There was a big differences in features between the Northern, Western, Eastern and Southern regions of Europe. The aim of this thesis is to identify and describe how perceived environmental risks are managed and what the incentives are to work proactively to minimize the risks. To reach an Ecological Sustainable Development, Sweden has established environmental quality objectives. Green spaces are attractive for exploitation and in Sweden the access to large jointly green spaces has decreased, which has impact on humans recreation and the biodiversity. The economic aspect has great impact on the planning process which gives indications that the environmental objective may collide with other sector goals within the municipality. The thesis overall aim is to see how the management by objectives for the green spaces implements and how the green spaces is handled in the planning process in a specific case. The thesis builds on a content analysis, strategic interviews and a case study.

Agriculture has to be performed in a sustainable way in order to sustain high yields and to support a globally growing population. Functional soil properties are fundamental for high yields and in order to achieve good soil conditions sustainable management is a key. Loss of soil organic material and increased soil acidity are problems associated with degradation of soils and hence less sustainable agriculture. In this thesis, the effect of different agricultural systems on soil organic matter, pH and yield was examined. The systems examined are a cereal system with straw removal or returning and a ley system, all with different nitrogen levels.

Has new, mutual,knowledge been constructed or has already existing knowledge been transferred?The study consists of one participating observation and three interviews. They showhow the financed projects have been ?stirred up? so that a developmental learning process hasstarted within their organization.

A case study of?elderly care in Kalmar Municipality This study examines how Human Capital Theory and New Public?Management are reflected in the governance of eldercare in Kalmar?municipality. Based on document analysis and interviews with politicians?and senior officials, the study shows that investments in staff competence?and well-being coexist with efficiency-oriented management practices.?Rather than being contradictory, these approaches are often combined in?everyday governance. The study concludes that the main challenge is not?funding, but capacity and that sustainable eldercare depends on aligning?national goals with local conditions and strong human capital.

Hållbar utveckling i skolan? en studie om hur lärare arbetar med hållbar utvecklingSustainable development in school? a study about teachers work with sustainable developmentI detta arbete har jag tittat på hur lärare med inriktning mot naturvetenskapliga ämnen arbetar med hållbar utveckling i klassrummet. Jag har i teoriavsnittet valt att börja med en definition av begreppet hållbar utveckling där de tre olika perspektiven miljö, socialt och ekonomi tas upp. Sedan beskrivs det aktuella miljöproblemet global uppvärmning, för att sedan i teori delen ta upp vad som står om hållbar utveckling i läroplanen och i kursplanerna för kemi, biologi och fysik. I det sista teoriavsnittet beskrivs hur två olika skolor har arbetat på olika sätt med hållbar utveckling.Metoden som har använts i undersökningen är kvalitativa intervjuer där fyra naturvetenskapslärare har intervjuats om sin undervisning i hållbar utveckling.

Runt om i landet finns idag ett stort antal olika natur- och kulturområden som bidrar till utveckling samtidigt som natur- och kulturvärden skyddas. Ekoparker är Sveaskogs benämning på ett sammanhängande skogslandskap med höga naturvärden och är ett förhållandevis nytt tillskott till natur- och kulturskyddet i Sverige. Några av ekoparkerna är intressanta för turism och turistisk utveckling, däribland Ekopark Böda. Ekopark Böda som invigdes 2006 ligger på norra Öland.
