En myndighet i kraftig expansion - En kvalitativ studie om utmaningar med strategisk kompetensf?rs?rjning inom Kriminalv?rden

Purpose: The Swedish correctional service is on the brink of its biggest expansion in history, due to political investments related to battling a rise in gang related criminality. The purpose of this thesis is to exam and understand the strategic competence supply work from an employer perspective and investigate the elements included in the Swedish correctional service competence supply form a regional perspective. The study specifically focus on what strategies the Swedish correctional service employ to attract, recruit, develop and retain workforce. Theory: The theoretical framework of the study includes among others, a model divided into three different phases (within, in and out) within competence supply, the demand-control-support model, push and pull factors, as well as the two-factor theory. Method: This study has a qualitative approach with semi structured interview as its specific method. A total of seven interviews were conducted with personnel within the swedish correctional service. Results: The main challenges are related to recruitment, staff retention, support of managers, and the fact that many correctional officers do not have time to complete their training before leaving. The latter is particularly significant are of concern.

Bibliotekariers syn på utbildning och kompetens ? de små folkbibliotekens perspektiv

The aim of this thesis is to examine librarians' view on the knowledge and competence required at a small public library and how they look upon their education in retrospect. Library education in the 1970's and 1980's was mainly practical, a vocational training, but since 1995 the education results in an academic degree in Library & Information Science. Due to this, we focus on the ongoing generation shift in Swedish libraries as an aspect of knowledge and education. The empirical study is based on interviews with librarians working in minor public libraries. The informants form two groups, based on their education; ?old? ones and ?new? ones.

Uppnår sjuksköterskestudenter lärandemålen?

Objective: To see if nursing students believe that they have acquired the knowledge that the Higher Education Ordinance demand and if there is any difference between the theory learned at the University and the clinical reality in which students receive their practical training. Method: The method is quantitative and is divided into two parts, one in which the authors describe how the questionnaire was developed and how validity was strengthened. In the second part, the authors describe how the data analysis was made and how reliability of the result was strengthened. Result: The result shows that the students felt that they have achieved most of the objectives of learning demanded by the Higher Education Ordinance. But some objectives are perceived as not at all or only partly achieved.

Effect of liming and free Ca2+ on Cd uptake of carrots, Daucus carota

The level of cadmium (Cd) in Swedish arable land has increased during the last century and the average concentration of Cd in the plough layer is today 0.23 mg/kg. The increase is mainly due to anthropogenic activities such as phosphorus fertilizing, liming, import of feed, and atmospheric deposition from industrial emissions. Cadmium in the soil will be taken up by crops and is thereby transferred to humans via food. Carrot is one of the crops of concern, both because it may contain quite high Cd concentrations and due to the large consumption in Sweden. In the body, Cd is stored mainly in the liver and the kidneys and may cause several diseases already at low concentrations.

Utvärdering av kalciumnitrat som bindetidsaccelerator

Man vill förkorta betongs bindetid dvs. den tid då betongytan kan behandlas så att betongytan blir slät efter gjutning. Det är en stor utmaning för företag som tillverkar fabriksbetong vintertid, eftersom bindetiden förlängs ju kallare klimatet är.Syftet med denna labboration var att visa hur Kalciumnitrart fungerar som bindetidsaccelerator i betong, och om Kalciumnitrart påverkar betongens fysikaliska egenskaper.  Följande faktorer har studerats för att se hur dessa faktorer påverkar betongens bindetid i kombination med användning av Kalciumnitrat.Betongens utgångstemperarturTyp av flyttillsatsmedel i betongenBetongens utgångskonsistensBetongens lagringsklimatÄven hitta rätt dosering för att denna produkt ska vara lönsamt att användas i praktiken.Alla underökningar har utförts hos Sika AB laboratorium. Corn is an important food and feed crop in the world, in Sweden it?s up till now grown on limited acreages mainly for silage. But I think it can get more important if you can grow it also for grain, because it?s a good animal feed for example, for life stock-, pigsand poultry. On of corns advantage is that it can produce the same amount of dry matter as for example wheat, barley and rise but with 25% less water. I will examine if it possible to grow corn for grain production in the south of Sweden.

Utvecklande ledarskap bland kadetter på Officersprogrammet? : En studie av sistaårskadetters uppfattning av sitt egna (utvecklande) ledarskap

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om kadetter på Officersprogrammets sista termin har en uppfattning av det egna ledarskapet som stämmer överens med vad som stipuleras i Försvarsmaktens ledarskapsmodell Utvecklande ledarskap samt vilka ledaregenskaper dessa kadetter anser är de viktigaste. Urvalet bestod av 10 slumpvis selekterade kadetter. Bland dessa kadetter var följande verksamhetsförlagda utbildningar representerade: Markstrid, Ledningssystem och Nautisk profil. En semistrukturerad intervju genomfördes med var och en av de deltagande kadetterna för att ta reda på de uppfattningar och åsikter som funnits nödvändiga för att efter analys av innehåll kunna svara på studiens frågeställningar. Efter genomförd analys av intervjuresultaten kunde en viss överensstämmelse identifieras mellan kadettens uppfattning av sitt ledarskap och vad modellen Utvecklande ledarskap stipulerar.

Considering the result regarding regional identities, this thesis will continue on to clarify if these identities are to be seemed as a threat or resource during fusions, and if so, how can one best manage these different identities.Method: Only secondary data has been used in this study. I've botanized amongst the literature that processes fusions, impact of culture, identities, regions, territory. Continuing on, the collected empirical resources have been compared to my theory, from which an analysis was able to be spawned and conclusions were drawn.Result & Conclusions: The thesis confirms different regional identities, although it does not treat the subject regarding the inner strength of regions comparing to one another.

Our paper is a study about youth and their self-images. During our practical training period we found that the problems young people had always were connected with their self-image. We therefore wanted to find out what youth believe influence their self-image. The purpose of our study was to examine young people and their self-images in a perspective of the ecological systems model. Essential issues have been what self-images young people have, what they consider influence their self-image most, how they think they can resist influence from the environment and how they would like to be influenced by the environment if they could decide themselves.

"Det är roligt!" : En studie om hur pedagoger använder estetiska lärprocesser i arbetet med naturvetenskap i förskolan

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how teachers perceive that they work with science in preschool through aesthetic learning processes as tools both in the indoor and outdoor environment and make visible what the educators' underlying beliefs are that affect how they perceive aesthetic learning processes as tools used to deepen children's understanding of different scientific phenomena.This is an interview study using the phenomenographic approach as a means and method to make visible and report on teachers' views on how aesthetic learning processes can be used to extend preschool children's learning about science. The results are analyzed and discussed based on John Dewey's theoretical ideas about children's learning, aesthetics and science.The study clearly shows that teachers' views on aesthetic learning processes and how they can be used in the work whit science is very divided and in some cases unreflective. The most striking results are that teachers often are unaware that they make use of aesthetic learning processes because they have a more limited view of what it is than we have in the paper. All informants have science as a core subject. Their focus of the activity is located at the showing and visualizeing of scientific phenomena and some of them express that they submit the aesthetic learning processes to their colleagues or that they collaborate with someone who has training in some art form.

Cyborglandskap : landskapet, människan och teknologin

By using the cyborg as a structural tool to analyze certain aspects of human interaction with what can be perceived as landscape or landscape architectural elements, this thesis seeks to explore the concept of the cyborg landscape in order to place human practice in the context of postmodern ideas of the end of true nature. Ever since human kind has externalized evo-lution by using tools and extending the body with technological inventions, we have also taken our surroundings out of their natural trajectory. Everything we do that is conditioned by the use of technology is altering that which we perceive as nature and natural. Since we have been doing this for millennia we have of course also altered our surroundings by the influence of technology.This thesis uses three examples of landscape or landscape architectural elements that are conditioned by the integration of technology to explore this practice through a postmodern model of analysis based on the concept and basic premises of the cyborg, or the cybernetic organism. A cybernetic organism is in short an organism that has functioning technological parts integrated into its system.

"Det är mycket som händer i huvudet..." : Distansstudenters upplevelser av lärande i koppling till studier och yrkespraktik

Syftet med undersökningen var att ge en bild av hur studenter i en högskoleutbildning på distans upplever sitt lärande. Fokus har lagts på den eventuella kopplingen mellan studenternas yrkeserfarenhet/yrkespraktik och deras lärande i en utbildning. Undersökningen utgår ifrån ett kvalitativt forskningsperspektiv och ett fenomenologiskt synsätt. Den empiriska undersökningen genomfördes i form av intervjuer med fem studenter som utbildar sig till lärare inom förskola och förskoleklass. Intervjuerna bearbetades och analyserades utifrån undersökningens syfte och frågeställningar och utmynnande i ett antal övergripande områden och teman.

In order to answer the purpose a qualitative methodology was used based on interviews with four of the participant youths. Two teories were used, Social capital by Robert D. Stålfiberarmerad betong för platta på mark : -En kostnads- och sprickbreddsanalys

AbstractToday there is an opportunity to reinforce concrete with steel fiber reinforcement. In some cases, completely replace the conventional reinforcement. Replacing conventional mesh reinforcement with steel fiber reinforcement in slabs on ground has shown economic benefits, less crack width and less reinforcement amount.Today there are no Swedish standard for designing steel fiber reinforced concrete, what is there is different international recommendations.In this work, design methods for steel fiber concrete are used according to RILEM and Bekaer Swedish AB's software DRAPRO. For other design methods Eurokod 2 is followed.In this work, the design of slabs on ground that are not exposed by large tension strength been designed. Design of crack-reinforcement and restrictions of crack width have been conducted in three different slabs on ground.The calculations have been performed using only conventional reinforcement and only steel fiber reinforcement, and the results are then compared.The results of the theoretical analysis are summarized in tables that compare the amount of reinforcement, crack width and economic cost.This work showed that the slabs on the ground reinforced with steel fibers provide less crack width with a minor amount of reinforcement.

Matematiksvårigheter : Värför och vad kan vi göra

During my practical training period I observed that many of the students have a negative attitude against mathematics. I also observed that these students have a difficulty reaching the goals in the subject. In my opinion there are different factors that can be the reason to why these students experiences mathematics as a difficult subject in school. This is the reason why I wanted to find out which factors that lies behind the difficulties and how the pedagogues work to support these students. It is also significant that every single student get their rights to develop a positive attitude against mathematics and that the pedagogue supports the students in their development.The point with this degree project is to find out, with the help of three pedagogues, which factors that could lead to difficulties in mathematics with students.
