AbstractThe purpose of this study has been to find out what attitude fifth graders have towards mathematics. This is done to get a better understanding of Student?s feelings regarding about mathematics and what it is that makes mathematics fun or boring. My questions have been: What do the Students think is fun, boring and difficult about mathematics? How do Students think that a good mathematics teacher should be? Do the Students see a difference in the mathematics teaching in easy compulsory school years? To find answers to my questions I have looked into prior research on Students attitudes towards mathematics.

The aim of this study is to highlight the computer as a learning resource in the education and give us knowledge about how the Students uses the computer in year one in a selected High School where one computer per Student were introduced in autumn 2011. The aim is also to contribute to the discussion about how the computer can become a natural learning resource for all Students in all subjects, including the Students in need of special support. How are the High School Students using the computer? Are there differences in computer use, whether the Student is in academic or vocational program? Are there differences in computer use between boys and girls?Do the Student experience that the digital competence is increasing together with if they experience the computer as aid?In what degree do the teachers encourage the Students to use the computer? How much do the Students use the computer to learn mathematic? The study is based on a survey of all Students in year one in a municipal High School. The result of the study is showing that the Students first of all use the computer to play music, surf the Internet and to be logged in on social media (eg. Facebook). The Students have learned to use the computer for the tasks they need, although the teachers don?t encourage the Students to use the computer in any higher means, not in mathematics and not in other subjects.

This paper reports from a study looking at teacher?s and Student?s apprehensions regarding rubrics. The idea to research this specific subject stems from our interest in this phenomenon due to our education and curiosity about how rubrics are apprehended and not about how they are used or described. To explore this area we have used empirical material compiled through interviews. The analysis is done by creating categories containing various apprehensions expressed in the material through different characterizations of the phenomenon called rubrics.

This thesis primarily includes a study on whether companies can develop a mathematical activity that supports Students' motivation in mathematics. The work was done together with Midroc Electro, a company that pays attention to the difficulty of recruiting and therefore was interested in investigating how the business world would be able to contribute. The thesis can be divided into three stages. The first part comprised by a exploration into research on Student motivation regarding mathematics as well as numerous interviews with engineers to see how the research findings did fit with Midroc Electros reality. In these studies it became clear that the Student who aims for a profession whose education or work requires math belongs to the group of Students who primarily manage their studies in mathematics, that is, those that have the greatest motivation to work hard and complete their studies.Research information and interviews were compared and resulted in the thesis second part, Midroc Challenge. An activity where Students primarily came to learn about the engineering profession and secondly how mathematics can be used in the engineering profession.

The basic principle of the integrated school according to the Salamanca Declaration is that all children, whenever possible, should be taught together, regardless of any difficulties or diversity. It has been shown that Students with neuropsychiatric disorders are having much more difficulties to achieve the targets than the average Student. Pupils with neuropsychiatric syndrome will always be present in school and we who are working in the business must be better at learning to adapt to them so that they too can achieve proficiency in school.Mathematics is perhaps the topic that Swedish Students generally have most problems with, and it will not obviously be easier if you have some form of neuropsychiatric disability. In our future role as special education teachers, we will mentor and support other teachers in the complex educational environment that exists today. The aim that has been built up is thus partly to explore how mathematics teachers work with included Students with neuropsychiatric disorders, as well as how teachers wishing to become supervised by specialeducation teachers in mathematics. The study is conducted from a sociocultural perspective.A sociocultural perspective on learning means that all people are learning all the time in social settings.

Marketing of education is a phenomenon which has been developed throughout the increasing competition within the educational sector. The focus of this paper is the marketing made by upper secondary schools (grade 10-12) in Stockholm. The competition in this area is increasing partly due to the growing number of private schools. However, this is a phenomenon seen only in larger cities with several schools available. There are over 170 upper secondary schools in Stockholm and the Students freely can choose among these.

Rykte & dåliga betyg : Fallet: Jordbromalmsskolan

Three different factors are thought to be involved in the increased segregation in Stockholm: the living segregation, scientific and political dissonances and the social economical factor. Many segregated areas have many inhabitants with foreign background. Schools in these areas have a higher number of Students with lower grades compared to other schools with higher number of Students that are ethnical Swedes. Jordbromalmsskolan is a school in Haninge kommun that is one of the seven schools in Stockholms suburbs where Students graduate with the lowest grades. The school is suffering from a very bad reputation because of many problems like fights between Students and lack of resources like purchase stop.

With examples from a single classroom situation, several educational moments show what goes on between the teacher and the Student. The teacher?s responsibility in the learning process is, with a gesture frozen in the air of the moment, to lead and follow the Student in her tentative efforts at seeking knowledge. Initially, it is an attempt to shed light upon the "not yet seen" with a certainty that the Student herself possesses the capacity and the aptitude to reach greater insight and clarity in her understanding. The Validation/Feil Method presented in this instructional situation illustrates how best to communicate with elderly people suffering from Alzheimer?s dementia.

Background: The competition is getting harder between the universities. To reach the high school Students and discover which means of contact they prefer and how they perceive Student recruitment are important issues in order to succeed in marketing strategies.Purpose: The purpose with our report is to investigate, analyze and compare the Student recruitment in three universities and investigate how the high school Students want to be contacted. Then we compare to see if they think alike.Method: We have done a qualitative study and chosen to use focus group interviews for the high school Students and interviews for the universities to collect our empirical data. We have compared the empirical data and analyzed it with communication processes and marketing communication as theoretical grounds.Result: All of the universities work approximately the same way with their Student recruitment. They put a large effort in the Internet and social networks as well as the personal contact.

The tutorial considered as satisfactory if the Student and the tutor managed to have good communication and a good relation with each other.

Abstract This study aims with a pragmatic approach to investigate the learning about how to solve simple equations, and what the teacher can do to help the Student. Four questions asked are: (i) How and why will learning take place? (ii) What will complicate learning? (iii) How to support and facilitate learning? (iv) Is it possible to identify an influence between identity and learning? To answer these questions a qualitative study in elementary school is done. The results of the investigation are compared with previous research, and an interview with the teacher is presented. The recorded lessons are analyzed with PEA (practical epistemology analysis), and letters from the Students with the Ecological Systems Theory of Bronfenbrenner.

The aim of this essay is to study how the University Church is represented in Student newspapers. By conducting an inductive thematic analysis on sixteen articles chosen from newspapers distributed by the Student union at three Swedish universities, the main purpose of the study is to further understand the role and function of the University Church in a contemporary Swedish context. Three themes emerging from the initial step of the thematic analysis were chosen for further analysis: (1) a secularized church?, (2) provocation and (3) reasons to seek out the University Church. The themes were then highlighted by two theoretical perspectives: Mark Chaves? theory of internal secularization and a theoretical framework developed by Anders Bäckström with the aim to explain the role of the church as a welfare agent in Sweden. The study shows that the University Church is portrayed as both an ambiguous and complex organization.

Mötet handledare - student i VFU: handledares perspektiv på
handledaruppdraget
