As a Swedish landscape architecture student living in Australia for five years, I have often wondered if my memories and my associations with the landscape and the nature in Sweden, are the same as other Swedish people living in Melbourne. Most of the Swedish people who live here in Melbourne remember and associate Sweden?s nature and landscape with where they grew up or where they used to live. The plants that most of the Swedish people I asked missed from Sweden were associated to special feelings or activities. The general type of landscape people remember from Sweden is that of a landscape covered in forests, which you can walk freely through. With these memories as a foundation and with inspiration from the Swedish landscape architect Thorbjörn Anderson?s way of creating places, by letting a few strong changes play against the existing elements,2 but also with consideration of the climate and the severe shortage of water that is current in Melbourne, will I create a design concept for the garden surrounding the Swedish Church in Melbourne. A design concept that will generate memories and associations to Swedish landscapes..

TV, film och litteratur är områden som alla ingår i de kulturella och kreativa näringarna, dvs. näringar som går ut på att på något sätt producera upplevelser. Fandom, som ofta kretsar kring källmaterial i form av t.ex. TV-serier eller böcker, har trots detta aldrig undersökts med utgångspunkt i upplevelseproduktionsteorier.Syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka hur deltagandet i en fandom kan fördjupa upplevelsen av källmaterialet, med utgångspunkt i två olika upplevelseproduktions-teorier. Denna första ansats till forskning kring kombinationen fandom?upplevelse gjordes genom en litteraturstudie.I bakgrunden presenteras upplevelseekonomin, upplevelseproduktion, samt fenomenet fandom.

In 2007 Swedish Meats, the dominant Swedish meat-producers cooperative sold its slaughtering and processing industry. The goal of a producer cooperative structure is to create value for members through vertical integration, and to strengthen members? market position. When Swedish Meats sold the slaughtering and processing components, it ceased in some respects to serve the function of a cooperative. This is a lost opportunity for both members and non-members, because Swedish Meats as a functioning cooperative could have exploited its dominant market position to positively effect producer?s prices.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to accomplish an understanding for childrens librarians purchases of juvenile books. Two main questions are to be answered: - Which considerations do childrens librarians do when buying juvenile books and which goals and motives are behind their purchases? - What do childrens librarians think that their knowledge and competence consists of and how is that knowledge useful when buying juvenile books? To answer the questions qualitative interviews with five childrens librarians have been carried out. The material has been analyzed through a theoretical construction consisting of theories about collection development, book selection and quality judgments. The conception tacit knowledge silent knowledge from Michael Polanyi has also been used for interpretation.

In school there are many pupils with Swedish as their second language and these pupils often have less basic condition compared with pupils with Swedish as their mother tongue and the most common root cause is lack of language knowledge, also the time spent in Sweden matters.I have trough questionnaires and literature studies investigated if there, for pupils with Swedish as their second language, is an easier way to figure out how to read and write in Swedish using fiction literature as learning material compared with ordinary ways.In the questionnaires that I performed participated a number of teachers that teach Swedish as a second language. These teachers all work in schools with a big share of pupils with Swedish as a second language.I also tried to evaluate if there was a difference between teachers with a graduation in Swedish as second language compared with these who don?t have a graduate but still work with these pupils.The result shows that I discovered that only the graduated teachers have used fiction literature as a learning material in the daily work and have experienced good results from the pupils, they also knew why they used fiction literarture for reading and writing training.As a teacher it is very important to have the knowledge regarding children that have Swedish as a second language, to be able to support them in a correct way.Despite the pupil can?t speak or read the new language, it has feelings and knowledge about the circumstances that they can?t express.The teachers mission is to knew and have understanding for these circumstances.Keywords: Pupils with Swedish as second language, learning to read and write, fiction literarture, school..

En analys av genus och hjälte-/skurkstereotyper i fyra filmerFörfattare: Anna Gummesson och Louise SköldHandledare: Daniel Zachrisson Examinator: Ingegerd Rydin Syfte: Syftet med den här uppsatsen var att analysera fyra animerade långfilmer för att se om det går att urskilja några specifika mönster vad gäller genus, samt vad gäller stereotyperna hjälte/hjältinna och skurk.De filmer som valdes var Snövit och de sju dvärgarna (1937), Den lilla sjöjungfrun (1989), Skönheten och Odjuret (1991) och Shrek (2001), av vilka alla utom den sistnämnda är producerad av Walt Disney Company. Shrek är i stället producerad av Dreamworks. Filmerna valdes ut efter årtal, då vi ville se ifall det fanns några uppenbara skillnader som kan knytas till det år de producerats i, men också efter hur pass relevanta de skulle vara att analysera utifrån valda teman, med tanke på handling och rollkaraktärer.Metod: Textanalys med inslag av ideologikritik.Resultat: Det fanns en hel del mönster att finna i båda temana, som även till viss del visade sig hänga ihop, på det viset att den idealiserade bilden av genus var den som hörde ihop med hur hjältinnan/hjälten var framställda. Den bilden visade kvinnan som den perfekta, vackra, söta och goda, och till viss del passiv och svagare.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to describe by a gender approach what ideas and values are expressed in the novel One Night at Bullar Lake and how they do coincide to a tendency. We also want to discuss authority and class divisions and how these can be connected to the novel and the author. Our final question is to examine in what way the voice of the female author is represented in the novel. To approach our material we use Yvonne Hirdman?s theories about the construction of sexes and Susan Sniader Lanser?s work about voices of female authors, as well as Horace Engdahl?s studies about the silent voice in literature.

This study is a comparative analysis of how Hollywood portrays people from the Middle East before and after 9/11. The films used to conduct this study are True Lies (1994), The Siege (1998), The Kingdom (2007) and Body of Lies (2008). With a qualitative methodology, discourse analysis and postcolonial theory this study analysed not only how people from the Middle East is portrayed, but also how the Americans in the films are presented and how the characters in the films changed in the movies produced after 9/11.     The results show that people from the Middle East are portrayed in a negative way and that Hollywood uses stereotypes. However, people from the Middle East are more gradated in the films post-9/11. There is a bigger focus on Islam in the movies produced after 9/11 and the study also shows that family values play a less central part in the story in the films made after 9/11 and that work is of more importance.

Det övergripande syftet med detta examensarbete är att är att skapa förståelse för i vad mån elevers filmskapande kan ses som en tillgång i deras läs- och skrivutveckling. Vidare så uppmärksammas också lärares syn på hur filmskapande kan bidra till läs- och skrivutveckling samt deras syn på text, berättande och lärande. Studien tar också upp vilka möjligheter och vilka hinder som lärarna anser finns i arbetet med filmskapande i skolan. Empiriskt material i form av kvalitativa intervjuer med sex stycken lärare samt teori och tidigare forskning ligger till grund för min analys och diskussion i studien. Resultatet visar på att lärarna ser lärande utifrån ett sociokulturellt perspektiv och att majoriteten av dem ser filmskapande som ett kulturellt redskap för att uttrycka text.

Vi har under tio veckor producerat en del av Peter Martinssons film Eve. Vi har stått bakom en stor del av den tekniska biten. Vi har inte deltagit något i idéarbetet och idén bakom filmen, däremot har vi påverkat det visuella resultatet genom att göra stora delar av bakgrundsmaterialet. På så sätt har våra idéer och vår konst fått en stor del i filmen. Genom detta arbete har vi velat utveckla våra kunskaper främst i programmet AliasWavefront Maya, men även rent estetiskt. Målet med arbetet var inte att bli klara med filmen, utan att lära oss av produktionsprocessen. Vi har varit tvungna att anpassa oss i vårt arbete till det speciella utseendet som filmen har.

Denna uppsats behandlar Steven Spielbergs film Schindlers list med utgångspunkt i de historiedidaktiska begreppen historiemedvetande och historiebruk. Arbetet baseras således på en analys av filmen. Utslaget av denna analys har blivit en diskussion kring dels specifika scener, dels hur filmen i sin helhet ger uttryck för historiebruk och på vad sätt ett historiemedvetande kan stimuleras. Av vikt har även varit att framhålla på vilket sätt filmen som narrativ kan stimulera ett historiemedvetande. Uppsatsen gör en ansats till att koppla samman de ovannämnda historiedidaktiska begreppen då historiebruk, vilket kan förstås som hur man använder sig av historia, påverkar ett historiemedvetande beroende på vad och hur den väljer att framställa det förflutna.

Escherichia (E) coli is one of the most common udder pathogens associated with acute clinical mastitis in Swedish dairy cows. The aim of this study is to review some of the existing literature on E coli mastitis from a Swedish perspective. The bacteria, its most important characteristics, and diagnostics under field conditions is covered, as well as what happens during infection, how E coli affects the cow and which consequences this have. Clinical symptoms associated with E coli mastitis are described and information on when these cases of mastitis usually occurs is given. Risk factors in the cow?s enviroment are described as well as the importance of the cow?s immune defence.

Uppsatsens syfte är att studera hur det filmiska tv-spelet The Last of Us (Naughty Dog, 2013) har designats för att framkalla emotionella responser med hjälp av en normalitetsmodell. Det går ut på att objektivt identifiera intensiva ögonblick som avbryter/förändrar ett normalitetsläge. Detta leder till fokus på tre huvudpunkter för att förstå helhetsdesignen: produktion av emotion i filmsekvenser, produktion av emotion i spelsekvenser och deras samspel. Spelsekvenser visar sig framkalla emotion när fiendekonfrontationer avbryter spelarens trygga utforskande och skapar spänning genom att utsätta spelare för risker under intensiva sammandrabbningar. Filmsekvenser i sin tur använder realistiskt animerade scener för att uppmärksamma ansiktens betydelse under emotionella scener, samt för att etablera protagonistens normalitetssträvanden och den emotionella risk den medför.
