Denna uppsats ger sig på att analysera förekomsten och representationen av maskulinitet och manlighet i den tecknade serien Tintin. På vilket vis kan Tintinalbumen påverka de unga läsarna när de under uppväxten skapar sig en bild av vad maskulinitet och manlighet innebär? Hur representeras norm och praktik, och vad framställs som gott och vad är ont?.

This essay examines the poetry of the Swedish writer Ivar Conradson (1885-1968). Itanalyzes his work in the context of the European literary scene of the late 19th century, inparticular Symbolism and impressionism. Conradson has been considered a symbolist and amysticist by critics and scholars, who claim that his poetry expresses a strong religious ethos,influenced by biblical rhetoric as regards style.While this study does not refute the common view of Conradson, it argues that his earlyworks differ from his later works, where indeed religious and mystical themes can be found.This difference can thus be seen both on stylistic and thematic levels. Using the structuralistmethod of Roman Jakobson and Jurij Lotman, and a phenomenological analysis based on thephilosophy of Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Hannah Arendt, this study examines bothsymbolist and impressionist stylistic devices and themes in Conradson?s literary debutSkyarne (1906).

Trots detta finns det ingen klarhet i hur riktlinjerna bör användas eller hur ett varumärkesnamnförslag faktiskt genereras.Problemformulering: Hur genereras ett meningsfullt och minnesvärt varumärkesnamn?Syfte: Att öka förståelsen för hur ett meningsfullt och minnesvärt varumärkesnamn kan genereras, genom att en namngenereringsmodell presenteras och utvärderas.Avgränsning: Rapporten avgränsas från teori som handlar om att sammankoppla flera varumärken som exempelvis teorier kring varumärkesutvidgning och varumärkesportfölj behandlar.  Metod: En deduktivforskningsdesign grundad på teorier kopplat till namngivning, vilka hämtades från både marknadsföringslitteratur och språkvetenskapslitteratur, och sedan samanställdes i en egen skapad modell.

Chapter 6 of the Ch?ndogya Upani?ad has often been treated in works on early Indian philosophy, as well as in some comparative studies on color Symbolism. Attempts to place it in a larger framework against the background of late Vedic religion are, however, few, the rationalistic and ?tradition-challenging? appearance of the text having repeatedly been emphasized. But the doctrine contained in the text ? a cosmologic teaching on the three elements constituting the universe, each being characterized by a color (red, white, black) ? and their microcosmic counterparts in the human body, does have some clear affinities to the worldview of the Br?hma?as and ?ra?yakas, which posits a series of similar correlations (bandhu-) between macro- and microcosmos.

The purpose of this science of Art History research paper is to find out the meaning of Cats in Art. I have limited my studies to the Nationalmuseums picture gallery and found forty paintings with cats. I have chosen sixteen of these to furthur analyze typographically and chronologically from a symbolic perspective. The forty paintings from the Nationalmuseum were created during four centuries, with the first being painted in the Sixteenth Century. I have studied the cats dimensional placement in the picture, if the cat is in an outdoor or indoor environment, with people and if the cat is active or passive.

This is the result of a 10 week long study about if player behaviors and choices are affectedby the surrounding colors in their environment. A number of players are asked to movethrough a virtual environment, while being clocked, where they have to make left and rightdecisions based on different colors (red, green, blue and gray). While most choices consist oftwo different colors, some use the same color. The result shows that the players most likelyprefer one color over another, and that they most likely prefer a non-neutral color over aneutral color. With these results and the interviews that are conducted the conclusion is madethat it is very likely the players choices are affected by the colors in the environment, but it isnot clear to say how they are affected..

Uppsatsen behandlar målaren Olof Sager-Nelsons relation till den belgiska Symbolismen. Med utgångspunkt i ett antal analyser, av verk skapade i Belgien somrarna 1894 och 1895, diskuteras kopplingar mellan Olof Sager-Nelson och de främsta belgiska konstnärerna och författarna inom den symbolistiska rörelsen. Slutsatsen är att Sager-Nelson var mycket starkt påverkad av Georges Rodenbach, och dennes roman Bruges-la-Morte, men att han i övrigt inte i någon större utsträckning var influerad av belgiska symbolister..

Partly due to its consequences on the physical and mental health but also because of women?s constant fear of being violated, rape is considered to be a public health issue. The theoretical aspects of rape were first discussed in the 1970?s mainly from the viewpoints of Susan Brownmiller and Michel Foucault. The aim of this literature study is to investigate the different perspectives on whether rape should be viewed as sex or violence, how the controversy has developed and what the authors claim that the different perspectives result in.

During this project a photographer and an illustrator have explored if a single image can communicate a bigger whole, in this case a movie. By analysing five motion pictures with visual communication theories, semiotics and colour Symbolism as tools, ten images was created. These images do not only consist of symbols, but also communicate the overall feeling and colour scheme of the movie.These images have been tested in interviews with six individuals, who, except for one, work with visual communication of some kind. They have studied the communication skills of the images from their own experiences.The result of the interviews showed that all images could not communicate a movie. One reason for this was that only a few of the test persons had seen two of the selected movies.

Vid utgrävningar utförda av brittiska arkeologer 1922 i staden Ur i Mesopotamienpåträffades i en grav ett sigill: U.9750. Hantverket är i mörkgrön steatit och är 0,036m X 0,024 m stort. Idag dateras det till den gammalakkadiska perioden ca 2250 f. Kr.Sigillet förvaras i Nationalmuseet i Irak och anses som ett av de mer betydelsefullaföremålen från perioden. Museet blev plundrat efter invasionen av Irak 2003.

The purpose of this paper is to examine and to analyze the arguments about a possible Swedish law against the veil. I have therefore highlighted how notions about the veil creates and reproduces power-structures and meaning-systems. I structured the arguments in a pro et contra schedule and then analyzed them by using a theoretical framework consisting post-colonial feminism, orientalism, multi-culture and intersectionality together with research produced by Joan Wallach Scott (2010), Pia Karlsson Minganti (2007) and Anne Sofie Roald (2003). The results of the study shows that the people who either argue for or against a veil-law agree that the veil is an oppression of women and that it must be resisted. To be objective in the discussion of the veil seems to be impossible and the women it affects deprived voice.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka och jämföra Djävulens funktion i dagens mest lättillgängliga och populära mediagenrer. I studien redogörs hur bilden av Djävulen uppstått med nedslag i Gamla testamentet fram till upplysningen. Mot denna bakgrund tolkas och analyseras hur och om denna gestalt återfinns i dagens mediasamhälle, med inriktning på filmerna Terror på Elm Street och 2012, tv-serien Lost och romanen Frankenstein av Mary Shelley. Huvudresultatet visar på att en kamp mellan det goda och det onda troligtvis all­tid kommer att förekomma och medan djävulsgestalten i och med upplysningen tappar infly­tande i kristendomen återfinns denne i diverse film, böcker och serier..

Andrej Belyjs bok Petersburg är en av de viktigaste romanerna från den symbolistiska perioden i rysk litteratur. I denna uppsats utreds hur gränser behandlas i romanen. Även om romanen till en början tycks dra upp klara gränser, till exempel mellan öst och väst, så löses dessa upp och en osäkerhet skapas hos läsaren. Gränserna som undersöks i uppsatsen omfattar såväl gränser i själva berättandet (till exempel mellan berättare och karaktärer och mellan nutid och dåtid) som gränser i berättelsen; det senare indelat i rumsliga gränser och gränser för det levande.
