The aim of this study was to create a greater understanding of apostates, by analyzing narratives of five ex-members regarding their exit from Jehovah?s Witnesses. I conducted interviews to gather descriptions from specific individuals in relation to their experiences, mainly focusing on the role of an ex-member of a specific group. The informants in the study were 38-73 years old, three women and two men. The empirical data I collected was later coded through qualitative content analysis, where central topics and themes formed the basis for the analysis of the results.

Bakgrund: Endometrios är en vanligt förekommande gynekologisk sjukdom som ofta förorsakar lidande. Trots det får drabbade kvinnor ofta vänta länge på diagnos, rätt vård och behandling. Sjukdomen har en komplex sjukdomsbild som skiljer sig åt och på olika sätt påverkar kvinnornas liv.Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva kvinnors upplevelse av att leva med endometrios utifrån sjukdomslidande, vårdlidande och livslidande.Metod: Allmän litteraturöversikt där tio vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades med Katie Erikssons teorier om sjukdomslidande, vårdlidande och livslidande som bedömningsgrund.Resultat: Endometrios påverkade kvinnornas liv på flera sätt. Kvinnorna led ofta av intensiv smärta samt andra symtom och tecken vilka ofta bagatelliserades av vårdgivare som många gånger ansåg att kvinnornas symtom var inbillade eller av psykosomatisk karaktär. Vidare påverkade sjukdomen kvinnornas relationer och sociala liv då de inte sällan bemöttes med misstro från sin omgivningSlutsats: Vårdgivare behöver mer kunskap om endometrios och dess sjukdomsbild för att förhindra att kvinnornas symtom blir trivialiserade och negligerade.

This bachelor thesis is written as a part of the geography program at Stockholm University, Sweden, and the study was conducted from April to June 2012.Tuberculosis (TB) is an airborne disease and one of the most widespread infectious diseases in the world with more than nine million new cases each year (SMI 2012, digital source). The disease is a major source of death and Suffering in many places and the number of deaths remains high despite the availability of highly efficacious treatment. To control and prevent further spread of TB, the mapping of the disease spatial distribution is of essential importance.In this study, maps were produced that shows the spatial distribution of TB between the years 2002 to 2011 in the municipality of Stockholm. These maps allow an analysis of the spatial distribution at a local scale over time.The aim of this paper is to study how the spatial distribution of TB has looked like in the municipality of Stockholm the last 10 years and to analyze why the spatial distribution of the disease looked like it did. This study is based on the hypothesis ?drift?.

This essay is about reading among patients in hospital. The aim of the essay is to find out what part reading and the library play for patients in hospital. An additional aim is to find out in what ways the collaboration between hospital librarians and hospital staff could be developed. The starting-point of the problem is one main question: What part does reading play for the patient during the stay at the hospital? On the basis of the answers to this question I have also looked for possibilities of enhanced co-operation between hospital libraries and hospital staff.The method for the essay is qualitative and fifteen persons in three different wards at University Hospital in Malm have been interviewed.

The aim of this study was to investigate whether a dietary change, physical activity or a combination of both gave the best result when treating obesity, concerning weight loss and BMI. Excessive weight and obesity are today a big health-issue and it is estimated that 10 % of the men and 12 % of the women in Sweden have a BMI over 30, i.e. are Suffering from obesity. The purpose of this scientific essay is to evaluate if a continuous glucose monitoring system is something that can benefit Swedish animal health care. The study investigates if it is medically possible to use continuous glucose monitoring systems on dogs with an apparatus attached to their bodies. Furthermore, I try to establish whether this is possible in practice and how it could be done. The keywords used were diabetes mellitus, insulin, continuous glucose monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, dog, pet owner and animal nursing care. Furthermore, I wanted to find out if this system could be an alternative to currently established methods to measure the patient?s blood glucose level.

A radical change is taking place in the world today: some former colonies are now booming economically while several former colonizers are Suffering from economic crisis. In Portugal circulated also lusotropicalism, an ideology that claimed Portugal as absolutely free of racism, a statement with great influence in the postcolonial Portugal.On the basis of semi-structured focus groups I will in this paper do a discourse analysis of young, university educated Portuguese identity/ies in relation to the former colonies and the changing relations to these countries.

Introduction Every tenth patient in Sweden is affected by nosocomial infections. Among these, urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most frequently occurring within the hospital environment. Nosocomial infections lead to increasing costs for care, more Suffering among the patients, increasing use of antibiotics, and longer treatment spells. The Academic hospital have engaged all wards in the so called VRISS-project (?nosocomial infections must be stopped?) in order to reduce the number of nosocomial infections.Aim In connection to the VRISS-project new routines for removal of uretrahl catheters are introduced at ward 70E2 at the Academic hospital.

Hälso och sjukvården har ett ansvar att ge informativt och rådgivande stöd i samband med livsstilsförändringar.SyfteSyftet var att beskriva personers upplevda behov av stöd från hälso- och sjukvården i samband med en gastric bypassoperation.MetodEn kvalitativ intervjustudie användes med utgångspunkt i gastric bypassopererade personers erfarenheter.

Background: Overweight in children is a growing problem around the world. Studies has shown that children Suffering from overweight, are at a greater risk to remain overweight as adults as well. Child health care nurses have an important task by trying to motivate parents to better diet and exercise habits for their children. Previous research proves that overweight and obesity in children is a very complex problem which requires a good caring relationship between child health care nurses and parents.Purpose: The purpose of the study was to illuminate the experiences of child health care nurses of meeting parents of overweight children.Method: An inductive qualitative approach was used as method. The collection of data was conducted by using semi-structured interviews.
