Uppföljningsverktyg för analys av användarloggar
In order to understand user behaviour and navigation patterns, user logging is today widely used in analysis and development of user interfaces. These user logs tend to be quite many and can contain a lot of different data. A big issue is how to process and display this data in a perspicuous way to the stakeholder. This study is about how to develop a prototype to handle this issue. It was solved by various methods from human-computer interaction.

Denna rapport jämför prestandan mellan state-of-the-art AI-botar i racing
spelet TORCS och en AI-bot
som kör med hjälp av ett artificiellt neuralt nätverk (ANN-bot). ANN-boten, som
implementerades som
en del av arbetet, använder en feedforward arkitektur och backpropagation för
inlärning. Ett separat
program som användes för att träna det neurala nätverket med träningdata som
spelats in från TORCS
implementerades också. Som state-of-the-art AI-botar användes AI-botar som har
använts i en tävling.
De fyra AI-botarna testades på åtta olika banor och data om hur lång tid varje
varv tog och hur snabbt
AI-botarna körde sparades och sammanställdes. Resultaten visar att på banorna
som ANN-boten klarar
av att köra runt så är ANN-boten snabbare än en den långsamaste
state-of-the-art boten, men ANNboten
klara inte av majoriteten av banorna som den testades på.
Attityd och användning till cannabis bland studenter på Linnéuniversitetet : En kvantitativ undersökning
The aim of this study was to explore the students? use of and attitudes towards cannabis at Linnaeus University. Social psychology and gender perspective was used as theories to explain the use and attitudes among the students? and how the use and attitudes could change through social influence. The study operates from a quantitative approach and is based on an online survey which includes answers from 126 respondents.
Är handdatorer säkra nog för hälso- och sjukvården?
The aim of this report is to discuss computer security in handheld computers and to find out the appropriate security level that must be implemented to be able to use handheld computers within the Swedish healthcare system. Most healthcare centers are using some kind of electronic journals for their patient´s data today, but there are still a number of clinics that are usingthe old paper-system. On a few places in Sweden the use of handheld computers at the clinics has already started, but in the United States the use of handheld computers in the medical area is already widespread and from this we can see a lot of different situations where it is useful and effective to work with handheld computers. The security demands on patient´s journals are high and regulated in both Swedish law and regulations from the National Swedish Board of Health and Welfare. The law does not have any substantial demands, but states that there should be an adequate security level based on the nature of the information and the costs.
Digital delaktighet : folkbibliotekens undervisande roll i kampanjen Digidel
In this thesis the pragmatic pedagogy as formulatad by John Dewey is applied to theswedish national campaign Digidel and its work to spread the digital participation among thegeneral public. The purpose of the thesis is to visualize and problematize that differentunderstandings of a problem, lead to different solutions, as lifted in John Dewey´s pedagogy, thatconstitutes the thesis' theoretical framework. The term digital participation is used by the Digidelcampaign, where public libraries take active part to spread digital participation througheducational efforts. By qualitative interviews with four librarians this thesis examines howunderstandings of the term may vary and in turn lead to differenent educational goals, designsand executions. The result shows that basic computer- and Internetskills are seen as either equelto or prerequisites for digital participation and that the digital participant is seen as either apassive recipient or an active participant.
Modularitet och objektorientering : Byggandet av ett program som kan visa en molekyl
The development of IT systems is usually accomplished by some form of system development methodology. It can be performed as the waterfall method, where each phase is completed before the next begins. One of the reasons to follow a development methodology is that the process is more structured, faster and that the product will have higher quality. One risk of not using a system development approach is that the code can be unstructured and difficult to maintain.This paper describes an alternative method in which the development occurred without the use of any system development methodology. This has been possible because there was a clear goal of the program that should be developed.
Analytisk dimensionering av räddningstjänsten i Skåne Nordväst
This report is a part of the process of enhanced cooperation between fire rescue services in the region of North West Scania. The aim of the report is to study and analyze how the fire rescue service should be structured, in terms of rescue units and personnel, if no account is to be taking to the current organization. Two types of accident are considered in the report, traffic accidents and building fires. These are more affected by decreased response time than other accidents. Several suggested organizations are presented and they are evaluated with the computer program REP.

One important issue faced by companies is to secure their information and resources from intrusions. For accessing a resource almost every system uses the approach of assigning a unique username and a password to all legitimate users. This approach has a major drawback. If an intruder gets the above information then he can become a big threat for the company and its resources. To strengthen the computer security there are several biometric methods for identity verification which are based on the human body?s unique characteristics and behavior including fingerprints, face recognition, retina scan and signatures.
Aspekter på folkbibliotekens Internetsatsningar verksamheter, intentioner, regleringar
The aim of this thesis is to study different aspects of the public libraries' investment in public access computers connected to the Internet. What level of accessibility can be found at the surveyed libraries concerning the number of computers open to the public, as well as chat and email services? What activities have been taking place with the computers in focus, and what have the goals of these activities been? Is there any control of content, and what aspects of the Internet are, if that is the case, subject to censorship. And how do the governmental policies relate to the surveyed libraries' intentions and activities regarding the Internet? In order to answer these questions, each main library in the 42 largest towns of Sweden was surveyed response rate: 100 %.

The main purpose of IT security policies is to protect companies against
intrusion and unwanted spread of information. Statistics show that IT related
crimes tend to increase and because of that it is important, from the company?s
side of view, to be well prepared. The IT security policy is an important part
of that preparation.
A lot of the crimes related to IT can be deduced indirectly to employees at the
companies where the crime takes place.
Personlighet, datorerfarenhet och upplevelseav datorfrustration
I och med informationsteknologins snabba framväxt i samhället ställs vi också inför problem som hur vi ska handskas med denna utveckling. Forskning visar att fenomenet datorrädsla kan bero på faktorer som exempelvis erfarenhet, personlighet, attityd eller kön. Syftet med denna studie är dock att undersöka eventuella samband mellan datorrädsla, personlighet samt datorerfarenhet. Nittio studenter vid Högskolan Dalarna agerade undersökningsdeltagare (UD) genom att svara på en enkät bestående av tre delar; bakgrundsfrågor, ett personlighetstest sammansatt av Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI) samt åtta scenarier, där UD fick skatta sin självupplevda stressnivå i olika situationer. Studien visar att såväl neuroticism som datorerfarenhet skulle kunna predicera datorrädsla.
Interaktionsloggning i Scania Interactor
Scania provides a fleet management system for hauliers who want to control their fleets in anefficient way. The system includes an onboard computer with touch screen called ScaniaInteractor where the driver can access GPS navigation, order support, message service and otherfunctionalities. The purpose of this thesis is to develop a concept for logging the user interactionon the Interactor and analyze the result which enables further development and optimization ofthe interface.A demonstration application is designed, implemented and tested for the purpose of showing thepossibilities and difficulties with logging of interaction. The result shows that logging is quiteeasy to implement and that the amount of produced data is small and therefore not expensive totransfer via GPRS to a central server where searching and analysis can be done. On the otherhand, the biggest challenge lies in the analysis and interpretation of the logged data and to applyit to the development of the interface.
GPU accelerated SPH simulation of fluids for VFX
Fluids are important to the Visual Effects Industry but extremely hard to control and simulate because of the complexity of the governing equations. Fluid solvers can be divided into two categories, those of the Eulerian point of reference and those of the Lagrangian. Both categories have different advantages and weaknesses and hybrid methods are popular. This thesis examines Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics, a Lagrangian method for physically based uid simulations. To allow the artist the exibility given by shorter simulation times and increased number of iterations, the performance of the solver is key.
Prototyping i systemdesign
Denna uppsats avser att belysa frågan varför prototyper är ett viktigt verktyg
i en utvecklingsprocess av ett mobilt system. Fördelar och nackdelar som
verktyget kan innebära behandlas och olika tillvägagångssätt beskrivs.
Arbetet med detta baseras i ett praktiskt utvecklingsprojekt på
IT-kunsultföretaget Citerus. Projektuppgiften var där att genom en
informationflödesanalys definiera olika flaskhalsar i informationsflödet på
olika hotell för att sedan föreslå ett effektiviserande system. Projektet
koncentrerades vidare på städpersonalen och deras arbete. Utifrån fortsatta
studier föreslogs ett mobilt system som ger städpersonalen information för att
lättare och effektivare göra sitt jobb.
I flera olika forskningsdiscipliner som berör design och systemutveckling
förespråkas ett utvecklingssätt med hjälp av prototyper.
Double integrating spheres: A method for assessment of optical properties of biological tissues
The determination of the optical properties of biological tissue is an important issue in laser medicine. The optical properties define the tissue´s absorption and scattering behaviour, and can be expressed by quantities such as the albedo, the optical thickness and the anisotropy coefficient. During this project, a measurement system for the determination of the optical properties was built up. The system consists of a double integrating sphere set-up to perform the necessary reflection and transmission measurements, and a computer algorithm to calculate the optical properties from the measured data. This algorithm is called Inverse Adding Doubling method, and is based on a one-dimensional transport model.
