Each year approximately 2,000 new detailed development plans are accepted in Sweden. When an area is covered by a new detailed development plan, it is often necessary that land has to be acquired to adjust the property units to the new plan. The owner conditions of the property units can usually be adjusted through negotiations between the seller and the buyer. But in some situations, when no agreements can be reached, it is possible to use coercive measures to purchase the land. Compulsory purchases are only permitted when certain legal criteria?s are met.

Dementia may cause difficulties in communicating. People suffering from dementia are therefore often described as being unable to take part in meaningful conversation. The responsibility to create understanding in a conversation is shared by all participants. By means of different strategies, participants in conversation can construct understanding through collaboration. How these strategies are utilized in conversation where one or more of the participants suffer from dementia is relatively unknown.

To be allowed to sell Z-suspended vehicles with dipped beam Xenon or LED lighting, Scania have to develop automatic headlight level control. This master?s thesis aims to be the foundation to that development.The thesis consists of several parts; a market analysis of how competitors to Scania and the general vehicle industry solve this problem; several available principles for detecting the amount of control needed; the construction of a test station for sensors, a control unit and components connected controlled by the control unit; a further theoretical and practical development of one principle ? one rotational sensor connected between the chassis and the back drive axis; a state flow model programmed in Simulink that produces the control signal for the headlight leveling from the sensor input.Lastly the thesis gives some recommendations to the further development and implementation of automatic headlight level control on Scania vehicles..

An analysis of a specific application of anaerobic wastewater treatment at a pulp and board mill, Stora Enso Skoghall, was carried out. A literature study was done and effluent wastewater from CTMP pulp production was analyzed. The analysis consisted of a broad constituent analysis and an anaerobic treatment trial. Results from these test where used to calculate the treatment effectiveness and resulting energy potential at the mill.The literature study and constituent analysis showed that toxicity of the water to be treated, due to wood extractives and sulphur content, was of concern. Detoxification chemicals targeting these constituents where used in the anaerobic treatment trial.

The aim of the study was to gain a deeper understanding of the expectations that assistant nurses in the elderly care have on unit manager's leadership and the consequences if the expectations are not met. To answer the purpose of this paper a qualitative research was conducted with interviews with six assistant nurses in municipal elderly care. To analyze the empirical material communication were used as a theoretical concept. Communication includes codes, signals and messages to be interpreted by the parties in a conversation and they can be both verbal and nonverbal. This means that communication is complicated and can cause confusion if it is interpreted wrong.

Detta examensarbete har utförts på uppdrag av Stora Enso, Skoghall AB. De önskade enmiljöhistorik över det område Skoghalls Bruk innehar idag. Målet var att upplysa dem ompotentiellt förorenade områden på bruksområdet. Skoghalls Bruk är idag ett integreratkartongbruk, vilket betyder att nästan all massa tillverkas på plats och används vidkartongproduktionen.Miljöhistoriken har tagits fram genom en inventering enligt MIFO-modellen som är utarbetadav Naturvårdsverket. Det har även gjorts en litteraturundersökning över vissa av demiljöfarliga ämnena där det beskrivs om de är lätt nedbrytbara, flyktiga med mera.Skoghalls Bruk har funnits sedan 1917 men då som både en sulfit- och sulfatfabrik.

This report is the result of a thesis performed at Westermo Industrial Ltd with its headquarters in Stora Sundby and it sums up the author's studies for University Engineering in Innovation, Production and Logistics at Mälardalen University.The main goal of the thesis was to identify problems and suggest actions that lead to the reduction of the repair time from 3 weeks to 2 weeks. The key questions that were answered in order to achieve the thesis objectives are: What are the biggest challenges that make the repair process time last for 3 weeks? What are the necessary means and measures in order to reduce the repair length to 2 weeks? The author adjusted the work to the Swedish repairs, repair issues that arise from sell unit Westermo Data Communications AB with its office in Västerås and performed the status report by mapping the repair process, through using observations, interviews and bibliography research studies. A flow map of four sub-processes (Inbound Delivery, BackOffice, Repair Department, and Logistics) was made and each section was observed, where also the employees were interviewed. Data that has been collected was analysed by the author and the decision to execute a workshop that affects Repair Department and Logistics was made.

The aim: was to describe and compare a group of experts and critical care nurses' agreement in detecting delirium in intubated, ventilator treated patients with sedation / analgesia, before and after an in house training intervention with the instrument Confusion Assessment Method for the Intensive Care Unit (CAM-ICU).Method: A quasi-experimental study, one group pretest - posttest design. A convenience sample of 17 critical care nurses in a general intensive care unit included. To detect delirium the instrument CAM-ICU was used, 21 paired tests before and 22 after an educational intervention.Main Results: The results showed that after an in house training intervention sensitivity and kappa coefficient improved of the characteristic 1 "acute onset and fluctuating course," an improvement that was significant. In other features, and overall values were signs of numerical improvement and deterioration in sensitivity, specificity and kappa coefficient but no significant change.Conclusion: Implementing a new instrument for detecting delirium in clinical practice requires education and follow-up. A small sample of critical care nurses with varying ability to use the new instrument and the fact that patients' status may change rapidly making it difficult to draw any conclusions from this study.

Galna Glassen is a company that has a unique way of selling ice cream in Sweden. The idea is for the costumer to be able to compose their own favorite ice cream, partly by choosing the flavor of ice cream but also by picking the ingredients. The ingredients that can be chosen from are around twenty and can be everything from cookies to candy to berries. When the costumer has chosen their ice cream and ingredients they are mixed together on a cooled granite board.The company was very successful when it was founded in the summer of 2011 and decided to expand to other cities in Sweden. They also wanted to explore the profitability of a mobile sales unit that is intended for festivals and events.The thesis is meant to develop Galna Glassen?s mobile sales unit.

Rörelseanalys är ett nödvändigt verktyg då det gäller bedömning, uppföljning och diagnos vid alla de sjukdomar som påverkar den mänskliga rörelseapparaten. Idag finns det i Sverige ett fåtal kliniska gånglaboratorier dit patienter kan remitteras för att få en mer detaljerad och objektiv bedömning av deras rörelsemönster. Problemen med dessa gånglaboratorier är att de är förhållandevis dyra och resurskrävande.Avdelningen för Medicinsk Teknik- FoU vid Norrlands Universitetssjukhus har därför initierat ett forskningsprojekt där AnyMo, ett mobilt system för mätningar av rörelsemönster, har utvecklats.Målet med detta examensarbete var att vidareutveckla det befintliga systemet till att simultant kunna mäta hjärtats EKG, då det skulle göra undersökningen mer komplett.De delar som konstruerades i projektet var en EKG-sensor och en Master Unit, som kopplades ihop med en befintlig rörelsesensor (del av AnyMo-systemet). Informationen från sensorerna lagrades lokalt i ett minneskort på systemets Master Unit.Den färdiga produkten testades och utvärderades på en motionscykel vid olika nivåer av fysisk ansträngning och varierande rörelsefrekvens..

Denna rapport är resultatet av en studie som utförts på initiativ av Holmen Skog och Stora Enso. Syftet har varit att analysera i vilken utsträckning man med hjälp av CTI-teknik (Central Tyre Inflation, som innebär varierbart lufttryck i däcken på lastbilar), på ett kostnadseffektivt sätt, kan öka tillgängligheten på virke under de perioder då vägarnas bärighet är nedsatt.Dåliga vägar skapar stora problem för skogsindustrin främst under perioder av tjällossning eller rikligt regn. Studier visar att med CTI på lastbilar minskar påfrestningarna på vägarna och vägar som normalt inte är framkomliga under tjällossningsperioden kan bli körbara. På så vis förhindras att virke ligger oåtkomligt vid avstängda vägar och lagerhållningen av virke inför tjällossningsperioderna kan minskas.Studien har utförts i tre steg och ett skogsdistrikt i Ludvikatrakten har valts som försöksområde. Först har en analys gjorts av hur mycket virke som trots allt finns tillgängligt under tjällossningsperioderna och hur långt det räcker för att täcka industrins efterfrågan.

För att öka skyddet mot elektriska fält i processnätet på Stora Enso Skoghalls bruk utreds det i denna rapport om det går att direktjorda processnätet som i dagens läge endast är skyddsjordat. Eftersom det tidigare endast funnits skyddsjord vill företaget veta om kabeldimensioneringen är tillräcklig så att de skydd man har mot kortslutningsströmmar även fungerar i ett direktjordat nät. I ett direktjordat nät blir den minsta kortslutningsströmmen cirka gånger mindre än icke direktjordat nät då kortslutning kan ske mellan fas och nolla (fasspänning). Nollan finns inte i ett icke direktjordat nät och kablarna är kan alltså vara för långa eller för klena så att en fasspänning inte klarar att driva tillräckligt stor ström vid kortslutning genom kabelns impedans förr att skydden skall lösa ut. Eftersom en nydragning av alla de kilometervis utlagda kablarna skulle bli en så ofantligt kostnad och att tiden för stoppet av processen skulle bli för lång är detta inte ett alternativ.

The comprehensive goal in this study was to examine important factors in an introduction of a new machine team. The aim was to identify what elements should be part of an introduction program for new machine team. The examination was done together with Stora Enso Skog. A new machine team and their supervisors where analyzed during a six month period. The evaluation was done with open interviews of the team members and their supervisors. The main question was what should be included in an introduction program to develop a successful machine team as effective as possible? Interviews of the new team and analyses gave good indications how the procedure should be done.

Examensarbetet syftar till att utveckla en metod för riskbedömning vid organisationsförändring på Stora Ensos massabruk i Skutskär. I litteraturen benämns den psykiska och sociala arbetsmiljön som psykosocial arbetsmiljö, så även i detta examensarbete. Studien tar sin början i en metaanalys av tre kartläggningsmetoder för den psykosociala arbetsmiljön, detta eftersom det inte finns någon given definition av vad den psykosociala arbetsmiljön inbegriper. Metaanalysen resulterade i ett antal psykosociala faktorer som testats under fem kvalitativa intervjuer på avdelningen Torkmaskiner. Datainsamlingen bygger även på en kvantitativ enkätundersökning på samma avdelning, där all personal fick möjlighet att medverka.
