Lär med Educare : När omsorg möter lärande i förskolan

 AbstractMy curiosity of Students' use of images for reading led me to seek knowledge of the Students view on the text illustrations in the literature and through interviews. This study is about how pupils in the school year 2 experience reading, especially with images. The purpose is to investigate the significance of illustrations in reading for Students in school year 2. I also want to find out how Students see themselves as readers and how the survey material believes that the Students comprehend reading. Eight children, both girls and boys have participated in the interview.

The aim of this thesis is to examine how high school Students use their school library for their information-seeking. The theoretical framework is based on Louise Limbergs three categories of Students views on information-seeking and Andrew Large and Jamshid Beheshtis three categories of Students choice of information systems. Qualitative interviews were used and seven high school Students were interviewed. The empirical material was compared and divided into 9 categories. The results show that the Students see the school library as a place where they can search for information, but its also considered to be a good place to hang out between lessons to study or to meet friends.

The purpose of this essay was to find out how violin Students apprehend their tuition and if it is possible to achieve good results without negative comparison or competition.The examination is based on eight in-depth interviews with violin Students between 8 and19 years of age. All of the Students had a strong will to develop and to feel satisfied with their achievements. Almost all of them agree that some degree of comparison and competition between violin Students does exist. Although some of the Students had seen negative sides of such competition, they agree on comparison as a good thing as long as it´s positive..

Matematikverkstad : hur kan lärare och elever arbeta där?

The starting point of this work has been to get knowledge about teachers working in a mathematical workshop with the Students. I also wanted to investigate what Students think about math, both within the workshop and in traditional teaching.To achieve this I chose to interview a teacher in charge within the framework of a mathematical workshop, and six Students in the 5th grade. I also did a lesson observation with the purpose to see how well the teacher?s tutoring agrees with the results of the interview.In this study I have discovered that the lessons in the mathematical workshop are planned after what the Students are working with in the textbook. The teacher opens the lessons with the whole class and then splits it up in groups.

Nivågruppering i matematik : Ur ett elevperspektiv

The question how teaching should be organized in order to give the Students the help and support they need to reach their goals is always of vital interest. All Students are unique individuals with different prerequisities, possibilities and needs. Streaming in mathematics could be one solution.The first week at upper secondary school a diagnostic test is carried through. Thereafter, the result is used as a basis for dividing the classes into different teaching groups. Thus, the groups working with mathematics become more homogeneous and the Students? previous knowledge is approximately at the same level.

The purpose of this essay is to explore how Students in secondary school seek out and use information. More specifically, the essay examines how the search and use of information differs between Students working in groups and Students working independently. The essay draws on in-depth interviews with six Students. Two different theories are used to analyse the transcripts from the interviews. The first theory consists of Carol Kuhlthau?s six different stages showing how the Students? feelings, emotions and actions change during the information seeking process.

Gymnasieelevers inställning till lokal skolstyrelse med elevmajoritet : En enkätstudie

The aim for this essay is to investigate Students attitudes to a local schoolboard with student majority to determin the level of functionality, relevancy and interest for this schoolboard among the Students in a Swedish gymnasium in Örebro. This is done by distibution of a questionnaire form to a third of the Students in the third grade . The results show that the attitudes overall amongst the Students are positive, although the level of interest is low. One explanation for this low level of interest could be the lack of information from the school board to the Students..

The purpose of this Bachelor?s thesis is to examine university librarians? perceptions of information literacy, of Students? information literacy and of education in information literacy. The focus is on how they perceive the Students? information literacy development during their university studies. Also of interest in this study is how librarians think that their teaching in information literacy should be included in the Students? other courses. Three librarians at a Swedish university library were interviewed using qualitative interviews.

Ett extra år i grundskolan

The basic idea behind an extra year in school was to offer Students who have not read nine years in Swedish primary school an opportunity to prepare themselves to pass a high school. This first group that went an extra year in school consisted of eleven Students who completed their studies and went on to high school. During the time the group expanded, the school received Students from various schools in the same municipality. During the follow-up of these groups could be noted that there were many Students who registered, but only few Students completed their studies and went on to high school. The purpose of this study was to explore why leadership in the classroom is important for Students.

Kurs i projektarbete : Elevsyn på kursen och mina egna tankar om ett alternativ

This study has been performed at a smaller high school and with its industry Students, the high school is located in a small industrial community. The purpose of my study has been to find out what Students think about their work with the project work, what they think has been positive and negative, how their motivation is influenced by the work on the project and if the work has been affected by factors outside the school world.The interviews have been carried out like normal conversation with open questions. The Students who participated in the study comes from the school where I did my internship. The selection was done by asking all Students from a specific course, those who were positive to participate are also the ones I have chosen to interview. My main study results, in summary, described as the Students, once they were inside their work were positive to the project work and felt motivated in their work. Negative experiences, for the Students which attend a practical program, has mainly been economic, as the school does not provide any financial support.

AbstractThis paper aims to examine reading comprehension among Swedish Upper Secondary SchoolStudents who are doing their last school year. My research questions are if the Students havesufficient reading comprehension to cope with university studies and higher educationaccording to a comprehension test and if there is a difference between Students who studiedSwedish B course or Swedish as a second language B course. Furthermore it involves issuesof differences in results depending on gender and if the second-language Students were bornin Sweden or abroad.To get answers to my questions, I let 112 Students in my survey carry out the readingcomprehension part of the TISUS test, observed several test sessions, and interviewed 24Students who participated in the test. The result shows that most Students have difficultieswith the reading comprehension, and probably would find it difficult to study at universitiesor colleges. There are major differences in the results between the Swedish B-Students andSwedish as a second language Students, but also within these groupings.

The aim of the present study is to describe the experiences of high school Students as regards the effects of their activities, in and out of lessons, being published on the web. In addition, a further purpose is to acquire knowledge about whether a website could be used as means of increasing the Students level of attention, and focus, to their activities in school; and, furthermore, how such a website should be designed to correspond with the Students requests.The implemented methods are interviews with Students, school administrators and teachers. A survey was conducted covering the student?s personal experiences and opinions. Furthermore, an interface test of the website was performed.

AbstractThe purpose of this study has been to find out what attitude fifth graders have towards mathematics. This is done to get a better understanding of student?s feelings regarding about mathematics and what it is that makes mathematics fun or boring. My questions have been: What do the Students think is fun, boring and difficult about mathematics? How do Students think that a good mathematics teacher should be? Do the Students see a difference in the mathematics teaching in easy compulsory school years?To find answers to my questions I have looked into prior research on Students attitudes towards mathematics.

Elevers uppfattning och användning av sitt skolbibliotek i en invandrartät gymnasieskola

This thesis examines the perception and use of the school library for Students at an Upper Secondary School. The school has a high frequent of immigrant Students, and the Students interviewed all have an immigrant background. The intention was to find out how the Students used the school library and what perception they have of the school library. The method used was semi-structured interviews with eight Students, both males and females, who studies different educational programs. The instrument of theory was that from Elisabeth Tallaksen Rafste?s theoretical framework.
