AbstractIn the fall of 2003 a project was started in the Swedish building sector that is called BASTA (the building sectors’ termination of especially harmful substances). The project is operated by the building companies NCC, Skanska, PEAB and JM, the Swedish Building Industry and the Swedish Environmental Institute IVL. The purpose of the project is to create a common environmental assessment system for the entire building industry and with the help of this system phase out the use of especially harmful properties from building products.In a large sense BASTA works like this; On the BASTA web site there is a database, to which a supplier can register the company and the company’s products. Only those products with a substance content that fulfil the demands of the BASTA system, is to be registered. As it is the supplier himself that carries out the registration of the company and the company’s products to the system, the BASTA-organisation annually controls that the companies that are registered in the database, fulfils BASTA’s demands.Since NCC is one of the companies that operates BASTA, BASTA is probably going to be the environmental assessment system that is recommended for the company in the future.

The thesis presented in this report has been made on behalf of Scania and their basic frame design department with the subject to solve an implementation of a weight sensing system in the chassis. The system is supposed to be implemented in the seat springs, and the reason for this is that all the force will have to go through the weight sensing transducers. With all the force going through the transducers the weight sensing system will not be sensitive for the differences in tolerances from manufacturing. The transducers could be pre-calibrated to avoid a calibration of the whole vehicle after it?s completed from the manufacturing line.Weight sensing systems is today a reality in trucks with air springs.

The answers are found by studying biographic data over members of parliament between 1971 and 2006. In 1971 a new riksdag, enkammarriksdagen which consists of one ?House?, was founded.

Svenskt Rockarkiv is an organization located in Hultsfred, Sweden. Its goal is to collect and document the history of Swedish rock music. The archive contains several types of documentation, such as audio recordings, photographs, posters, video recordings and books representing Swedish rock music history. In order to store information about the audio recordings in the archive, Svenskt Rockarkiv uses a SQL Server 2000 database and a client application written in Microsoft.NET C# and Windows Forms. The purpose of this degree project is to audit the database and windows client, since the organization has needs of new functionality.

Mätning av axiella magnetiska läckflöden i vattenkraftsgeneratorer

This thesis describes a method of measuring axial magnetic leakage flux in an operational hydropower generator. Axial magnetic leakage flux is the magnetic flux at the ends of a rotating generator, which goes through the stator parallel to the rotor axis. This flux can cause circulating currents in the stator iron, giving rise to losses, and can in the worst case overheat a generator, causing it to melt down. To measure the axial flux, and how it affects the generator temperature, a measurement system was constructed on behalf of Vattenfall. The system consists of search coil sensors and a signal-processing unit with amplifiers and active filtering.  To confirm the behaviour of the axial leakage flux and the functionality of the measurement system, a test installation was made.

Crossbreeding in dairy cattle

The aim of this literature review is to give an overview of the differences between pure- and crossbreeding systems. Crossbreeding is a mating system with individuals of different lines or breeds. It is one of several breeding strategies in dairy production used to increase the economic profit. The use of crossbreeding increases due to changes in the dairy market and an increase of inbreeding among purebred Holstein. The main benefit of crossbreeding is heterosis, which is the improvement in genetic level in a hybrid offspring above the average of the parent breeds.

Uppsatsen undersöker hur gymnasielärare tolkar innehållet i undervisning för hållbar utveckling i historieämnet. Fyra gymnasielärare i historia intervjuades. Som analysmetod användes ett intentionellt perspektiv. Resultatet visar att lärarna tolkade innehållet i sin undervisning som tre teman: helheter, agerande och ansvar. Dessa tre teman har likheter och överlappar varandra.

Application Lifecycle Management: : En studie av två Application Lifecycle Management system och deras stöd för systemutveckling i projektform

Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is a genre of computerized systems which allows system development corporations to efficiently and more easily manage, maintain and handle the applications lifecycle. These ALM systems have a wide variety of tools which can be integrated to enable and support collaborative work, while they act at the core of the organisation. Todays ALM systems support flexible system development methods throughout the entire development process. This paper focuses on a case-study of a Swedish business- and technology corporation and their use of two ALM systems with an aim to unravel the differences between these systems and their functionality to serve as a basis for decision making regarding their utilization of best practice with their ALM-Systems. Meanwhile we studied their approach to ALM systems to see if they were using them according to the initial idea of ALM systems.

System- och framtidsperspektiv på designprocessen och designerns roll

Syftet med det här projektet är att redovisa ett system- och framtidsperspektiv på designprocessen och industridesignerns roll, vilket också ska resultera i en tydligare definiering och kartläggning av designprocessen samt angränsande ämnesområden.Omfattande faktainsamling gjordes därmed i form av litteraturstudier, studiebesök samt informationsökning på internet. Detta skapade sedan en god grund för kommande intervjuer. Intervjuerna genomfördes med representanter från både lärosäten och SVID samt med verksamma designers, detta i syfte att få fram olika perspektiv och synsätt på de specificerade områdena.Baserat på informationen från faktainsamlingsfasen samt intervjuerna, gjordes en kartläggning av designprocessen med en tydligare koppling till makro- och mikromiljön samt Design Management. För att tydliggöra ytterligare sammanställdes också frågeställningar som härrör till arbetsgången.Gällande Industridesignerrollen valde jag att (baserat på intervjuresultatet) visualisera en bild av tänkbara framtida fokusområden och kompetenser.Jag kan konstatera att designprocessen utvecklats till att innefatta mycket mer än ?design av produkter?.

SammanfattningGenom att implementera kontinuerligt förbättringsarbete skapas möjligheter för utveckling av företaget. Det är viktigt att följa den globalt fluktuerande efterfrågan för att kunna bemöta kundens krav och differentiera sig ifrån dess konkurrenter. Dock är en implementering av förbättringsprogram komplext och sätter höga krav på organisationen. Detta tvingar ansvariga till att ha förståelse, kunskap och drivkraft för konceptet. Denna studie baseras på hur Posten AB i Sverige ställer sig till förbättringsarbete. Idag använder sig företaget utav stödsystem C2 för att underlätta och skapa systematik i deras förbättringsarbete.

Gulliver Simulation - En systemarkitektur f or n atverkssimulering av

Nowadays, a lot of resources are spent on developing systems that will make it possible forvehicles to act autonomously, and make them more effective. One of the projects that isworking on this is the Gulliver Project. Gulliver has constructed a number of miniaturevehicles equipped with various sensors, to use as a physical testbed for autonomousdriving. One big disadvantage with this method is the long iteration time that occursduring the development and testing of a new software.This project has improved this process by developing a system architecture of a virtualtestbed where it is possible to simulate autonomus vehicles that communicates throughany type of wireless network. The testbed has made it possible to simulate autonomusvehicle systems that with a reasonable margin of error, acts like the system would actin a physical test.

Miljöklassificering av vägar : Praktisk tillämpning av miljöklassificeringssystemet Greenroads i produktionen

This report gives an overview of applications of the Greenroads rating system whichin turn is an environmental review system for roads. The focus of this report isapplications during the construction phase, ie on solutions which adhere to theentrepreneur's area of responsibility as opposed to the designer's. The study was undertaken in cooperation with Skanska (a global contractor andFortune 500 company) which provided a project suitable for an exemplatory study ofGreenroads. Please note that the project in particular was not specifically designedwith Greenroads in mind. Therefore and because of that the site provided anexcellent opportunity to study effects of application contra non-application. The approach of this study was to first review the system, thereafter to performinterviews with key personel at the site in different roles as to receive different viewsof selected points of application. Selected possibilities of application are cathegorizedand presented with comments and suggestions for adoption. Lastly Greenroads is briefly compared to the rating system which today is the mostwidely used by Skanska, LEED.

Hållbar utveckling : Norra Djurgårdstaden som modell för hållbar utveckling

Idag byggs det i städer allt oftare med hållbarhet i åtanke. Allteftersom forskare hittar nya sätt att mäta konsekvensen av vår slösaktiga livsstil blir risken med klimatförändringar ett faktum. Därför har Sveriges regering nyligen investerat stora summor pengar för att bedriva det största hållbarhetsprojektet i landets historia, Norra Djurgårdsstadsprojektet. I projektet har man satt som mål att sänka emissioner och energianvändning genom att bygga system för källsortering, energisparande, utrymmen anpassade för cykelpendlare och lätt tillgänglig kollektivtrafik. Men då begreppet hållbarhet är relativt nytt genomgår den en ständig bearbetning och utveckling.
