Det finns ett problem med att filbaserade databaser inte klarar av att hantera konsistens i form av de beroenden som existerar i databasen. Här har detta problem undersökts utifrån de uppdateringar som sker när indata och datadefinitioner på nytt, efter eventuell uppdatering, genereras in i databasen.Olika typer av beroenden har identifierats i databasen och testexempel har valts ut bland befintliga datadefinitioner och indatafiler i det system som används som exempelsystem. Möjligheten att använda en wrapper för att hantera konsistensen har undersökts och denna wrapper har placerats in i arkitekturen för exempelsystemet. Tester har genomförts för främmande nycklar och funktionaliteten add, lägga till ny data. Vid tester kan konstateras att de flesta främmande nycklar antingen identifieras av programmet eller de kan identifieras via ytterligare implementation..

An increasing number of applications are becoming more or less network based today.The traditional architecture for network based applications is client-server, but as usageof download services are going up, so is the Peer-to-Peer architecture. This report is acomparison between the Peer-to-Peer and client-server model, and can serve as a basiswhen a decision between them needs to be taken. In the report, the performancebetween the different architectures is compared in different contexts. Our basis is ageneral implementation of both architectures in a test that is derived from a previousreport. On top of this, the performance of the different architectures are measured,implemented in a gaming-context.

Tillsammans med en muntlig presentation ingår den här rapporten som examination i kursen Examensarbete i ADB, 20p vid Högskolan i Skövde. Kursen är det sista momentet på det dataekonomiska programmet.Syftet med undersökningen, som genomfördes i samarbete med företaget Arthur Andersen i Stockholm, var att utvärdera om Change Management kan användas som stöd vid införandet av informationssäkerhet i olika organisationer. Dessutom skulle undersökningen visa lämpliga mått för att kunna mäta resultatet av införandeprocessen.Med hjälp av besöksintervjuer av personer med erfarenhet av arbete med informationssäkerhet, gjordes en kartläggning över hur införandet av informationssäkerhet går till idag. Kartläggningen låg sedan till grund för en jämförelse med metodstegen i Change Management. Resultatet av arbetet blev en utvärdering av om Change Management är lämpligt som stöd vid införandet av informationssäkerhet..

The Division of Language and Communication at Chalmers uses a web-based language tool, named EngOnline, to teach English grammar. The language tool suffers from some shortcomings. These include stability problems and an outdated interface but, above all, there is no documentation. Because of the lack of documentation and EngOnline?s need of maintenance, the Division of Language and Communication has decided to replace the language tool with a new and well documented one.The new language tool was developed using an agile work process; detailed documentation was replaced with more efficient communication.

Problemställning: En verksamhetsstyrning med fokus på de ickefinasiella styrmedel börjar framhävas som allt viktigare faktorer för ett företags långsiktiga framgång. Vårt främsta mål är att belysa de mest särskiljande drag och problem med verksamhetsstyrningen på ett hotellföretag. Detta gör vi då det finns mycket skrivet om styrmedel i allmänhet och, utifrån vårt intresse för branschen, har vi därefter valt att utföra undersökningen på ett hotell.Syfte: Syftet är att beskriva och analysera särdrag och särskiljande problem med verksamhetsstyrningen inom ett hotell.Metod: För att uppfylla vårt syfte har vi utgått från litteratur som handlar om verksamhetsstyrning. Särskilt stor vikt, med tanke på syftet, har lagts på litteratur som behandlar servicebranschen. Därefter har vi utfört kvalitativa undersökningar i form av intervjuer med de anställda på Quality Hotel Konserthuset.

The aim with this report is to formulate a strategic method to optimize selection processes of DNA-samples from a faeces inventory to identify as many individuals in as few analyzes as possible, and by that keep down the costs of brown bear management. Brown bear management in Sweden founds today on results from faeces inventory and is substantially led by the county administration boards. Data from the years of 2004 and 2009´s inventories in Västerbotten was used to test and evaluate different methods in selection processes of which faeces that should be sampled. Comparison were made between making selection by chance, by spatial distribution and by calculating variations in logistic regressions coefficient b, in other words bear density and probability in finding same individual in several faeces. We can show making selection by chance is the most uncertain method.

Databases are an easy way of storing information kept together and accessible and can save time by finding the information easier. Cochleaimplant could be seen as a form of advanced hearing aid, this product consists of two parts, an external part that recieves sound and sends signals to the internal part through electromagnetism. The internal part is the implant itself and is surgically placed in to the cochlea. Örebro University hospital has just started working within the field of Cochleaimplants and are therefore in need of a database to store patient related information.The database problem was solved using Microsoft Access 2003 combined with the built-in support for Visual Basic, which is a sort of programming language. The result of the thesis work was a fully functioning database according to the given specification and is now being used at Örebro University hospital..

Bakgrund: 1 januari 2014 blev det tvingande för mindre företag att tillämpa det nya K-regelverket i form av antingen K2 eller K3. Av den anledningen är det både aktuellt och intressant att identifiera och studera de kostnader som organisationer kan tänkas ha i samband med införandet av en redovisningsrekommendation. Vidare har det i media förts en debatt huruvida det nya Kregelverket är anpassat för bostadsrättsföreningar, varför det blir särskilt intressant och aktuellt att studera denna typ av organisation. Det saknas, enligt vår genomgång av tidigare forskning, studier som belyser kostnadsaspekten vid införandet av en ny redovisningsrekommendation för svenska organisationer. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the music downloading service Musikwebb regarding its indexing and retrieval effectiveness. This was done by performing various kinds of search in the system. The outcome of these searches were then analysed according to the criteria specificity, precision, recall, exclusivity and authority control. The study showed that Musikwebb had several flaws regarding its retrieval effectiveness. The most prominent cases were the criteria exclusivity and specificity.

Efficient numerical methods for option pricing is an active field of research. This project has the goal to examine possible ways to improve an established method of numerical pricing. The method is based on an adaptive finite difference method in price and uses the backwards differentiation formula of order 2, BDF2, in time. The project will focus on improvements to the time integration through implementation of discontinuous Galerkin methods, dG. Empirical convergence and accuracy results are obtained for equidistant dG-methods up to order 3 and performance is compared to BDF2.

This thesis has aimed to study steering process and institutionalization in the context of educational policy work. This has been conducted by using empirical material from the political decision-making process that preceded the implementation of a new national program on how principals should be educated and certified. By using an aggregated theoretical point of view containing new institutionalism and traditional Swedish curriculum theory, the process was analyzed from different perspectives. The results depict a process that contained several actors who tried to shape the principal education program differently. From the theoretical perspectives, the decision-making process could be understood as an act of both self-interest as well as trust in their own beliefs and cultural values.

Due to globalization, decentralization and the capitalist system's need to physical location cities have become increasingly important economic spheres during thee last decades. City mayors are seen as increasingly important actors, who can shape the future economic development of their cities through networking with businesses and strategic policy development. Therefore several European countries have introduced mayor reforms to enable mayors to take a bigger responsibility for the local development. These reforms raise interesting questions concerning what leadership changes they produce at the local level and if there is a difference between local leaders and leadership in different countries. This paper further explores the connection between the local leader and the locality since this relationship often has been neglect in studies concerning mayor reforms.

This thesis aims to show how the Kalmar municipality works with this type of strategic communication to build the Kalmar brand and how their communication efforts can be improved.
