Vi har funderat över hur vi som blivande lärare skulle kunna förbättra elevernas förståelse inom algebra. Syftet med detta arbete var att ta reda på vad Symbolen har för betydelse vid algebraräkning och huruvida det kan vara givande att introducera pre-algebra i större utsträckning i tidigare årskurs. Med Symbol menar vi det tecken som representerar den okända variabeln i algebra. För att undersöka detta har en observationsstudie genomförts i årskurs fem och två tester i årskurs två och sju. Sammanlagt deltog 178 elever.

The contemporary angel-Symbol is deeply rooted in our cultural history, with connotations and implications leading to that inner transitional space where all creative activity takes place. This essay investigates the history of the depiction of angels, visions of angels both ancient and modern, and includes psychological aspects of Symbols as such. A closer look at surrounding Symbols of angels will hopefully result in a greater understanding of the role of the angel-Symbol within the context of visual culture, seen in the light of our own Symbolic universe..

This essay comprises a study of the bridal crowns of Tjust, with respect to their national history, concept and aspect of mythological Symbol. The tradition of bearing the parochial bridal crown is closely associated with religious medieval politics, and has also come to include elements of superstition and folklore. Attention is paid to these aspects dealing with the position of the bridal crown within current forms of tradition and culture and the impact on brides of this day and age. As the tradition of Church-owned bridal crowns is intrinsic to this country, and especially in the area of which Tjust is a part, possible solutions to the continued tradition are investigated..

The county council of Värmland is taking part in a larger project which in general consists of surveying malign melanoma within different families. Counties in Sweden are following-up on patients suffering from malign melanoma, which is likely to have inheritable causes. When a suspected heritable malign melanoma is found an investigation is started. A pedigree is drawn, describing the propositus? family.Every individual in the pedigree is represented by a Symbol.

This study examines the closure of public libraries, and the nonprofit organizations takeover of them as a phenomenon. The aim is to understand why the nonprofit takeover is common and what the takeover Symbolizes and if the discourse in media invokes the views on libraries and the profession.Interviews were made with librarians, politicians and representatives of a nonprofit organization to study different sides of the phenomenon. Other empirical data were found in local and national newspapers and media-channels. I discovered that public libraries are highly valued by both politicians and the community. The study also showed that a library in a community makes people feel valued.

When the Iron spirals investigated in this paper saw the light again no one looked at them as nothing more than decoration. It was first during the 2011 excavation in Old Uppsala that the Symbolism of the items no longer could be ignored. The spirals of Old Uppsala lay along the walls of the great hall, which stood upon one of the human constructed plateaus in the area. The hall had been burned down and then cleared of all lumber. Then the iron spirals had been placed in the positions and then everything was sealed with a layer of clay.A study of the artifact began with the purpose to contextualize and interpret the iron spiral.

Under de senaste åren har den mobila tekniken i stort sett helt gått över till smartphones. Smartphones är i princip mer datorer än telefoner, som vi alltid bär med oss och som innehåller allt mer känslig information. Detta medför att kraven på säkerheten kring enheten ökar. Detta arbete undersöker om det är möjligt att finna en ny metod att låta användaren autentisera sig på, som är säkrare än de som är vedertagna idag, men samtidigt har liknande nivå av användbarhet. Vår idé, som vi arbetar med under namnet Colour a Symbol, baseras på att kombinera Symboler och färger i par.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera hur Symboler och allegorier kommer till uttryck i Astrid Lindgrens två texter Bröderna Lejonhjärta (1973) och Spelar min lind, sjunger min näktergal (1959) samt att diskutera hur textanalys, där Symbol och allegori är utgångspunkter, kan användas i litteraturundervisningen i skolan. Hur kommer Symboler och allegorier till uttryck i dessa texter? Och hur kan elever komma djupare i sin textförståelse med hjälp av Symboler och allegorier? Detta är två frågor som undersöks och diskuteras i studien. Analysen av böckerna visar att båda dessa texter innehåller flera religiösa Symboler där det goda ställs mot det onda. Gemensamt för de båda berättelserna är att de handlar om döden och att de innehåller existentiella aspekter.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine the relationship between feelings and visualizations of climate change. A case study was done on visualizations of climate change from a web page concerning climate change published by the Swedish newspaper Expressen and from the American photographer Gary Braasch?s web page ?World view of global warming?. The thesis is based on the article ?Emotional anchoring and objectification in the media reporting on climate change? by Birgitta Höijer.

This thesis analyses the decoration on the pots of the Pitted Ware Culture on Gotland. The pottery from this period is richly decorated with various ornaments, the most common are the pits but other types of decoration occur. The purpose of this study is to get an insight into what the patterns meant to the people that made and used them and what role these may have played in their lives. The author will analyse the decoration on potsherds found from the three Pitted Ware sites of Visby, Ajvide and Hemmor on Gotland. This will be used in a comparative analysis to investigate if differences and/or similarities of the pattern occur between and among the sites.

Syfte: Vi människor möts dagligen av hundratals olika logotyper och skapar oss en uppfattning kring dessa. Tidigare forskning har visat att konsumenters förväntningar på företaget ökar efter hur stora affärer det handlar om. Tidigare forskningen har inriktat sig på hur konsumenter uppfattar logotyper i flertalet olika studier, utifrån t.ex. estetisk utformning, identifiering och om konsumenten känner lojalitet till företaget.? Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera hur konsumenters uppfattning om företaget påverkas av en logotyp, på en marknad där dessa exponeras flitigt och en affär har stora ekonomiska konsekvenser. Metod: Studien har genomförts med experimentella studier, med en kontrollgrupp och två experimentgrupper.
