This study is a part of a Swedish research and development project that is about heat-treated wood and is led by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Luleå University of Technology. Products that are heat-treated already exists on the market, foremost the Finnish brand ThermoWood®, bur the project group want to find out if it would be possible to start a Swedish production with somewhat different applications than what is common today.
The heat-treated wood has many attributes that have changed in the heating process. It becomes more biologically durable, it gains stability in form and dimensions and it becomes darker and looses several unwanted extractives such as resin. Disadvantages that can be mentioned are that the wood becomes fragile and the strength properties changes.
My main purpose with this study is to look into customer involvement in the early phase
of product development. I also want to find out if the customers I interview think that the product is worth working with, which means start a Swedish production.

The most dominating type of company in Sweden is the small-sized business and it usually lacks its own marketing department. The purpose of this paper was to analyze several small Swedish businesses which are specialized in different sectors of the Mechanic/Technology industry but they are similar in terms of having niched products and they are leading companies in the world. The objective was to do research about how small businesses work with marketing despite its lack of resources and capital.This survey has shown that customer contacts, customer relationships and especially for those investigated companies, it was very important to focus on globalization and product development in order to build a Point of Difference..

As self-service technologies become more common in service provisions, a deeper understanding is needed of how customer satisfaction is affected by automated service encounters. Drawing from theories of customer satisfaction, human interaction, and the dynamics of complex service provisions, the differences between automated and interpersonal service encounters in the initial part of a service provision are examined in terms of customers? evaluation of the service encounter itself, overall satisfaction, as well as the service encounter?s impact on global evaluations and evaluations of other non-dependant service encounters. The study was performed on people travelling by air on Swedish domestic routes. Passengers were asked to evaluate the airline?s performance on different attributes of the air travel they had undertaken, as well as to form an overall evaluation of the service.

The purpose of the study is to explain the structure of the boat industry, to analyze and evaluate ways of competing and provide recommendations for developing a competitive strategy. The aim of this thesis is to explain how to be competitive in the Swedish boat industry. To be able to do so three areas are used to deepen as well as broaden the understanding. The three areas within competitiveness we have chosen to highlight are differentiation, individualization and distribution.

The work with credit scoring does not get influenced by Basel II if the Standardised Approach is chosen.? Banks that?ve early implemented high technological systems in the organization, that small banks normally do, have gotten an easier transition to Basel II.? Basel II will result in a risk adjusted pricing and a more fair credit market.? Internal Ratings-based Approaches is very demanding to develop, but at the same time it?s a more risk sensitive approach.? Pillar 2 results in a more sophisticated work for the small banks.? Service Management - har banken lyckats möta kundernas efterfrågan vad gäller utbud och kvalitet?
Syfte: Identifiera vad befintliga företagskunder vill ha för service. Detta för att banken ska behålla och vårda sina kunder samt skapa konkurrensfördelar.Metod: För att komma fram till svaret på vår problemformulering använder vi oss av intervjuer, enkäter och företagsbesök. Informationen vi får fram ur dessa jämför vi sedan med våra teorier.Slutsats: Kristianstads Sparbank har i nuläget ett serviceutbud som stämmer väl överens med vad deras företagskunder efterfrågar. Banken har lyckats väl med sanningens ögonblick då företagen generellt ger höga medelbetyg på den service som banken erbjuder. De mest intressanta slutsatserna har vi kunnat dra utifrån kommentarerna på enkäten.

This study analyses how different companies offer customer support through social media andthe customer experience of it.Facebook emerged in Sweden during 2008 and today it has more than 800 million user acrossthe globe. Initially Facebook was created for individuals. However, over time, Facebook hasincreased its functionality to support the presence of companies as well. Today most companieshas got a Facebook page and through it, they can easily communicate with their customers.Customer support is one of the communication forms that Facebook is used for.1A questionnaire that received a hundred responses together with a survey of the differentFacebook pages was done in order to determine how the companies work through socialmedia. The results from the questionnaire and the survey was analyzed with different theoriesregarding corporate presence on social media and Facebook.The results shows that only a few people actually used Facebook for customer support butamongst the ones who did the majority thought it worked well.

Research has measured the roots? impact on erosion by many different methods, hence the aim of this study is to offer a clearance of what factors play an important role in the choice of appropriate species controlling river bank erosion. I have therefore
studied 17 articles concerning vegetation and erosion control, which were found in different databases such as: Web of Knowledge, Biological Sciences, Academic Search Elite and Google Scholar.
Hur tillgänglig ska bankerna vara? : - En studie av små- och medelstora företag i Västerås
Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka när och på vilket sätt små- och medelstora företag i Västerås vill sköta sina bankärenden samt att undersöka vilken betydelse bankens tillgänglighet har för dessa.Problemfrågor: Vilken betydelse har tillgängligheten för bankens företagskunder? När och på vilket sätt vill företagskunderna sköta sina bankärenden?Tillvägagångssätt: Utifrån en djupdykning bland sekundärdata kring relationer till banken utformades en enkät utifrån den teori som ansågs relevant för utredningen. För att kunna uppfylla syftet och besvara problemfrågorna har vi med hjälp av enkäten genomfört strukturerade telefonintervjuer för att samla in primärdata.Resultat: Företag anser att kontakten med deras kontaktperson i banken samt hur och när de kan kontakta banken är av stor betydelse. Majoriteten vill kunna kontakta och besöka sin bank mellan kl.10.00-15.00, medan en liten del vill kunna göra detta mellan kl.08.00-17.00, något utökat från de ordinarie banktiderna. Mest betydelsefullt för bankens tillgänglighet är utbudet av tjänster och betydelsen av Internet och Internetbanken framhävs av ett stort antal respondenter som det vanligaste sättet som företagarna själva vill sköta sina bankärenden på.

Att implementera abstrakta värden - En flerfallstudie om bankernas CSR-arbete vid utlåning av kapital
The recent development in society?s structure has given rise to a more complex reality for the Swedishbanks. There is an increased pressure from external stakeholders for the banks to take a greater socialresponsibility in society; the bank must therefore focus on both direct as well as indirect effects of itsactions. The term corporate social responsibility implies that the company does not only focus on itsfinancial status but also on values such as ethics and environment. These commitments are crystalized,more or less clearly, in the banks? lending policy?s, whom are entirely defined by the banksthemselves.The nature of the abstract CSR expression gives rise to uncertainty, both in regards to the banks ownefforts towards social responsibility but also for the external stakeholders, for which it can be quitedifficult to understand what commitments are actually made.This study aims to investigate how the Swedish banks public statements, with regards to their lendingpolicy, correlates with the actual actions carried out by the banks.
