According to several studies immigrants today in general face more difficulties to enter the labor market than before. This also applies to educated immigrants who are the main focus of this thesis.Studies have shown that educated migrants have more difficulties of obtaining an adequate job than ethnic Swedes. Thousands of educated immigrants are forced to work in low skilled occupations to cope with their everyday lives. The reasons behind their lack of success on the Swedish labor market have been blamed on different kinds of obstacles.     This study wants to examine at least some of the obstacles that educated immigrants face on the labor market through some informants own personal reflections and experiences. The study is based on an inside perspective in which the different personal experiences and reflections of the various informants is of great importance.  The study is focused on how five educated immigrants describe their situation on the Swedish labor market. The aim is to investigate the informants 'understanding of the difficulties they have to get a job that matches their skills. It also aims to discuss the structural barriers that respondents relate to when they describe their situation.    The results of the interviews with the informants have been analyzed with the help of central concepts gained from the two sociologists, Erving Goffman and Pierre Bourdieu.

The main advantages they can see is that they are able to influence technical solutions and methods that will be used later on in the production. Therefore it is important to consider when construction workers should be involved in the planning process so that they get the chance to influence in this decisions.When it comes to the decision making the construction workers should be involved in the decisions that are related to their tasks in the production such as technical solutions, choice of methods and materials. Their main duties and working hours should be in the production.Involvement in planning does not automatically mean that the construction workers are involved in the decision making, it is up to them how much they participate.

Samtalet mellan sjuksköterska och patient kan spela en viktig roll för att uppnå ökat välbefinnande och hälsa, men hur kan vi hjälpa patienten i samtalet? Sjuksköterskans roll är att fungera som patientens ledsagare i livsstilssamtalet, men hur kommunicerar sjuksköterskan med patienter i behov av en livsstilsförändring och hur görs det på deras egna villkor. Syftet med studien var att belysa hur sjuksköterskor i samtalet kan främja patienters egenvårdskapacitet vid livsstilsförändring.Utifrån Evans (2003) modell gjordes en analys av sex kvalitativa artiklar och av två artiklar med både kvalitativa och kvantitativa ansatser, där enbart den kvalitativa analysen användes. Fyra teman framkom, hur förtroende skapas i samtalet, hur ord och kroppsspråk ger stöd i samtalet, hur motivation sker i samtalet, samt hur information och råd ges i samtalet. Resultatet visar att förutsättningen för att skapa ett förtroende och en god relation med patienten är förmågan att få patienten att känna sig betydelsefull under mötet, att sjuksköterskan har förmågan att kunna lyssna och möta patienten på rätt nivå, att kunna ta hänsyn till patientens dagliga liv samt kunna få patienten att identifiera motiven till livsstilsförändringen.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilka typer av texter och bilder som unga tjejer och killar använde sig av vid framställningen av sig själva på sin blogg och vilken betydelse dessa kunde ha för dem själva och för mottagarna. Studien behandlade frågeställningar som skillnader mellan könen i bloggtexter och bloggbilder, vilka artefakter som de unga använde sig av samt hur frigörelse synliggjordes. 14 stycken bloggar studerades med hjälp av text- och bildanalys. Urvalet bestod av tio stycken tjejer mellan 13-21 år samt fyra killar 20-22 år. Resultatet visade att tjejerna i stor utsträckning använde sin blogg som medel för kommunikation där kravet på deltagande från läsarna var relativt högt beroende på ett direkt tilltal med direkta frågor och påståenden.

The right to non-discrimination is a fundamental part of human rights. Sweden has enacted legislation which prohibits employers from discriminating or harassing employees and job seekers. Swedish authorities also receive a substantial amount of complaints concerning ethnic discrimination in the workplace every year and there are volumes of research showing structural injustices related to discrimination. Despite these facts few employers have so far been found guilty of discrimination on ethnic grounds in Swedish courts.This thesis aims to shed lights on and analyse how the Swedish anti-discrimination legislation is utilised in the Swedish Labour Court regarding discrimination and harassment on ethnic grounds. On the basis that very few lawsuits brought on behalf of employees/job seekers have been successful it is hypothesized that there are problems either with the form of the legislation or the assessment of the court.

Strålbehandling mot huvudhalsområdet är en påfrestande period för patienter medhuvudhalscancer. Flera lokala, problematiska biverkningar uppstår i munhåla och svalg somskapar stora problem för patienterna. Syftet med studien var att genom en fenomenologiskthermeneutisk metod för att undersöka hur patienter upplever och hanterar smärta vid externstrålbehandling mot huvudhalscancer. Urval: Fyra patienter med huvudhalscancerintervjuades under slutet av sin strålbehandlingsperiod. Resultatet beskriver upplevelsen ochhantering av smärta enligt två teman: Att vara i smärtan och Att hantera smärtan.

Violence in close relationships has for a long time been recognized as a major social problem. Many women who have left a violent and destructive relationship have been broken apart by their former partner. They find different strategies to regain their self-esteem and self- confidence. Selection of strategies may be consciously or unconsciously. Some women have chosen martial arts.The purpose of this study is to explore and learn more about women's experience of performing martial arts and their previous violent relationship.

En individs framtida hälsa påverkas i hög grad av förhållanden under den första tiden i livet. Det är därför av hög prioritet inom folkhälsa att undersöka hur omgivningen på bästa sätt kan tillrättaläggas för att främja barnens framtida hälsa. Spädbarnets främsta miljö är dess föräldrar. Övergången till rollen som förälder kan dock vara svår. Hjälp och stöd från samhället behövs för att kunna mästra föräldraskapet och kunna ge sitt barn den trygghet det behöver.

In this examination project I look into what ways upper secondary school students conceive themselves as politically influenced before they voted for the general election of 2010. The purpose is to examine which influences the upper secondary school surroundings and the classes of civic education are contributing with to students before they voted. As a method, I have used personal, semi-structural interviews on eight upper secondary school students who all voted for a party represented in the parliament. I have asked questions about how they believe their parents, the surroundings of their school and the classes of civic education have influenced them. To separate which influences primarily the upper secondary school and the classes of civic educations have had on the students, I have selected two comparison groups of four students in each.

Andelen äldre i Sveriges befolkning blir allt fler då människor lever längre samtidigt som det föds fler barn. Det finns ett flertal studier som tar upp betydelsefulla områden för hälsan som påverkas av åldrandet och som är viktigt att bibehålla hela livet ut. Några av dessa är en god kosthållning, den funktionella förmågan och ett fungerande socialt nätverk. Flera projekt har bedrivits inom äldreområdet med fokus på dessa områden och några av dessa har utvärderats. Resultaten från projekten har varit varierande och det saknas kunskap om vad det är som gör att projektet vart framgångsrikt eller inte.

The aim of the study has been to explore what participation and hope means for persons with disabilities living in an institution called Horizon House, in Stellenbosch South Africa. The aim has also been to discover the South African approach to disability and how Horizon House fits into this approach. Horizon House is an institution and a protective workplace in Stellenbosch for adults whose main impairment is of an intellectual nature but there are also physical and emotional disabilities. Another aim has been to explore the perspectives of the residents. The research questions of the study are: ? What does participation imply for the residents of Horizon House?? What does Hope represent for the residents of Horizon House?? What importance can hope have for people with disabilities, in their approach towards increased participation? We travelled to South Africa during a two week period in March 2009, where we participated at the protective workplace of Horizon House.

By using the cyborg as a structural tool to analyze certain aspects of human interaction with what can be perceived as landscape or landscape architectural elements, this thesis seeks to explore the concept of the cyborg landscape in order to place human practice in the context of postmodern ideas of the end of true nature. Ever since human kind has externalized evo-lution by using tools and extending the body with technological inventions, we have also taken our surroundings out of their natural trajectory. Everything we do that is conditioned by the use of technology is altering that which we perceive as nature and natural. Since we have been doing this for millennia we have of course also altered our surroundings by the influence of technology.This thesis uses three examples of landscape or landscape architectural elements that are conditioned by the integration of technology to explore this practice through a postmodern model of analysis based on the concept and basic premises of the cyborg, or the cybernetic organism. A cybernetic organism is in short an organism that has functioning technological parts integrated into its system.

Also, entrepreneurship is a widely discussed topic that is considered being essential for firms that are making business in a fast moving landscape. Usually, the growth of companies is put in context of the life cycle. The life cycle further implies that as a company moves from the startup-stage along the curve, the organizational structure increases. Further, increased structure is claimed to impede the entrepreneurial culture within the firm.
