Långvarig smärta är ett problem för många människor i hela världen och kan innebära svårigheter att utföra de aktiviteter man vill, måste eller förväntas utföra. Syftet med uppsatsen var att beskriva vilka dagliga aktiviteter patienter med långvarig smärta ansåg vara viktigast att förändra samt att undersöka om aktivitetsutförande och aktivitetstillfredsställelse förändrades efter smärtrehabilitering. Studien genomfördes efter avslutad rehabilitering på en multimodal smärtrehabilitering i Skåne. Undersökningsgruppen bestod av 46 patienter, 11 män och 35 kvinnor. Instrumentet Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) användes samt patienternas egna kommentarer till förändringen kategoriserades och sammanställdes.

Företag inom alla branscher arbetar aktivt med att minska sina kostnader genom ökad effektivitet i interna processer, så är även fallet inom daglivarubranschen. Ett sökande efter ny teknik och nya sätt att utveckla branschen står alltid på dagordningen. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) är nästa generations identifieringsteknik för dagligvaruhandeln, det är därför viktigt att tekniken börjar implementeras och användas. Svenska Retursystem är ett företag som tillhandahåller returlådor till den Svenska livsmedelsbranschens aktörer. För att effektivisera användandet av lådorna så har de givit uppdrag om en undersökning om vilka effekter införandet av RFID i deras returlådor skulle ha på användandet.

Competition of spruce fiber raw materials has increased dramatically in the last few years, leading to the fact that transportation costs in the current situation represents a much larger share of the total raw material cost. The Holmen-owned pulp industry Hallsta Paper Mill's location on the coast also constitutes a problem, because of the lack of raw material, which is much larger there, than for a pulp mill located in the hinterland. For a coastal industry it?s therefore natural to import much of the raw material by boat or to buy it from the timber terminals, in order to maintain good profitability. The purpose of this study was to analyze how the size of Hallsta Paper Mill timber supply area, without competition, with competition and with terminal use, affects the company ?s transport costs.

The female dog has a unique reproductive endocrinology, with high levels of progesterone throughout the 70-day long luteal phase. In this project, markers of glucose metabolism were studied and compared from the aspects of breed group and time in oestral cycle. The parameters studied were: glucose, insulin, progesterone, fructosamine and the newly introduced analysis of HbA1c. Hba1c was also further evaluated and discussed as a diagnostic tool in canine medicine.No differences in terms of glucose markers were found between a group of purebreed dogs of various breeds compared to a group of dogs with high risk of dioestrus diabetes, namely the Norwegian and Swedish elkhounds.No differences were found between the two sample occasions, anoestrus and dioestrus, concluding that there is no need for relating test results to the time of the oestrous cycle in middle-aged intact female dogs.There were statistically significant higher values of all glucose markers in diabetic dogs than in non-diabetic dogs. When it came to HbA1c, however, there was a larger overlap between the two groups, compared to fructosamine.

Due to better nutrition, veterinary and overall care, pet dogs? lifespan has increased. With more old dogs we see more health problems associated with age, among those cognitive decline, leading to deficits in learning and memory, disorientation, anxiety and other altered behaviors. Cognitive decline can have severe negative impacts on the life of both dog and owner, when the dog for example forgets being housetrained or starts being awake at night. Two pet food manufacturers have developed food with specific ingredients in order to improve cognitive functions or delay the onset of cognitive impairment. Hill?s Pet Nutrition has developed a dog food with supplements of a broad spectrum of antioxidants and mitochondrial nutrients, aiming to diminish oxidative damage in the brain, thereby maintaining brain function and improving learning ability.

The purpose of this study was to examine people's experiences of self-medication with cannabis in relation to post-traumatic stress disorder and professions? opinions of cannabis for medical use. The study focuses on norms and values as well as its impact on individuals. A qualitative approach was used with thematically open interview questions, in order to gain an insight into the interviewees? reality and their experiences.

Arbetets utgångspunkt var att Logosol AB gav oss uppdraget att optimera deras förpackningslösningar ur kostnadssynpunkt. Vi insåg tidigt att det skulle bli omöjligt att genomföra en optimering då relevant information saknades och sannolikt alldeles för tidskrävande att ta fram. Detta ledde till att uppdraget övergick från att handla om en optimeringsansats till att skapa ett kostnadsbaserat kalkylunderlag som tillåter en jämförelse mellan olika förpackningsalternativ. Vi koncentrerade oss på två produkter som båda var representativa för en stor del av företagets produktsortiment. Då förpackningar måste köpas in tänkte vi utvärdera om TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)-ansatsen skulle vara lämplig för ändamålet.

The purpose of this study was to investigate different relations between the damages of falls and background variables as well as the relation between the falls and the weather condition to later be able to use this report to expand the knowledge among workers at VTI about the pedestrian fall injuries. All of the fall injuries in the data that this study is based on have occurred in Sweden during the time period between January 2003 and December 2011.To be able to answer the questions that this report is based on several statistical methods are used. The statistical methods that have been used during the making of this report are multiple linear regression, binary logistic regression, correlation analysis, association analysis and descriptive statistics as well as visual analysis.The results of the study show that women around menopause age have a tendency to get a big increase in the amount of injuries compared to men of the same age. The study also suggests that men on average tend to have a lower level of injury compared to women.Age also seems to affect both the amount of injuries and the level of injury negatively. The study suggests that the most likely reason for this is both that the intake of ?Fall Risk Increasing Medicine?, which is medicine that increases the drowsiness, is higher among older individuals as well as lower estrogen levels among older women and lower amount of testosterone among older men, which causes a loss of bone density in both sexes.The weather seems to have a strong effect on how many injuries occur but also a noticeable effect on the scale of the injury.

Handen har en central roll i människans sociala liv. Förlust av en hand eller delar av en hand kan medföra en helt ny livssituation, inte minst i arbetslivet. Personer som drabbas av större handskador beräknas till cirka 50 personer per år. Det är dessa stora handskador som orsakar mest bekymmer för individen som kan omöjliggöra en återgång till ett tidigare arbete. Patientens upplevelse av denna nya livssituation blir i allmänhet minskad tillfredställelse, sorg och besvikelse vilket ger dålig självkänsla.

Problem och bakgrund: Fram till för ett antal år sedan fokuserade forskare inom Supply ChainManagement på frågor som miljö, säkerhet och sociala rättigheter separat, utan att titta på vadinteraktion mellan dessa frågor kunde innebära för företag. Sedan dess har mängder av akademiskaartiklar skrivits som behandlar hållbar utveckling sett ur ett helhetsperspektiv där ekonomiska,miljömässiga och sociala strategier behandlas tillsammans för att uppnå största möjliga nytta i företagsleverantörskedjor. Dessa har sedermera mynnat ut i ett koncept som benämns Sustainable SupplyChain Management (SSCM). I ljuset av detta ämnar rapporten besvara två frågor: (i) Vilkanyckelområden består ämnesdisciplinen SSCM av? och (ii) i vilken utsträckning arbetar svenskaföretag som anses vara goda exempel inom arbete med hållbar utveckling med SSCM i sinverksamhet?Syfte: Syftet med rapporten är att redogöra för vilka nyckelområden forskningsdisciplinen SSCMbestår av.

Antalet personer som är 65 år eller äldre har fördubblats under de senaste 50 åren. Eftersom den äldre befolkningen ökar och vårdplatserna på sjukhus och boende minskar är hemrehabilitering en rehabiliteringsform som är mycket aktuell. Hemrehabilitering riktar sig till alla åldersgrupper, men majoriteten som får rehabilitering i hemmet är dock äldre. Syftet med vår studie var att studera arbetsterapeuters uppfattning om hemrehabilitering. Vi valde att belysa områdena; hemrehabiliteringens innebörd, samarbete med andra yrkesgrupper, anhörigas roll, för- och nackdelar samt förslag till utveckling.

When the Tsunami occurred on Boxing Day 2004 it caused a major stress upon the governmental agencies in not only the affected areas but also in states that had a large number of citizens in the affected area. The governmental agencies were not prepared for the demands from the citizenry in these countries to deal with rescue and crisis management in areas situated halfway around the globe. This thesis main purpose is to research what the causal mechanisms of Sweden?s and Finland?s crisis management were through the method of process tracing. Taking its theoretical stance in Allison?s & Zelikow?s three models of decision making, the thesis compares the course of events of the first two critical days in Sweden and Finland to establish what mistakes were made during this critical period.

As a company it is required to work with strategies to minimize costs such as packaging and logistic costs. The increased market of industrial produced wooden buildings results that the time and the cost which the packaging of prefabricated building elements consume, is experienced to be in greater need of development than before and demands a better solution. The aim with this dissertation was to discover how the development of the handling of the packaging can improve the packaging process. The goal was to present improvement proposals for a simplified and thereby a more efficient production in time and cost perspective.The packaging process which includes packaging, handling, storage and transport were studied. Interviews were made with participants from the market for manufacturers of wooden houses and a case study was made at the company A-hus.

Svenska filmbranschen styrs av ett filmavtal mellan staten och olika aktörer i branschen. Detta avtal skall förnyas under år 2013. Staten har i en avsiktsförklaring för det nya avtalet uttryckt en vilja till en förändring kring villkoren för att få statligt stöd för filmproduktion i Sverige. En så kallad teknikneutralitet skall införas som innebär att filmproduktioner inte längre på förhand behöver ha säkrat en biografdistribution för att få statligt ekonomiskt stöd. Detta skulle kunna innebära en förändring för den svenska filmens distribution i Sverige som i nuläget består av tämligen fast ordning på visningsfönster, där just biografdistributionen har en särställning.Vår forskning behandlar svenska filmproducenters, distributörers och biografägares tankar och åsikter kring distribution av svensk långfilm i Sverige.
