Many political reforms are currently implemented in the Swedish schools. The trend indicate that education in Sweden follows neo-liberal restructuring policy, that highlights assessment, marketization and surveillance in different aspects. According to the new curriculum LGR 11 the school head is the school's educational leader with responsibility for the school's results and development. The reforms put new demands on the school heads tasks, their responsibility and leadership. The aim of my research study is to investigate how the school heads experience andhandle this situation.

The purpose of the paper is to examine how teachers in preschool is working with language stimulation for the prevention of difficulties in reading and writing before school starts. The method that was used to illuminate the problem is a qualitative interview. A specialpedagog and six preschool teacher, which is specifically focused on language stimulation in the work with children, have been included in the study. The results indicated that preschool teacher are working a lot with language stimulation. They work mostly with children throughout the group, to encourage and provide children with the tools to be able to communicate with each other and staff.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine the opinions of the students of Linköping University regarding the role of the university library in their learning process. The study addresses the student?s expectations and satisfaction regarding the library services. The questions we seek to answer are: What are the students? conceptions of Linköping University Library as a part of their learning process? What expectations do the students have regarding Linköping University Library? Does the library fulfil the students? expectations? In what way has the library?s pedagogical ambition reached the students? What are the students? opinions about the user education? The study is based on a web survey complemented with interviews.

Compact Living är ett begrepp inom inredning som syftar på att effektivisera boendet utan att hemtrevnaden blir lidande för bostadens yta. Ur ett Compact Living perspektiv och dagens trender har olika kreativa koncept tagits fram.En förklaring till att trång­boddhet är vanligast bland yngre är att unga i större utsträckning studerar, eller just kommit in på arbets­marknaden, och därför inte har ekonomiska förut­sättningar för att köpa eller hyra en större bostad. Att många yngre räknas som trång­bodda då de bor i ett student­rum eller i en en­rums­lägenhet är kanske heller inte att betrakta som något problem, utan en naturlig fas i livet.Utifrån ett identifierat problem av produktutvecklingsföretaget PlusFunction har vi gemensamt tagit fram ett examensarbete med syfte att utveckla ett koncept på ett nattygsbord.

I denna studie undersöks vilka uppfattningar SUM-elever, elever med särskilda utbildningsbehov i matematik, har av matematikundervisning när de i klassrummet får specialpedagogiskt stöd i ämnet och hur de känner sig när de följer med specialläraren ut från klassrummet. Det övergripande syftet med studien är att belysa inkludering och exkludering ur ett elevperspektiv. Studien har en kvalitativ ansats och har genomförts i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer med åtta SUM-elever från åk 4 och 5. Till grund för analysen används Asp-Onsjös (2006) tre olika aspekter på inkludering; rumslig, social och didaktisk. Resultatet visar att den inkludering som eleverna anser vara viktigast när de lär sig matematik är den didaktiska inkluderingen, inte den rumsliga eller sociala. Alla elever i studien kände sig socialt inkluderade och vad gäller den rumsliga inkluderingen spelade den inte någon större roll för dessa SUM-elever.

This paper investigates how students in the humanities in four universities in Sweden reflect on their education and the current view on the humanities as an education and a science. I want to investigate what impact the past few years public debate about the humanities have had on the students. What kind of beliefs and identities do the students of the humanities form and how do they discuss the universities, the choices they made in life and how do they feel about the future.This study is based on interviews with seventeen students in Sweden from four different universities. The research is also based upon a report that The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) published in 2011 and the debate following that report. I have also made participant observations on the four universities to make a broader description for the reader.

Den här rapporten ingår i ett examensarbete på grundnivå inom ämnet produktutveckling- Industriell design. Examensarbetet omfattar 15 högskolepoäng och har utförts av undertecknad student på Mälardalens högskola (Mdh) åt företaget Autokaross Rescue Systems (fortsättningsvis benämnt ARS). Handledare har varit Jörgen Andersson vid ARS och Jan Frohm vid Mdh i Eskilstuna. Uppdraget var att vidareutveckla ett förvaringsskåp för brandbilshytter genom att konstruera och formge förvaringsskåpet så att säkerheten och ergonomin ökade i hytten. Produktutvecklingsprocessen inleddes med att förstå problemet genom analys av uppdragsgivarens krav samt den befintliga produkten. Med den insamlade informationen och olika produktutvecklings verktyg startades sedan en konceptgenerering som resulterade i tre fullständiga konceptförslag.

Problembakgrund: Kompetens för tillväxt är ett nyskapat EU projekt som syftar till att hjälpa småföretagare i Sörmland att ta del av den kompetens som finns hos studerande på högskolan. Tanken med detta är att göra det tillgängligt för företag att utveckla sina verksamheter genom att gratis erhålla tjänster de annars inte hade haft råd med. Med anledning av att det är så pass nytt är det relevant att undersöka hur dessa samarbeten ser ut och vad de inblandade parterna, det vill säga studenterna, företaget, högskolan samt kompetens för tillväxt bör tänka på för att få ett lyckat resultat.Syfte: Att ta reda på vad de inblandade parterna i ett innovationssamarbete bör tänka på samt hur arbetet ska uppnå en vinn - vinn situation.Metod: Uppsatsen är skriven med en kvalitativ forskningsmetodik och med en induktiv ansats. Arbetet har grundats på en fallstudie där författarna har bedrivit deltagande observation av samarbetet med beställaren.Resultat: I resultatet redovisas faktorer som författarna finner relevanta för ett lyckat samarbete inom kompetens för tillväxt. Bland dessa faktorer nämns kommunikation, tillit, samarbetsmentor och kontrakt som de viktigaste..

Svårigheter som en nyutexaminerad sjuksköterska konfronteras med kan leda till sämre omvårdnad. Upplevelsen av att inte räcka till skapar otrygghet både för sjuksköterska och patienten. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva upplevelsen av övergången från student till nyutexaminerad sjuksköterska ? med fokus på svårigheter. Studien baserades på tretton vetenskapliga artiklar som analyserades med en kvalitativ manifest innehållsanalys.

The Swedish educational system has taken a step toward change in hopes of a better education by presenting a new national curriculum: Curriculum for the compulsory school, preschool class and the leisure-time centre 2011 (Lgr 11). I have therefore chosen to analyze the textbooks Champion 4 and Portfolio based on the objectives and areas of knowledge for grades 4-6 found in the syllabus for English in Lgr 11 in order to find out whether or not the textbooks are in harmony with the syllabus and if the textbooks can be used to help students meet the requirements found in the syllabus for the English subject.The purpose of this study is to analyze selected textbooks for the English subject for students in fourth grade to find out which of the curriculum?s requirements are met for grades 4-6, that is, goals and areas of knowledge and if they can be used in the compulsory school.The results of this study show that the analyzed books can be used in an education that today follows a new curriculum. However the education should not only be based on the textbooks. The teacher must take responsibility for designing an education that suits the intended student group, but also provides students with different learning styles an opportunity to develop in their individual ways.

The purpose of this study has been to compare teachers' differing methods of teaching mathematics and their perspectives on the learning process in a municipal school to a Waldorf school. The study has examined which approach best promotes student engagement and learning in mathematics in the first three years of schooling. The study is based on four interviews. The informants? accounts are interpreted using theories from previous research.

It is important that the language in textbooks for foreign language learners reflects the language that the learners would encounter in real life. For this reason, the presence of the thousand most common nouns in two Swedish textbooks in Spanish for upper secondary school is observed in this study. Furthermore, this study aims to examine how these nouns occur in order to determine if their pattern of occurence favours the learning and consolidation of words. The main materials that have been used are A Frequency Dictionary of Spanish by Davies (2006) and the word search program available in the digital versions of the textbooks. The results show that the presence of the thousand most common Spanish nouns does reflect the frequency information presented in the frequency dictionary but not all thousand nouns are included.

This essay discuss if Bronze Age cult houses were present at Gotland during the Bronze Age. Bronze Age cult houses are a well know phenomenon on mainland Sweden but because of inventory problems no Bronze Age cult houses have been found on Gotland. The main reason for the inventory problems are the Iron Age house foundations that are present in a large number on Gotland, the cult houses and the Iron Age houses have some design details that makes them difficult to separate from each other. In this essay a number of criteria are presented to help separate cult houses from the Iron Age house foundations. Three criteria?s regarding cult houses on Gotland is also presented in this essay.Two house foundations that PhD student Joakim Wehlin, University of Gothenburg and Gotland University, found in Vallstena parish, Gotland, are presented in this essay.

Ella Mathematics is a web portal that will completely replace the printed math text book in the Swedish elementary school. When the math education is moved in to the digital world the flexibility and adaptability will increase.In 2011 the Swedish government revised the Swedish school system, which contained a whole new curriculum for the elementary school math education. This has been the foundation for the development of Ella Mathematics and the design of the three different users; student, teacher and parent. The development has been done with Dynamic Product Development methods from the project start in September 2011 until the final exam in May 2012.Ella Mathematics has been developed with the pupil?s math knowledge in focus.
