Umea? kommun har sedan 1995, med varierande intensitet, planerat fo?r en ny simhall som ska ersa?tta den gamla fra?n 1970. Det nu liggande fo?rslaget har mo?tts med skiftande a?sikter och de ma?nga kritiska handlar om ba?de fo?rslagets placering (mitt i centrala staden pa? en all- deles fo?r tra?ng tomt) och programmets omfattning (fo?r lite). Eftersom jag delar dessa kritiska a?sikter sa? har detta gett mig ett ypperligt tillfa?lle att som mitt examensarbete titta pa? hur jag anser att placeringen, omfattningen och gestaltningen av ett nytt badhus i Umea? ska se ut.Mina huvudsakliga fra?gesta?llningar har varit just placeringen, programmets omfattning samt naturligtvis a?ven gestaltningen av ett badhus fo?r Umea? kommun med sina 110 000 inva?nare.

The upstream spawning migration of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) at the confluence area between the power-station outlet and the bypass-channel in river Umeälven (flow 430 m3s-1) was compared in 2004 and 2005, two years with different experimental flow-regimes. In 2004 the water flow in the bypass-channel was altered during the day with increased flows during the nights while the water flow in 2005 mainly was altered between the weekdays and weekends. Salmon showed altered migratory behaviour in this confluence area, assessed with telemetry (n=116) and echo-sounding, with up- or downstream responses depending on flow-changes in both the bypass and the power station outlet. Increased turbine flow through the power-station generally attracted salmon into the tunnel outlet area while increased spill-flows facilitated salmon to enter the bypass. Echo-sounding in the confluence area showed an increased Swimming activity up- and downstream due to time in the day and flow-rates through the tunnel outlet. No changes in activity could be detected due to increasing or decreasing flow through the hydro-power facility.

Bath has been a part of human history for a long time. Today bathing/Swimming inmunicipal pools is for people of all ages and it is possible to take Swimming courses,exercise or enjoy recreation. The municipal indoor pool of Hogdalen in Sweden wasbuild in the sixties and has had problems with high levels of heterotrophic bacteria. Thefacility has two larger pools, one adventure park for young kids, two smaller bath tubsand a jacuzzi. To improve water quality UV light and coal filter were installed inOctober 2009 to the already existing purification system.

In the spring of 2009 Silva Sweden AB was contacted for a collaboration within the scope of a MasterThesis project. The company had discussed the possibility to develop a device that monitors usermovement during different types of exercise. The objective of this Master Thesis has therefore been todevelop and design a multi training device that records the user?s physical performance during severalactivities. The purpose of the thesis project has been to use scientific methods for product development inorder to design a multi device that supplements Silva?s range of products.The project followed a product development process divided into four phases; Market Analysis, ConceptCreation, Concept Development and Construction.

In today?s modern society with high-speed connections covering the globe people are more than ever finding themselves gazing into the cold lights of the computer screen. On the other side a strange and exciting world yet to be explored awaits. Many are those who spend hour after hour running over green hills Swimming in vast blue oceans in the lands of Azeroth, the playfield in the MMORPG game World of Warcraft. In media we often read and hear alarming reports on players stuck in this virtual world, ceasing to play a part in the real world.

To take part in a summer hockey camp during the summer vacation is something that is very popular. This study is carried out through parents of ice-hockey active children in the south of Sweden. The main purpose of this study is to investigate for which reasons parents might let their children participate in a summer hockey camp. It is also studied which parts of the contents in a camp that is considered important by the parents and how much they are willing to pay for a week. To answer this, were an inquiry send out to 86 respondents.

Stockholm Stad behöver utöka kapaciteten på sina badhus samt idrottsanläggningar. Därtill är renoveringsbehovet stort på samtliga badhus. Badet i Västertorp täcker ett stort område och är populärt men behöver nu rivas pga. det dåliga skicket. Istället ska man bygga bostäder på platsen och flytta ner det nya badet till Mellanbergsparkens södra spets för att samtidigt bli en bullerbarriär mellan motorvägen (E4/E20) och parken som man vill börja programmera.

Bakgrund: De flesta inomhusbadanläggningar är idag 30-60 år gamla och många anläggningar har stora problem med skador på både byggnader och bassänger. Skadorna är ofta så pass allvarliga att det inte längre är lönsamt att renovera utan på många platser planerar man att bygga nya bad. För att undvika framtida problem är det viktigt att dra lärdom av vilka skador och problem som har inträffat samt hur man vid nybyggnation och renovering ska kunna undvika dem. Vid byggande av dagens inomhusbadanläggningar tillämpas främst tidigare branscherfarenheter. Det faktum att så stora brister och omfattande problem förekommer, tyder på att kunskapen är otillräcklig.

Every year new premises are built in Sweden, and even if they are made as energy efficient as possible, this will not reduce the energy demands, but the rate of the increase of the energy use will be reduced. One type of facility in Sweden that is a major energy user is public baths, and this makes public baths an interesting facility to study more closely. There are around 500 public baths in Sweden and about 75 % of those can be seen as older baths with large need of renovation, and they all require a high level of energy efficiency measures. To show how the energy demand increase or decrease depending on the changes chosen to be made, the simulation application IDA Indoor Climate and Energy was used. Simulations were made and compared for several cases, with two extreme cases as starting points.

The aim of this piece of work is to highlight and investigate young female?s motivation in participation of P.E classes and the degree to which the content of classes affect their motivation. To support this piece of work two theories have been utilized, the Self-determination Theory and a gender related perspective theory. The research consists of six qualitative interviews of young females who are perceived to be less motivated. These interviews focus on their views and attitudes in relation to P.E within the Swedish high school setting.

Kronoparken is a multicultural area with more than 100 different nationalities. Since we know that girls with a foreign background participate less in sport than girls with Swedish background do, we think it would be interesting to examine what kind of thoughts and experiences young girls on Kronoparken has about sport.  The purpose of this study is to examine what the girls think about the activities that are offered today. We also want to examine their thoughts about sport and gender issues.Since the aim is to identify the girl?s experiences around current activities and find out what ideas they have to improve this, we think a qualitative method is best suited. We have chosen to do interviews with two focus groups.

The purposeof this survey is to study both teachers and students view regarding theevaluation and grading in the subject Physical Education A. In order to meetthe purpose, the survey is executed by focusing on three main researchquestions: What is the teachers and students notion of the goals of the subjectand the course plan? Which knowledge is evaluated in the subject, according toteachers and students? Which factors, believe teachers and students, affect theevaluation? The results of the survey is established by qualitative interviewsthat has been conducted with four teachers and five students in two schoolslocated in a medium ? sized city in the south east of Sweden.The resultsof the survey indicate that not only teachers, but also students consider thecourse plan and the grading criterias is relatively unclear and interpretablein a lot of different ways. Teachers and students also states the theoreticaland practical moments are equally important when evaluating. Further, theystate that knowledge in ergonomics, exercises theory, diets, Swimming andleadership skills are important knowledge in the subject.

Bakgrund: I samband med den nya läroplanen Lgr 11 ingår kursmålet simning under rörelsei det centrala innehållet. Simningen har där fått en ännu mer framskjutande roll då elever redani årskurs 1-3 skall få undervisning i lekar och rörelse i vatten och få träning i att balansera,flyta och simma i mag- och ryggläge. Elever i årskurs 6 ska kunna simma 200m varav50m i ryggläge för att nå det lägsta kunskapsmålet E i ämnet Idrott och Hälsa.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka idrottslärares upplevelser av simundervisning iårskurs 4-6 och vad idrottslärare upplever som viktiga faktorer för att kunna genomföraundervisningen.Metod: Fyra stycken intervjuer med lärare som har behörighet i Idrott och Hälsa har genomförts.Resultat: Samtliga informanter tyckte att kunna simma var en livsviktig kunskap och att allaelever ska få möjlighet att lära sig att simma i skolan. Eftersom simningen är ett kunskapsmålsom måste tränas på annan plats än på skolan upplevde samtliga informanter att det varje läsårfinns en viss oro hur själva simundervisningen skall kunna genomföras för årskurs 1-6 medtanke på tid, ekonomi, tillgång till simhall och personal.Slutsats: Faktorer som ligger utanför själva simundervisningen och idrottslärarens möjlighetatt påverka kan till stor del vara avgörande för hur simundervisningen genomförs på respektiveskola..

In many regulated rivers, authorities have stocked hatchery salmon to compensate for loss of wild populations. However, hatchery fish have not always behaved as wild fish do, and stocking them has not always fully compensated for the loss of wild fish. The purpose of this study was to compare Swimming behaviour in the river before spawning, the choice of spawning areas and body size between wild and hatchery-reared salmon in the river Klarälven. Salmon behaviour in the river before spawning was analyzed using radio telemetry. The salmon were caught at Forshaga power plant, radio-tagged and returned to Klarälven at Ekshärad, 107 km from the river?s mouth.

Theft without break-ins has increased significantly in the last year of Swimming, sports and leisure facilities in Karlskrona, more precisely 60%. Vandalism in the shape of graffiti is another common crime. The solutions are divided into social and situational crime prevention. Social crime prevention engage in actions that are based on social causes of crime rather than the opposite situational crime prevention, which instead assumes that discourage with the help of technical solutions and has as primary objective to hinder accessibility for example theft friendly goods. The main purpose of this work is to come up with solutions to prevent these crimes, while also being cost-effective and realistic to implement.
