Metaphors and their use as a rethorical vehicle are examined. Two texts, one in Chinese and one in Swedish, are compared and analyzed to determine the extent to which the associations they create successfully capture the author's intent. Seecondarily, a shift from the assumptions that rhetorical analyses often assume (read: antiquity and Aristotles) to a more abstract internal human platform is suggested. Neurological and cognitive research is cited in support of this shift.The essay examines the question: How can metaphoric contribute to conveying the communicator's intention? By comparing metaphorics used by an historical Chinese rhetor with those used by a contemporary Swedish rhetor.

In 2011, I and fellow student at Gotland University created a multimedia game. To fit the time constraints a ?vertical slice? was created. This means a small sample of the game is taken which allows the user to understand how the game works, and at the same time, get a visual demonstration of how the game is designed. The goal of the project was to create a narrative for stadium games in which the backstory is told as players interact with their surroundings.

Detta examensarbete syftar till att ta fram en metod för att lösa hur Statkraft Sverige AB ska lagra mjukvarubackuper av sina lokalkontrollssystem. För närvarande finns det ingen homogen lagringsmetod för backuper på företaget och problemet som ska lösas i examensarbetet är hur man kan lagra backuper från ett flertal heterogena system på en gemensam lagringsplattform. I och med att de allra flesta hjälpsystem för konfigurering av styrdatorer (PLC) bygger på Microsoft DOS/Windows så är det relativt enkelt att överföra backuper till en gemensam plattform. För äldre hjälpmedel kan man dock tänka sig att virtualisera hjälpmedlen på en nyare PC-dator med exempelvis VMware för att undvika problem som kan uppstå med äldre hårdvara.

Syfte: Syftet med studien är att undersöka, beskriva och analysera förändring av arbete med CSR i ett stort svenskt globalt klädföretag för åren 2000 till 2010. Vidare ämnar vi undersöka vilka motiv som kan ha kommit att påverka detta.Frågeställningar: - Hur har arbetet med socialt och miljömässigt ansvar förändrats inom H&M mellan år 2000 och 2010?- Hur kan ovanstående förändring och motiven till H&M:s arbete med CSR förklaras utifrån legitimitetsteori, intressentteori samt ur strategi- och lönsamhetsperspektiv?Teori: I denna uppsats används legitimitetsteori, intressentteori samt teori om CSR ur strategi- och lönsamhetsperspektiv för att söka vilka motiv som påverkar H&M:s CSR-arbete.Empiri: Empirin i denna uppsats är hämtad ur H&M:s års- och hållbarhetsredovisningar för åren 2000 till 2010. Den presenteras i form av en empirisk analys med en tematisk indelning utifrån den teoretiska referensramen.Slutsatser: H&M:s CSR-arbete har förändrats under undersökningsperioden och har kommit att bli mer centralt i företagets verksamhet. Den största förändringen har skett sett ur ett strategi- och lönsamhetsperspektiv där CSR har blivit en allt viktigare del.

The purpose of this project is to get a fully functional, automatic steering system and a variable breaking system with an emergency breaking function to an off road vehicle. This off road vehicle is supposed to work as an aid in military situations. A team of two, Sebastian Attervall and Nichlas Gustafsson, got an order from Jonas Nyårds and the PreeRunners Project to construct a steering system that could manoeuvre an off road vehicle without any human involvement. To make this possible the vehicle would be guided by onboard sensors, cameras and computers. The team where also assigned to construct an automatic breaking system, there also no human would be involved.

EW26 is a Bachelor thesis carried out by students, Jessica Blomberg, Sara Danielsson and Mikael Johansson, during the academic year 2010-2011 at the Innovation Engineering Program of Halmstad University. Studien syftar till att belysa finanskrisens reella påverkan på företagens finansiella riskhantering. Läsaren ska också få en ökad förståelse för hur ett mindre antal svenska företag hanterar sin finansiella risk och hur denna hantering måhända har förändrats.I denna studie har det framkommit att företag både i Kalmar, Emmaboda och Borås inte i någon större utsträckning påverkats av den finansiella krisen som rådde mellan 2007-2010. Det som har skett i två av företagen är en ökad intern kontroll och ökad krav vad gäller kontroll av kontroller för att på så vis minimera risk för företagets intressenter. Således har en viss påverkan skett som följd av finanskrisen och arbetet med riskhantering för ett urval av företag i Sverige.Respondenternas inställning till finanskrisens 2007-2010 påverkan har varit att de inte har förändrat sitt dagliga arbete nämnvärt som följd av krisen..

Health care is increasingly complex, which increases the demand for knowledge and expertise. Despite this, the share of specialized nurses, including anaesthesia nurses, has decreased from 65% to 48% from year 1995 to year 2008, according to statistics from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) in 2010. Studies indicate that there may be various factors in the work environment that anaesthesia nurses, choose to leave the anaesthesia profession. The purpose of this study was to examine how anaesthesia nurses experienced the physical and psychosocial work. The study was conducted as a descriptive study with qualitative approach.

The Main problem: How small-sized manufacturing companies can create and sustain a stable position in the industry, which leads to profitability.Purpose: The purpose with this essay is to compare two small-sized manufacturing companies, Datek Industrielektronik AB and AB Micatrone to study which strategical resources each company possesses. At the same time analyse if the strategical resources are to be consider as sustainable competitive advantage.Method: A case study has been implemented in two small-sized manufacturing companies. The collected primary data derives from semi-structured interviews.Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework is based on The Resource-based view where the independent variables are the VRIO-model, resource tree and external resources. The dependable variable is sustainable competitive advantage.Empirical foundation: The empirical foundation is based on the compilation of the few conducted interviews with Datek and Micatrone.Results & Conclusion: Datek and Micatrone show both similarities and differences in what creates their sustainable competitive advantage. The management of both companies creates according to the VRIO-model sustainable competitive advantage.

The motivation to conduct the study was that external project managers have become more common the last decades. At the same time trust is considered to be a key factor for efficiency and good results for the organisation. The group members? trust in the leader is built on past experiences of both the leader at a personal level, and the leaders? relationship to the task. Trust can also be built over time, when the leader earns trust from the group members.

Bakgrund- och problembeskrivning: Sedan introduceringen av IFRS som normgivning för svenska börsbolags koncernredovisning ska inte goodwill, den restpost som kan uppkomma vid företagsförvärv, längre skrivas av. Istället ska goodwill årligen nedskrivningsprövas, något som baseras på av bolagsledningen valda antaganden. Under finanskrisen 2008-2009 genomfördes mindre nedskrivningar än vad många förväntat sig. Möjligtvis kan dessa nedskrivningar inträffat under åren 2010-2011 som en konsekvens av de incitament som finns i och med att nedskriven goodwill aldrig får återföras.Syfte: Att studera huruvida finanskrisen 2008-2009 har fått fördröjda effekter i de svenska börsbolagens räkenskaper i form av nedskrivningar av goodwill under perioden 2010-2011.Avgränsningar: Studien avgränsas till de 141 bolag noterade på NASDAQ OMX Stockholm som har goodwill under år 2010 till 2011 och har kalenderår som räkenskapsår. Studien behandlar inte direkt företagsförvärv och allokering av köpeskillingar utan fokuserar på årliga nedskrivningsprövningar.Metod: Studien har genomförts genom att insamla data från bokslut och noter i årsredovisningar för år 2010 och 2011 från bolagen i urvalet.

Our project is divided into two parts, one production and written report. The main focus was the production part, were we used PHP to create simple solution for handling SMS and MMS with direct communication with the mobile operator server. We communicate with sockets and can handle CIMD2 and MM7 protocol. To get our components easy to use we have created two classes to handle SMS and MMS. To demonstrate our technical platform we created a website were you can create an account.

Background: In today's Swedish health care, it is required that the various professionals must work together in teams to safer care. Several professionals with various skills expected working together in the traumateam at the care of the traumapatient. At the same time, research shows that substandard teamwork leads to avoidable errors in care. One way to improve teamwork is to practice. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to shed light on the experiences of the traumateam exercises that exercise participants feel has been favorable for the patient at the initial care of trauma patients.

In addition to this, the study will provide retailers with an insight into the overall atmospheric effect that the placement of TV screens has on stores.
