This thesis describes the redesign ofequipment designed for drying bags thatis used in Fresenius Kabis´manufacturing of their nutritionmedicine in Uppsala. The need of thistask arise during the start of thedevelopment of a new packaging line werethis equipment were meant to be used. Anevaluation of the bagdryers capacity andcapability was necessary.The work started with gathering ofinformation from suppliers of the usedcomponents and from the responsibleengineers for this equipment. Aneducation to learn how the equipmentworked and how to operate it were taken.That was followed by the creation of astudy plan were the tests were plannedto test different parameters effect onthe drying result and to see if thebagdryer managed to handle the bags ofthe correct format in the pace that theequipment should be designed for.The test results detected a need ofdesigning a unit with a function thatholds the bags in place while passingthrough the dryer in order to attainhigh quality results. The results werelater used for optimization of thedesign.

Gävle kommun har som mål att öka cyklandet i Gävle. År 2025 ska andelen resor kortare än fyra kilometer vara 60%, i senaste undersökningen från år 2012 låg den andelen på 24% (Atterbrand et al, 2012). Enligt samma undersökning konstaterades det att Gävle kommun inte är på väg att uppnå sina mål då andelen kortare resor som genomförs med cykel har stått på samma siffra sedan 2006 (Indebetou et al, 2012).Examensarbetet syftar till att ta fram ett koncept som uppmuntrar fler människor till att välja cykeln framför andra färdmedel. Problemformuleringen handlar om hur intresset för att cykla i stadsmiljö kan ökas.Arbetet har begränsats till att fokusera på en lokal nivå, men tanken är att resultatet ska kunna användas för att skapa liknande produkter till alla stadsmiljöer.Metoder som har använts för att komma fram till slutresultatet är intervjuer med privatpersoner och nyckelpersoner inom Gävle kommun, litteraturstudier, funktionsanalys och marknadsundersökning.Till undersökningen har matrial från Gävle kommun använts, men även vetenskapliga artiklar och intervjuer. Här används fakta för att styrka anledningar till varför personer bör välja att cykla framför andra färdmedel samt vad Gävle har för potential som cykelstad.I genomförandet visas flera skissförslag som tagits fram med inspiration från undersökningen.

In the growing concern for the state of the environment more tools are being integrated in the decision-making processes. Sweden actively makes use of environmental impact assessment (EIA), which is supposed to minimise negative impacts of a project, policy or plans on the environment. The EIA process in Sweden still requires certain improvements to be more efficient. In this study actor interaction was analysed with trust being the framework for analysis. The aim is to find out whether it is possible to use trust as a framework for analysis since trust research is very discipline dependent.

In this thesis I investigate aesthetic preference for picture books among children aged 3?6 as well as criteria for preference among parents. Through my design project: illustration of a picture book, I aim to put my research on preference in the context of illustration and design. By using the design project as an applied method for research I have sought to answer how one as an illustrator can apply knowledge regarding preferences of the target groups when illustrating for picture books. I have primarily based my research within the field of cognitive developmental psychology, with primary focus on stage theory, and the field of literature.

Creating a database to manage medical data is not the easiest. We create a database to be used for a presentation tool that presents medical data about patients that is stored in the database. We examine which of the three databases, MySQL with relational design, MySQL with EAV design and MongoDB that are best suited for storing medical data. The analysis i performed in two steps. The first step handles the database that is most effective to retriev data. The second step examines how easy it is to change the structure of the various databases. The results show that depending on whether efficiency or maintenance is most important, different databases are the best choise. MySQL with relational design proves to be most effective while MongoDB is the easiest to maintain..

The climate issue is a significant question, and the problem is mainly caused by human activities. Everyone can help to counteract the enhanced Greenhouse effect by reducing the amounts of energy they use and by not consuming more products then they need.Schools are some of societies many consumers and therefore contribute to the Greenhouse effect. The School also has an important task; to teach and disseminate knowledge and information about the climate and the environment. According to the Swedish National Agency for Education, Skolverket, must all schools regularly consider the environment and sustainable development throughout the entire education process. Unfortunately, this is not the case for many schools in Sweden today.One of many tools that can be used to coordinate environmental work and initiatives, and also to make it more efficient, is environmental management systems.

Upplands Väsby municipality has a vision that podcars in the future will become an effective alternative in public transport, with reduced car-dependency as a result. The system would also attract new inhabitants and businesses to the municipality.This report deals with various issues that podcar stations may face. Also, suggestions for possible track laying at the stations and station design are presented. Two areas are investigated. Eds allé which is a neighborhood that is planned for housing and where the station may be planned into the cityscape from the start.

Användandet av enheter med varierande skärmstorlek för att surfa på webbsidor ökar. Webben är således under en ständig förändring. Ansvariga för en webbsida måste därmed bestämma hur de ökade kraven som dessa olika enheter ställer ska kunna tillgodoses. Genom att använda sig av HTML5, CSS3 samt Responsive Web Design kan en webbsidas design på ett önskvärt sätt anpassas efter enhetens skärmstorlek. Denna uppsats syftar till att ge riktlinjer för att förenkla den migrationsprocess som en designer av en webbsida förr eller senare måste ta ställning till för att kunna hantera olika enheters skärmstorlekar.

The essay is written at the request of Nyköping municipality park management by PatRadestedt who wanted a design proposal for one of the five courtyards at the Tessin Schoolin Nyköping. The Tessin School is located 2 miles from the center of Nyköping and the schoolhouses approximately 900 students. To make a design proposal for the courtyard that lies atthe canteen I decided from the outset that I wanted to take some of the Tessin SchoolStudents' opinions and wishes regarding their own outdoor spaces. I had a workshop witheight students from the arts program with the image orientation in which they had to drawand tell them what they wanted to do in the courtyard. The outcome of the workshop, Iused to move forward in my future work with a concept that fit into the environment, wethen apply it in my final design proposal.

Det finns mycket forskning om hur design bygger starka varumärken, men den är inte branschspecifik.  Modebranschen är en komplex företagsmiljö med ständigt förändrade marknadsvillkor. Detta kräver att modeföretag arbetar med effektiva strategier för att kunna differentiera sig mot konkurrenterna, där varumärket ses som ett verktyg.Avsikten med denna uppsats är att studera tre modeföretags designprocess och hur man, med hjälp av design som verktyg, kan förmedla sin varumärkesidentitet till konsumenterna i form av en varumärkesupplevelse.Denna studie är av kvalitativ karaktär och består av tre individuella intervjuer med centrala personer från valda företag (Mayla, Minna Palmqvist och Whyred), samt individuella intervjuer och gruppintervjuer med konsumenter. Insamlad data har analyserats med hjälp av en modifierad modell av The Corporate Branding Model och The Brand Design Management Model. Med hjälp av modellen identifierades modeföretagens varumärkesidentitet och deras designprocess kartlades.

Samtida, kritisk design som företeelse är ett, om inte helt nytt, ändå moderniseratfenomen inom det designkulturella området som under kort tid blivit tämligen utbrett. Undersökningens syfte är att få en fördjupad kunskap för området för mig som blivande lärare inom design. Det känns viktigt att vara uppdaterad i samtida designrörelser för att ge undervisningen ett aktuellt perspektiv. För att söka kunskap om områdets profession undersöker jag med vilka intentioner formgivare har arbetat inom området samtida kritisk design. Litteraturstudier hjälper till att synliggöra utmärkande teman, frågeställningar och arbetssätt inom området.

Med den här kandidatuppsatsen har jag skapat en interaktionsdesign för en handkirurgisk mottagning på Sophiahemmet, som är ett privatsjukhus. Min interaktionsdesign består av ett enkätverktyg som ska finnas på en hemsida som ännu inte är utvecklad, för att mäta klinisk vårdkvalitet och allmänt bemötande av patienter på mottagningen. Förhoppningen är att min design kommer förenkla handkirurgens insamling av patienternas uppfattning av kvaliteten på mottagningen. Som privat kirurg är det viktigt att få reda på kvaliteten i operationerna, både för kirurgens egen utveckling och i marknadsföringssyfte. Resultaten från kvalitetsundersökningen ska därför också presenteras på ett tillfredsställande sätt.

During the past few years an increased attention has been paid to environmental issues in the construction and property sector in Sweden. In order to simplify the work with these issues a Swedish environmental certification system for buildings called Miljöbyggnad has been developed. This thesis aims to investigate the opinion of a selected number of selected property owners of Miljöbyggnad. From that basis recommendations and actions for the future work with the system will be presented.The investigation has been conducted through personal interviews with five property owners. The main issues that the interviews have been based on are their purpose, experiences, perceived complications and future prospects in terms of certification using Miljöbyggnad.The system intends to be cost-effective, simple and to offer a relevant environmental assessment of buildings and the result from the report indicates that this is largely fulfilled.

This thesis is based on design theory about how to build an application for the mobile platform, a scientific analysis and an application for grocery shopping and meal planning. The thesis also contains a valuation of the research and of the application. The valuation of the application was done by a usability test and an analysis of the results of the test.The application of the thesis has an easy navigation system, which is time saving and simple to use. Finding recipes with the associated ingredients is a quick fix. The search function can be used for searching freely after recipes as well as for separate ingredients. That makes it possible for the user to create own recipes from available ingredients.

Det fanns tider då en webbplats lockade till sig användare oavsett hur dåligt den fungerade eller hur dåligt den såg ut. Tekniken var ny och användarna struntade i hur webbplatsen såg ut. Idag är allting annorlunda, företagens webbplats är ofta deras ansikte utåt. Det första som en potentiell kund kommer kontakt med när de söker efter information om olika tjänster och produkter är det på företagens webbplats. Och faktum är, i dagens näringsliv, vill alla företag visa det bästa ansikte för allmänheten.
