The workplace is for many associated with joy and commitment, for others it is associated with fatigue, inadequacy and cynicism that is explained as the three dimensions of burnout. A general view of burnout is that it is an individual problem that many companies ignore, because a preventive task does not generate immediate profits. This has been a growing problem for years. Burnout costs not only money but also time and knowledge. Unfortunately, the popular belief is that "If it ain?t broke, don?t fix it." Organizations that think this way are sacrificing future benefits for short-term gains.
Vad händer med åsikterna? : Järvadialogen som kommunikationsinsats
The area of Järvafältet in the northern parts of Stockholm is one of the many large-scale investments into Swedish residency executed in the 60?s and 70?s, and which got the name Miljonprogrammet. Not until today these buildings have been restored, and frustration has been brewing in these areas for some time. Järvadialogen is the name of a communication program connected to the housing restoration in the area of Husby, which is a part of Järvafältet, and functions as a promotional and informational dialogue between residents in the area and those responsible for the communication program. The cultural diversity in the area of Husby is significant, and with theories on intercultural communication, change communication and power we study the performed communicative process and the manner in which it is received.
Rederiers hantering av nya miljökrav : En studie om Birka Cruises, Tallink Silja och Viking Lines arbete med ekonomisk och miljömässig hållbar utveckling
The purpose of this study is to examine how Viking Line, Tallink Silja and Birka Cruises work with economic and environmental sustainability, and also to see how they work with new environmental legislations. In 2015 a new environmental legislation will be introduced, by the name Sulphur directive. The Sulphur directive entails a reduction in Sulphur dioxide emissions from ships where the emissions cannot exceed 0,1 percent. There are three alternatives to achieve the new environmental legislation, the use of Marine Gas Oil, LNG or scrubbers. All three alternatives will lead to increasing costs for the shipping industry.
Införande av IT-system i slutenvården : En studie vid Lasarettet i Enköping
As the ability to computerize processes and tasks increase, the proliferation of complex systems in our society continues. How these systems are deployed in the organizations where they are meant to be utilized has been shown to have a large impact on how well they function.In January of 2011 the Enköping hospital initiated the deployment of an IT-support for drug management, a module in the general health care system Cambio COSMIC. Other health care providers in the county, and in the rest of Sweden, have had mixed feelings toward the module. Some have outright refused the module, claiming that it is detrimental to patient safety. One of the arguments for deploying the module in Enköping, however, was that it was needed to improve patient safety.The Enköping hospital is considered to be a well organized institution with good leadership and earlier good experiences regarding IT-systems.
Att arbeta med Employer Branding och sociala medier. : En kvalitativ studie om hur industriföretag arbetar för att bli en attraktiv arbetsgivare.
Industribranschen har idag vissa problem med att attrahera kompetent arbetskraft. Arbetet med att bygga ett starkt Employer Brand har därför blivit allt viktigare. Användandet av sociala medier har ökat och detta skapar nya möjligheter för företag att marknadsföra sig. Frågan är dock om företagen använder denna möjlighet i sitt arbete med Employer Branding. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur industriföretag arbetar med Employer Branding genom sociala medier.

Background/Literature: Workplace environment has a significant influence on the livelihood of many in today?s world. In Sweden one million employees feel the effects of ill-health due to a dissatisfactory workplace environment. Consequently there has been a recent focus on the promotion of health in the workplace with an emphasis on physical activities. However scientific research has shown that psychological and social aspects need to be addressed in addition to the physical aspects.
Mångfaldens värde, sett ur sju högskoleledares perspektiv
Syftet med studien är att intervjua ledare och klarlägga deras åsikter: i) om hur de ser på mångfald, ii) hur de anser att organisationen de arbetar i ser på mångfald och iii) hur de själva ser på sin chefs-/ledarroll. Uppsatsen är genomförd i en kvalitativ metod utifrån en fenomenologisk ansats. Sju intervjuer av ledare i en statlig kunskapsorganisation har genomförts. Intervjuerna har varit ostrukturerade och har utgått från temana: mångfald, ledarskap och organisation. Resultatet visar ett ledarskap som främst ser mångfald utifrån kön men även i viss mån ålder och etnicitet.

To be able to protect themselves from credit risk, the banks must constantly check the performance of the companies they have lent money to. There are many mathematical models for predicting financial distress. These models use accounting-based ratios, which often are historical and not representative for the present situation. This study describes how the banks do in practice to find signals of insolvency in time and the variables they are observing for doing that.In addition to financial reports which the company sends in to the bank at least once a year, also the relationship between them and information from different information agencies are of great importance to track signals of insolvency. Poor profitability is the primary cause of insolvency.

This study is about organizing major sporting events. Sporting events? numerous positive outcomes for the hosting region has resulted in a growing number and size of sporting events globally. The aim of this study was therefore to provide further knowledge about how organizations in major sport events practically and strategically operate and how processes related to organization and leadership can contribute to the success of the event. The study focuses the context of a Swedish national multi-sport event hosted and held by three different cities, three different years.

Civil-military relations ? conditions for cooperationAbstract: Civil-military cooperation is a branch of current interest, both in studies and research. The importance has also increased after the government´s demands in a more developed and efficient coordination of national contribution to international peace support operations. Several studies show that there is a lack of ability to cooperate between different levels of command and other actors. The Swedish tradition of state administration is strong and the responsibility to cooperate lies within the hands of the different authorities.
Direktdemokrati och representativ demokrati : En jämförande analys mellan två demokratimodeller och en definierad idealtyp
The essay?s main focus has been to investigate and analyze the political actions behind the 2015?s grade compromise; an agreement to introduce grades from the fourth year in primary school. Through a game-theory analysis, mainly based in Leif Lewin?s and Jörgen Herman's research on rationality in politics, this study examined the grade debate during a fifteen year period. The primary task has thereby been to explain the grade compromise through game-theory.
Chefers behov av stöd : När anställd med utmattningssymptom återgår i arbete
Stressrelaterad ohälsa är idag vanligt förekommande och forskning kring arbetsrelaterad stress och utmattning är omfattande. Däremot är forskning om medarbetares och chefers upplevelser tämligen begränsad. Det sociala stödet från omgivningen har visat sig vara av stor vikt när den drabbade ska återgå i arbete och chefen har en viktig roll i detta skede. I Studien undersöktes på uppdrag av ett företag vilket stödbehov chefer har i denna process. Tio personer deltog och genom en halvstrukturerad intervju studerades deras upplevelser samt vilket stödbehov som fanns.
Maktdistans och ledarskap ombord : En kvalitativ studie om fartygsbefälens upplevelser av den maktdistans som råder ombord
Att arbeta ombord på fartyg innebär ofta att man måste leva och samarbeta med människor från andra länder som har en annan kultur och andra värderingar. Med en besättning där flera kulturer finns närvarande kan detta påverka arbetet såväl som det sociala umgänget ombord. Svenska fartygsbefäl som jobbar med filippinskt manskap har upplevt denna interaktion. I denna studie undersöktes fartygsbefälens upplevelse om den maktdistans som finns mellan dem själva och det svenska respektive filippinska manskapet och hur denna distans påverkar livet ombord. Studien genomfördes med personliga intervjuer med sex informanter för att ge en djupare och mer ingående bild av deras åsikter och upplevelser ombord.

The workplace has a direct impact on the physical, psychological, economic and social well-being of the workers. A healthy workplace leads to increased health among the employees which also makes the employees more productive (Källestål, 2004). A poor working environment can have negative consequences for individuals, companies and society (SOU, 2009:47).This is a qualitative study that investigates companies? view of health promotion and how they practice health promotion in working life. Five private and five public companies, with representatives from the management were interviewed.
Europeisk medborgardialog? : En implementeringsstudie av Plan D som i demokrati,dialog och debatt
In an effort to strengthen democracy in the union, the EU in 2005 took a new approach to communications policy to reach out to the citizens. The strategic document "Plan D for Democracy, Dialogue and Debate" was accompanied by two other documents, and the three of them were the core of this policy. Both democracy and communications work means at EU level a higher complexity than in the nation-state arena. Objective of this study is to examine how the implementation of Plan D has turned out in a democracy renewal perspective. To achieve that answers are sought to questions concerning the goals of Plan D, how they are still present today, what happened in practice regarding the efforts that are highlighted, and how the substance of the activities can be judged from a democratic theory perspective.
