The main purpose of this study was to collect norm data for thegrammatical receptive language test Test for Reception of Grammar - Version 2(TROG-2), from 144 Swedish children, aged 8:0-9:11 years. Another aim was toinvestigate whether a change in the order of the blocks was needed in the Swedishversion of TROG-2 to keep an increasing level of difficulty. Other aims included toinvestigate the relationship between receptive grammar and word decoding, andbetween parents ratings of their children?s language comprehension and readingabilities and the children?s results on the TROG-2 and a word decoding test. Theresults showed that the order of the blocks needs to be changed and that there wasno significant relationship between language comprehension and word decoding.Parents were better at rating their children?s reading than language comprehension..

Cover Story is a project, which students at Lillholms - and Ekholms School worked in during spring and fall of 2009. Several school subjects were integrated in project; social studies, art and Swedish, to empower the students to create, implement and design a magazine. The purpose of the project was to give the students the opportunity to fantasize about the future and their dreams by creating their very own Cover Story. During the project I realized that the student?s selection of magazine genre had a direct relation to the gender of the students themselves.

In 2010 Swedish political parties used commercials broadcasted on TV for the first time in order to gain votes in a general election. In connection with the election the parties were criticized for not succeeding to formulate a story to the voters that conveyed how they wanted to change Sweden. In this paper I use central concepts from rhetoric, storytelling, postmodernism and psychology to formulate three demands each on the narrator, the story and its reception. Using the resulting image of what distinguishes a good narrator, a good story and a good reception as a starting point, I investigate to what extent the critique was justified. My findings indicate that the degree to which the commercials fulfill these demands vary greatly.

The aim of this essay is to bring up and mediate a teacher?s life story and professional history to take part of her experience of an animated pedagogy. As a tool I use the life story method, which is a qualitative interview method which purpose is to put the narrative person?s life history in the centre.One of the goals for an animated pedagogy is to learn how to be. This project has been about illustration, text and format with illustration as the main communication path.A study has been made of how these three elements interact, particularly how text and format affect the illustrations. The goal has been to create an illustrated story in a form of a book. The story is about the feeling of being alienated from other people and invites the reader to make their own interpretations. The main target audience has been the ones who is interested in illustration and storytelling, no matter of age.Colors has been inspired from animated movies and the natur. Various textures such as wood, fabric and metal for example has been scanned to create a rough feeling.

My essay begins with a story in which I portray different communicative situations at the preschool unit Myran. The children in my story are at an early stage of development and they all suffer from multiple disabilities which inhibit their ways of communicating. Through my story, I describe how I perceive different communication dilemmas in my work place. A difficulty I cover in my essay is how the educator knows if he or she has interpreted a child correctly when it does not have a verbal communication and therefore is completely dependent on the educators? interpretations of its communication efforts.

Vårt syfte med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur undervisningen i grammatik bedrivs hos verksamma gymnasielärare och om den påverkas av lärarnas inställning till, och erfarenheter av grammatik. Vi har valt en kvalitativ metod där vi har intervjuat sju gymnasielärare i svenska. Undersökningen visar att lärarna anser att grammatik är viktigt och intressant samt kan också konstatera att arbetssättet i grammatik varierar. En del väljer att integrera grammatikundervisningen i andra moment, ex. skrivträning, medan andra har enskilda grammatikmoment.

The marketing strategies discussed in today?s literature are often developed for larger compa-nies and are therefore poorly fitted for smaller businesses with little resources, such as the small resort Enaforsholm Fjällgård in Jämtland. Hence, this paper focuses on presenting and discussing the marketing strategy storytelling and whether it is applicable to Enaforsholm Fjällgård. This mountain resort was given to the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry (KSLA) in 1937 as a trust fund to be managed in the spirit of the grantor A.W. Bergsten.

As humans we transfer norms and values, which we are aware or unaware of, to the children near to us. These children embrace them, and the adult´s norms and values become the child's own ones. When a Bible story is going to be transformed into a children?s bible text it goes through shortening and simplification of the story to fit children´s bible edition. The adjustment will be unconscious and conscious choices that change the meaning of the text and the possibility of contextual interpretation.

My work has been an investigation project with focus on reproduction, method, structure and visual representation. The goal was to investigate how a story changes through time and space as well as how graphic design can affect a story depending on the visual representation. The result is a publication, an exploration of these subjects with the help of the book Expedition Kon-Tiki. The purpose of this master's thesis is to examine children's communication and interaction during story time at the public library. The aim is also to examine how to develop the story time ? in terms of participation and equality ? at a specific library.Action research was used as a research strategy and participant observation, log, tutoring and interviews as methods to collect data. Since action research is done on the basis of practice, a significant collaboration with the librarian and the participant children is taking place within this study.Research from the fields of Library and Information Science, Education and Childhood Sociology form the interdisciplinary research area to which this study links. The theoretical framework consists of theory and concepts from the Socio-cultural Perspective, Poststrucuralist Feminism and Childhood Sociology.
