This thesis is a case study which describes the automation of a university library in Sub-Saharan Africa. The aim of the case study is, firstly; to find out which actors and factors have started and influenced the automation and the implementation of ICT at Makerere University Library in Kampala, Uganda. Secondly; it also discusses if the automation has changed the librarys condition. The empirical material consists of fifteen interviews with librarians and students. The empirical material itself has functioned as a base when discerning the analytical themes.

This thesis is about how ideology affects the way leadership literature measures good and bad leadership qualities. The paper argues that ideological influences in leadership literature, from a teacher perspective, complicate the understanding of leadership in its practice and theory. The methodological tool used in this thesis is an idea- and ideology analysis approach applied on leadership literature that is used in teacher education. A theoretical discussion about the definition of leadership and its possible ideological connotations sets a frame for measuring ideological influences in the texts. The analysis from the textbooks showed clear signs of ideological influences when talking about leadership.

There are very few studies that have taken the matter of teacher?s leadership in disciplinary actions into research. That is why the purpose of this essay has been to investigate the relationship of how students think their teachers appear in questions of discipline. The study has been narrowed down to gather and analyze the experiences that students have about teachers, and how teachers uphold and set themselves to ground rules in the classroom. The study has shown how the students interpret teacher?s act of following up consequences of classroom rules.

Finnish student have for several years proved to be successful in reading in international studies. This interview based study aims to describe how teachers in Finnish schools for Swedish speaking children are relating to reading and reading education during the first two years of schooling. The result shows that reading, reading training and reading comprehension are natural elements in all teaching during the first two years in school and that teaching is based on students? ability and interest. The teachers claim that they provide the students with varying opportunities to practice different kinds of reading.

Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka marknaden för djupfrysta färdigrätter. Vi vill få fram en konsumentprofil, dvs. undersöka vilka egenskaper som utmärker en typisk färdigrättskonsument, samt vilka attribut de värdesätter. Vi vill genom vår undersökning utreda om det finns tydliga segment, samt om konsumenterna har något behov som inte är tillfredsställt. Metod: För att få fram informationen till en konsumentprofil, bestämde vi oss för att genomföra en kvalitativ och en kvantitativ undersök-ning.

Engineers are a group of individuals who are attractive when companies are in need for competence in technology. Today it is a shortage of these competences in the labor market. Because of this there has grown a competition among companies when they strive to recruit the best engineers. Therefore companies spend more resources on marketing themselves as an attractive employer. This study was set out to find what engineers think is an attractive employer through a demographic perspective.

This thesis deals with options about information technology in education, the starting pointbeing a project in progress, namely Ostindieprojektet. This is the first collaboration betweenDatatorget and Stadsmuséet in Göteborg. The research is built on a phenomenological approach.The "backbone" information is collected from qualitative interviews, conducted mainlyduring March-April 1995.The questions for the interviews deal with the opinions about the reasons with Ostindieprojektetand IT in education, what conditions required to complete Ostindieprojektet and the ITdevelopment, the availability of the material, how IT-use can affect education, possible qualitiesfor the student with IT-use and how IT-use can affect the role of the school-1ibrary as ateaching tool.Some key subjects examined in the thesis deals with governmental investigations, viewsabout pedagogic and knowledge, problem-based leaming, computer-based education and therole of the school-library. The research shows that the interviewers have the same opinionsas the above mentioned key subjects. In completing the thesis we hope we have created aforum for critical discussion..

This is an empirical study based on Physical Education and health (PE) teachers' experiences and builds on, for the study, significant literature. The study is about PE teachers? consideration of gender in the assessment as well as in the selection of lesson content. Semi-structured interviews were employed as method for the data collecting process. Four teachers were interviewed, teachers of PE in elementary and upper secondary school with varied length of professional experience and ages.

Another positive effect we are hoping for is to improve the situation for the investors whereas all parties benefit from an improved portfolio selection.This study is conducted through a qualitative case study, where we used a deductive approach and collected our data through personal interviews.The conclusion that emerges is that the financial counselling could potentially be improved if financial advisors improve their knowledge in portfolio theory.The originality shapes through the opportunity to investigate a specific bank and because of that an opportunity to examine a specific case more thoroughly was created. Syftet var att undersöka hur reflektion kunde gå till. Arbetet har utgått från ett posthumanistiskt perspektiv, vilket innebar att det inte enbart fokuserade på vad barnen gjorde och sa, utan även tingen omkring barnen. Tingen sågs som medkonstruktörer av kunskap, som barnen samhandlade med. Som metod användes videoobservationer, som användes för att samla material vid fem olika tillfällen.

The purpose of my essay is towrite about newly qualified elementary teachers during their first professional experience and their opinions of a teacher's identity. My interest is a result of that I myself am studying to be a teacher and am reaching the end of my studies.My purpose is mainly to examine how teachers first experience their role and if their education helped them resolve any problems they had. My aim was also to examine what the teacher?s identity and role and the question of leadership means for new teachers?I have used a qualitative interview method.The results showed that new teachers experience difficulties and that their training does not prepare them sufficiently. The results also showed that the teacher?s identity, the teacher?s role and leadership are factors that grow with time and experience in the teaching role and that it is not something that the beginner teachers acquire during their education. I have achieved a clearer picture of what to expect and how to enter into the role of teacher with support and time..

Avsikten med detta examensarbete har varit att undersöka om lärare på gymnasienivå ägnar enligt dem själva mycket tid åt att administrera anteckningar om elevbedömningar och om de anser detta vara tidsödande. En enkätundersökning har gjorts på detta område. Slutsatsen är att lärare ofta behandlar samma elevbedömning mer än en gång. Detta kan visa sig genom att en anteckning om en elevbedömning först skrivs ned i en lärarkalender för att sedan föras in på datorn och för att slutligen tas fram för en sammanställning vid till exempel ett utvecklingssamtal. Ett fåtal pedagoger i undersökningen använder sig av ett datoriserat system för att föra in bedömningar direkt, ett system där elever kan logga in och se sina bedömningar vilket gör att antalet behandlingar av bedömningar för läraren minskar. Vidare tar uppsatsen upp hur ett datoriserat system för att spara och administrera elevbedömningar enligt teori bör se ut.

Grammar is one of the most problematic areas when it comes to teaching a language; to know if or when, and how grammar should be taught, are relevant questions to all language teachers. The aim of the study was to investigate teachers? attitudes towards teaching grammar, and how much, how and why they use the methods that they do. Therefore semi-structured interviews were undertaken with six 9th grade English teachers. The main results showed that all six teachers were positive to formal instruction, and they considered implicit knowledge of grammar superior to explicit knowledge.

The purpose of this development project is to create a model for working with a high school project in Electrical and Energy Program. It should be conducted in a form like companies do according to the goals from The Swedish National Agency for Education. In order to fully perform this we use the concept of Young Entrepreneurship. The model is created according to the new conditions from The National Electrical Safety Board. There is now an exception saying that a student during education is released from the demand of employment that is the normal procedure where you are under supervision from a certified electrician. During the project there has been theoretical and practical examinations in order to clear out the advantages and disadvantages using this model, but also to examine whether it is useful in the future and to what extent it can be used. The result indicates that the model is useful and fulfills the goals from The Swedish National Agency for Education but that the model has its limitations and difficulties.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka vad som påverkar förmedlingen av kunskap mellan sjuksköterska och sjuksköterskestuderande i en handledningssituation. Data samlades in via tre intervjuer och analyserades med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Fyra kategorier utlästes från analysen; tid, reflektion, relation och lärandemiljö. Resultatet visade att relationen mellan handledare och studerande var viktig för att en bra dialog skulle kunna föras, vilket är grundläggande för den studerandes möjlighet att växa in i yrkesrollen. Tiden sågs som en begränsning i handledningen.
