the Association's website has been created..

Denna rapport behandlar logistiska problem i samband med verksamhet for forskning och utveckling. Analys och utvärdering har skett på enheten för tillverkning av testprodukter på en av Mölnlyckes centrala utvecklingsenheter, APS. Enheten utvecklar fluffprodukter såsom blöjor och trosskydd.Arbetets syfte var bl a att utvärdera materialflöde och lagerverksamhet för att definiera olika behov av t ex lager, interna transporter och att föreslå ett nytt lagersystem för en ny anläggning dit verksamheten inom ett halvår skall flytta. Verksamheten är i dagsläget uppdelad på två anläggningar.Analysen utgår från en verksamhetsbeskrivning ur vilken en kompletterande problemställningidentifierats. De grundläggande problem som urskiljts visade sig vara;? bristfällig dokumentation av verksamheten vad avser lagerbokföring och transporter.? bristfälliga rutiner vid materialhanteringen.? bristfälliga kommunikationer mellan personalen.Analyser och mätningar har utförts utifrån logistiska modeller och teorier.

The work presented in this report is written at IEIs department on Linköping Institute of Technology. The report aims to increase the assembly efficiency at Wigells AB. The report shall be used as a guide for the implementation of changes at other workstations in the company. Together with Träcentrum in Nässjö, Wigells AB has identified the needs of this study and contacted IEI at Linköping Institute of Technology.In order to implement an efficient assembly line at the company, studies on lean production have been made. This theory has been studied and together with our own views and findings at the company we have analyzed the assembly area.Wigells is a small company that manufactures wood furniture.

Detta kandidatarbete undersöker hur narrativa strukturer inom spel fungerar i kombination med varandra, hur dessa kan användas tillsammans och vad som förändras i en spelproduktion. Syftet är att undersöka trippelnarrativ som metod för användande av flera narrativa strukturer i ett och samma spel och att ta reda på hur det kan tillämpas i en spelproduktion. Vi genomförde en undersökande produktion där vi utvecklade en prototyp av ett spel med en trippelnarrativ struktur för att sedan diskutera och resonera kring användandet i spel.

Arbetet bygger på att de informationssystem som används idag men som blir allt äldre och därigenom inte klarar de krav som ställs på dem. Detta medför att informationssystemen måste migreras till modernare plattformar, då företagen dels inte klarar sig utan dess nuvarande funktionalitet och dels måste vidareutveckla systemen.Detta arbete tar upp olika sätt som detta kan genomföras på och vilka problem som kan komma att uppstå när detta sker. För att kunna undersöka detta så genomfördes ett antal migrationer. Språken som migrationen kommer att ske mellan är Visual Basic 6 och Visual Basic .net. Migrationerna kommer att ske med hjälp av ett migrationsverktyg, samt ett ramverk som i arbetet skräddarsys för just arbetets typ av migrationer.Det arbetet kommer fram till är att det sker problem vid användande av ett verktyg och även att det inte ger tillräckligt med respons på vad som gått snett under migrationerna..

This master's thesis focuses on the development of a strategy for aninformation service in the area of digitization of cultural heritage andresearch, with a web based platform as implementation of the strategy. Viathe platform, digital collections and research are presented and shared.Services around the platform are provided. Support activities comprise thewhole chain of digitization, from digitization to archival of the digitizedobjects. The information service aims for a new approach to combine ICT andestablished research; research and industrial practice were combined andcooperation of participants from various backgrounds was enabled. Thestrategy and organization of such information service was described using a?quality management system?, standard ISO 9001.

This study is a comparative study of the occurrence and function of information literacy in the curricula of the Swedish and Bavarian Gymnasium and investigates the occurrence of the term ?information literacy? and shows through what other linguistic means the notion of information literacy is expressed in the curricula. The study also wishes to analyze how the notion of information literacy manifests itself in the different school systems. Relevant textual passages of both curricula are compared to each other through the theoretic lens of Bruce?s phenomenographic model of information literacy.

Sweden's drinking water quality is considered to be high partly due to a high quality of the raw water and a well developed sewage infrastructure. Despite this, there is water contamination that could be prevented by installation of a sophisticated early warning system. Some of the major players in the production of drinking water have already invested in different types of early warning systems to ensure drinking water of high quality. There are various forms of early warning systems where automatic monitoring of E. Coli is an interesting alternative.

Tyngdpunkten i arbetet var att filma tillverkningen av en ståstaplartruck,för att sedan analysera tillverkningsmetoderna och räkna fram den totala tiden för tillverkningen av en typ av truck. I studien ges förslag på förbättringar av tillverkningsmetoderna. Förslagen berör främst huvuddelarna i produktionen som är mast-, chassi- och gaffelvagnstillverkning. In this project, we are studying the material flow and the information flow of sample materials and the appurtenant report of deviation for the purpose to be able to suggest better solutions. The sample material, which is to be analysed, is to be continuously taken from the production flow. The purpose is to navigate the process by the results found by the analysis. Because of this, it's very important that both methods of analysis are ensured and that the sample material is representative for the production flow.
